We could run the same thing that they know is coming and still beat them where now it’s like we just don’t have the talent to do that we we we physically can’t do that and we need to change it up we need to switch the offense up um

Kept Nick Jackson kept Jay Higgins um Quin Castro Stan J Mar all the running backs so basically the whole defense except for Coupe which I’m going to go out and say this I think our defense is really freaking good and I think they’re gonna be really solid next

Year but cp’s tough to lose man like you saw the impact he had um just being out a couple games um people are scared to throw to him and then once he’s out it’s a different it’s a different type of offense going towards that defense um so hopefully I mean hopefully the

Defense looks good hopefully they keep it up and obviously coach Parker’s still there which is huge coach Wallace got promoted assistant head coach it’s huge so defense is gonna be great next year as usual offense Lee’s back that’s huge um the tight ends look good as usual quarterbacks not great yeah dude running

Backs are good I think one thing that we really need the thing that’s gonna we need a quarterback like you said we need it we need one we need a quarterback who can like there’s just no question about it like can do it and then on top of that

We need an offensive line we can block form him and that is something we did not have last year at all Proctor would be a huge help Proctor would be a huge help but again you can’t have a one oneman Army on the in the line because

You just flip their best end to the other side it’s over um or just move their interior Lin over it’s you can do a lot of things to beat that one line um I think we’re going to need some guys probably in the portal um yeah I mean there’s just got to be

More competition got to be more competition because I don’t know just it just they were soft this year it was frustrating to watch it was hard to watch and I’m with you like right now I’m not excited for the football season next year not at all the last two games made me wonder

What do you do run the football yeah or question they ask is how many guys are you bringing from your team over to ours yeah that’s what they should have more than half an offense then they’re like you’re hired fourth and inches on our own 40 what do

We do punt good all right step in the right direction we’re down 23 in the Big 10 title game with nothing to lose what do you do establish the run it’s Insanity it is I I don’t I honestly I have nothing to say I have no idea I have no idea

What I’ll be like just real I’ll be as real as I possibly like I don’t I don’t know what the how the Iowa OC job is appealing because I think it’s a major it’s it is okay I guess I do there’s a risk factor to it because it’s a huge

Reward or just a place where you go for your career to die I feel like it’s one or the other because you could either change that offense around and that Iowa team could become a team that’s top 15 like actually top 15 contending maybe even making the playoff

Or you go to a place where you’re just not you’re running the same stuff we usually run and it’s just a crap shoot so I don’t know I think I I mean I don’t if you’re in a good job it’s a hard job to look at and be like that

Looks really appealing but at the same time if you’re in a smaller job and you’re looking to make it into a big time program where you think you could turn it around then hey [ __ ] it why not try it the crazy thing is we finished 24th in the country with

The worst offense in the history of football if you’re top 20 yeah we’re top 25 oh my gosh 10 and four big time West Champs never forget it I dude that’s like somebody running a marathon with one leg it’s incredible like it’s just in finishing in finishing top 25 five

Yeah literally we’re we’re missing a limb and we still made it in the top 25 so the rest of the programs in the big 10wn was who didn’t make it in the top 25 what are you doing wrong I can tell you what they’re doing wrong um the other programs in the Big

10 West didn’t make the top 100 because they all sucked suck they so they don’t have Phil Parker Lavar Woods Wallace Bell they don’t have all all the boys all the boys that’s the hard part is like the defense it’s so everyone’s like iow was defense is so good iow was offense so

Bad it’s so true and it’s like so prevalent but it almost I feel like it almost makes the defense look bad because of how bad the offense does defense lets up 23 against Michigan which is not a bad game the national champs 23 against Michigan and we can’t

Him to coach our line oh I’m I’m so serious I’ve been I’ve been saying that since day one I’ve always thought you should you can stick with o line he’s a great position coach like it’s not even a question he is one of the best position coaches I know and

