In this golf lesson I explain how to release the golf club correctly and create full power. The release of the golf club is one of the most talked about topics in golf. Some instructional content on social media is demonstrating this in a way that, in my opinion, is incorrect.
When a golfer swings through impact, the club-face should never be pointing upwards to the sky, as some are suggesting. This position (club-face pointing to the sky) is only desirable on smaller shots that require less power with a premeditated shot choice. The proof is in the pudding, If you look at any top player like Tiger Woods or Rory McIlroy, when they make a full swing the club-face is NOT pointing upwards but rather it’s pointing down and behind them. This is a position that is derived from the club-head accelerating through the ball all the way to their finish, they are certainly not applying any sort of handbrake to to slow their swing down. They are allowing the golf club to fully release, providing full power.

Now if I’m going to hit a full swing a driver or a 7 IR it doesn’t matter what club it is I’m going to do a full action then once again if this club is pointing up the club itself has not released from Impact so I might as well
Stop here on all of my shots including me driver because there’s no point going any further because you’ve put a handbrake on to actually stop the club from accelerating through the ball as we go through the ball this line of the chea should point back down to where the ball was and this
Advances the club through and provides not only more power but provides the finish that you see all the pros finishing in
