2024 Citrus Bowl featuring Iowa vs Tennessee Go VOLS!!

Today, I started the New Year at the 2024 Citrus Bowl here in Orlando Florida! This was an amazing experience and to top everything off, Tennessee played extremelly well. This vlog features a wide variety of things including, pre game ceremonies, The Pride of the Southland Marching Band, some parts of halftime, various plays from the football game, post game celebration, and of course that song we all love ROCKY TOP!!!!

So last year I learned my lesson don’t buy parking on the StubHub app CU they charge you a freaking $25 service fee this year I just brought cash and saved myself literally like at least 30 bucks freaked me out a little bit when I pulled and came off of the toll road it

Said Stadium parking full parking downtown I went oh but I think what they’re refer to was the the Lots right around the stadium literally I’m I’m a half a mile walk this is awesome these are the lots here uh you have to have a permit and

Passing touchdowns or some stupid stat they’re basically yes they’re the worst college football team ever to post a 10 and two record it’s just an unusual season happy New Year have a fantastic 2024 let’s kick this off the right way with some fantastic Football it’s hard to believe I was just here a year ago literally a year ago we go from Purdue to Val Nation boiler up to Val Nation there is a lot of orange here whole lot of orange what a great way to start the new year

Of y’all get a chance to come and see a bowl game I highly recommend it even if your team’s not playing it’s a very very fun and just high energy environment I think about an hour before game time and take a walk around the stadium here see what we can find um

Basically what I’m going to do is do what I did last year and go up to the top deck nobody’s ever up there so my normal seats are p48 but it’s kind of almost the same area I was last year but yeah we’re going to go up top how about that Huh yeah they are now let’s talk about uh penalty as well Iowa committed 3 and a half per game one of the most disciplined teams in college football this year they can improve on that at all probably have a pretty good chance to the air is a little thinner up here just

Distances to see this and some of it I was it was interesting I was on the way home I was listening to um uh they were doing the pregame a little bit for the Rose Bowl and they’re talking about how bowl games need to change and this whole thing needs to

Change with these opt outs and people not wanting to play or going to the draft changing Schools transfer portals all that crap and you know a lot of people agree that change needs to be made because they’re going to destroy the Integrity of these bowl games you

Know I’ve heard people say oh they’re just exhibitions now no that’s no that’s not an exhibition that’s you’re trying to cap off a season you know and I’d like to think of it as individual like little bitty championships you know you’re you’re trying to win a championship you’re winning the bowl

Game like you can’t tell me that that Citrus Bowl win this this afternoon didn’t matter to those players I stuck around and watch like they were thrilled with that they were handing a trophy around taking pictures with it they were just having a grand old time

So these it means a lot to these players and you know but they they do have to figure something out with as far as you know when do people get a chance to uh to to to switch schools if they choose to or um go to make themselves El

Eligible for the draft there’s just got to be something because it’s not fair to the fans that that support that Team all year and then the after the last game of the season you know okay let’s say you’re not going to the national title or the college football playoff

Everybody Ops out because I don’t want to play in this other little bowl game you know or even a New Year’s 6 game these are Big deals like citrus Bulls part of the New Year 6 you know those are the big big games so you know I

Don’t know they just they got to fix this and it’s been in the last couple years it’s been a big deal uh because it used to be man all of the all the players would still play in the bowl game it was something it was about pride

And all that and I think that’s something that’s slipping away is the pride um and then they’ve talked about oh they need to cut the bull games down you know there’s no way no reason a six and six team should be a rewarded with going to a bowl game H that’s Up

For Debate you know I should it be seven and five yeah probably but you know they they’ve added that caveat in where if you’re six and six or even if there’s not enough teams like this year inota the Gophers got in at 5 and seven you know now you’re subpar at 500 and

You’re getting rewarded with a bowl game but they went in there and they played their hearts out and they won you know so it’s it’s just I I I’m not sure if I agree with cutting out the bulll games um cuz somebody had mentioned well why

Don’t just cut them all out and only use the ones that are going to be available for the playoff which will be about seven games I think herb Street said that there’ll be about seven games next year when it comes down to the you know all of the the stages that people that

The teams are going to go through to play their way to the national title and what’s interesting next year is the national championships not till January 20th so it’s going to be a lot of football my question is though is with that being on the 20th and when the heck is this

Playoff starting I mean it seems to me that with what seven extra g seven extra bowls needed they’re going to have to start pretty much right after Christmas you know and then play from there because that’s the only way you’re going to get that done by January 20th

Otherwise you’re going to be playing into February which I don’t think some people would mind I personally wouldn’t but you got to think about the kids too you know they got studies still and trying to finish up school and you know there just a lot lot going on plus now

You’re competing with college basketball as well when cuz realistically right after January 1st is when a lot of the conference schedules start for college basketball so it’s an interesting topic I do think though they need to do something about it like you you should not be able to opt out and leave your

Team hanging you know you shouldn’t be able to opt out after the season’s over and if you don’t like the bowl game you’re going to it’s like I’m not playing and then you know the team you spent the whole year with you just leave him in

The Lurch it’s kind of like Florida they they were just talking about that Florida State like 30 players left you know I mean so think about that and then you have Georgia which pretty much everybody’s stuck around with the exception of a handful and and it is it’s it’s it’s

Starters Georgia starters who are a freaking Powerhouse versus like third and fourth string of Florida of Florida State yeah that’s of course it’s going to be lopsided but NCAA needs to get in front of it quick and figure something out so we’re going to watch some of the