He’s a great players coach probably on the planet he’s one of the best position coaches hands down you ask anyone who’s who’s played for him as a position coach the Paulson they said he was one of the best coaches they’ve ever ever listened to and underst like he’s one of the

Greatest minds and it’s like he knows what he’s talking about when it comes to line and is tough and I guess it’s it turn out not to be for him but like he’s I don’t think that means he shouldn’t be a coach because I think he’s a great coach yeah

And being a coordinator is tough as hell I mean good for him for trying obviously you know it’s it didn’t work for us but it sucks I obviously it’s tough the way was that bad his first year is 20 I mean 2017 to 2021 wasn’t that yeah I mean we had some

Ath out there you look at the guys like with Nate Stanley that that offense most of them are in the NFL Still’s balling mir’s balling I know B Smith’s still looking for teams he’s still working out like all the tight ends are still there most Ian o line I think a couple I

Mean wor is in there um Ike our freshman year is in there um damn Ike was there when you I think I think his yeah his last year was my freshman year yeah I would love to he’s love to get those pieces back man because right

Now I don’t I don’t think we have it but that’s why the portal is the best thing on earth it’s literal free agency and I hate it I hate it so much but it’s at the point now where you gotta play it all right I asked you this

Goal so I didn’t want to transfer like obviously have been cool to play more um and I I I would have could have tried to go play at a smaller school and see what happened but I mean the memories I made the guys I met and the guys I stay in contact

With I mean that’s something that you can’t trade for in the world and like football comes to an end at one point it came to an end for me after college and the people I became close with the year if I would have left would have been

That year like I came closer with people that year and I would never have traded TR it for anything the experiences wouldn’t trade I wouldn’t have traded any of it so no I would not have gone in the portal also since I didn’t want to

Go to the NFL if I would have gone to the portal I would have f a quitter like on my team like that’s that’s what I don’t get is like guys who have been there for a while I get they want to go to the NFL but you know what’s cooler than

Going to another team and kicking ass is staying in the same team and making them better and like you guys do it your last year because like that’s your goal it’s like you want to make your team the best you could possibly be but I’m not saying it’s selfish like

It is a business decision a lot of guys do it it works out for them but I think it’s cooler if someone can stay and not transfer end up that year going crazy and make their team better get get their shot yeah like that’s realistically you think about all the coaches and what

They preach like Sabin KF um there’s a lot of guys that won’t play their freshman sophomore year like it’s simp simple as that but like those guys that understand they’re not playing those freshman sophomore year learn so much from the guys ahead of them and when those guys leave it’s their shot and

Then they do the same thing it’s a cycle but now that Cycle’s broken because of the transfer portal that’s my opinion I mean in our situation we need the portal because you know when you got to replace yeah taking my time out of it right now

We need to bring as many guys in as we can yeah we need to replace what I mean the running back room is stacked that might be one of the best running back rooms great tight end room looks good I think oh yeah I not even

Saying this like to to [ __ ] on the old line or anything we bring in guys that are really good from the portal at least give them competition like obviously if those guys those five guys starting who were didn’t do great this year like if those guys are starting means there’s no competition in

The room and if there was competition and those guys were starting then they’d be playing significantly better than they were well and guys get banged up look at like I mean Russy fth was a huge addition yeah but those guys in the trenches they get banged up you

Need next man up I think we had three linemen hurt for our last game of the season and it was like it was just it was good to have that depth you hit the portal whether it’s six man starting five you know it doesn’t matter get him

Addition but if they get injured then what if we can’t develop offensive lineman to have at least those guys back those guys who transfer in up so the next man up is someone who is developed and ready to go then we’re screwed so so the guys that are playing

Right now are they need more competition like I said and they need the guys behind them to be developed and when injuries happen they gota be ready to go but that’s just not happening right now and that’s that’s where I think our offense like we’re built around an

Offensive line and we just don’t have that yeah it’s true I mean you can’t have this this good of a running back room and a bossed all line same with the receiver room V transfers out Nico’s gone Boston always hurt I hope he stays healthy because I think he’s same thing
