The Hall of Fame Debate is on! Only five can get in! Who are you picking?

Oh what’s going on Welcome Back to the nose bleed section I’m your host as always Mr 98% himself back in the flesh I am joined by my two co-hosts as always what’s going on fellas what’s going on Happy New Year there you go I’m just here so I don’t get

Fed the uh regular cast of characters I see oh man and we’re back for a Hall of Fame debate as you guys may or may not know they announced the finalist for the NFL Hall of Fame I’ll tell you what this ring light is kind of

Hotn announc the final is for the hall for the Hall of Fame and uh we have up on the screen for you Eric Allen Jared Allen Willie Anderson jar Evans Dwight Frey Antonio Gates Rodney Harrison Devon Hester Tory Holt Andre Johnson Julius Peppers Fred Taylor Reggie Wayne Patrick Willis and Daren

Woodson long list of names pretty sure everybody is going to be in at some point but only five can go in and we’re going to discuss we’re GNA talk about who we think our five should be that are going to go in and why got some numbers

To back up the statements and uh let us know what you guys think down below before we get into it as always like comment subscribe a new year first podcast look at this first podcast on the first day of the New Year man look at us actually being efficient and [ __ ]

Like like making content and stuff proud of us look at that crazy we’re on the March for 150 subscribers and our March for 5,000 followers on Facebook countdown is on we are about 90 short so check us out on Facebook Instagram YouTube All That and uh let’s get into it let’s get into

The Hall of Fame debate so B do would you want to go down your list of people and talk about why or would you rather go down list by name by name uh let’s go uh each of us with our own list or whatever um before we even

Do that though first I want to shout out Willie Anderson and jar Evans I don’t want to gloss over the two of them and I’m not I’m being serious I’m being serious I don’t want to gloss over the two of them it’s it’s hard to actually

Sit here and talk about a Hall of Fame debate for an offensive lineman especially considering we don’t track pancakes and stats so it’s really hard to actually have that debate but any offensive lineman who has their name on this list has my utmost respect especially considering

Like the longevity that you got to have to actually get your name into consideration for that jar Evis played 12 years in the NFL Willie Anderson played 13 you know the type of you know danger that you have to put yourself into out there playing offensive line

The people falling around your legs your ankles and all kinds of other stuff it’s a mess so just shout out to the two of them I agree I agree somebody who played line play line for four years you ain’t wrong people rolling up on your knees

And ankles it’s to get that feeling for like 15 20 years is not fun as somebody who recently started watching football and never touched you know professional field whatsoever that looks painful so I respect it it is [Laughter] painful it’s painful and I I have a freaking torn uh a miniscus to prove

It ah man all right nope as a skinny man like nope couldn’t be me nope nope best yall would have got out of me was a safety a safety y’ maybe could have made me into a safety and that’s a big maybe one of them bear nigas I see one

Of them big bear dudes trying to come at me I’m straight up drop kicking somebody in the ankles I don’t even care forget that you you getting that two-piece to the ankles cuz you ain’t hugging me brother you were not putting that 320 PBS on my 125 and expecting me to

Breathe after no thank you Tak taking out quickly quickly man mil’s taking this game over start for like he’s just running now oh god there you go in the end zone 17 1610 163 here we go you want me to start uh either one man either one who

You got for your your your your first one all right so my first person like I had to you know put notes down all that like be a little let be a little professional so my first one I got is Dwight Frey this is Dwight Frey’s second

Time as a finalist one time Super Bowl champ three time first team All Pro one time second Team all proo seven Time pro bowler 332 career tackles 125.5 career sacks which leaves him 26 on the list of alltime sack leaders 47 Force fumbles and four fumble recoveries that’s my first person on my

List I think I mean solid career I want to say 15 plus years in the league I mean he’s did everything he’s up there in sacks multitime all pro multitime pro bowler got a ring I think again second time going for it as a finalist I think

Dwight F should should be a Hall of Famer and if you guys are in the comments let us know what your thoughts are should Dwight fre to be in the Hall of Fame yes emphatically yes yes who’s your number one who’s your number one Benji all right so as as you

And I were talking beforehand my number one is gonna be Patrick Willis um first off the man only played eight years in the NFL right in those eight years I don’t have all of the accolades and everything like that because I did the [ __ ] last minute um but eight years

In the NFL he got a massed and I put all of this in cumulative because I didn’t want to make a different I I don’t want to differentiate between assisted tackles and solos so he has 950 tackles in eight years which is an average of 11 18.75 tackles a season that is

Absolutely insane disgusting 60 tackles for Lo 20 and a half sacks he has um actually lost my place on this page yeah so anyway it’s um as well as 53 pass defenses eight interceptions two touchdowns off of those eight interceptions as well as 16 Force fumbles so he’s

Averaging one interception a year for a linebacker mind you that that’s not something the linebackers tend to do as well as 16 Force formal he so he’s good on his own for at least three turnovers a year that is something that you can’t that you can’t sit up here and just like

Just spit out in a Player No that man to me deserves to be in all of f because you know I’m a giant fan I love my linebacker plate you don’t hear 950 tackles in eight years that’s disgusting yes like that is that that that is disgusting Jay

Who be your first person that you put it on this off this list honestly it was between Patrick Patrick Willis and um Reggie Wayne like Reggie Wayne to me is like one of those receivers where you look at the game now and it’s like if not for Reggie

Wayne it it wouldn’t look the same like dude set the precedent for like the Moder day receiver like the route running the blocking the constantly winning under multiple just multiple different fronts multiple different looks was one of the probably most winning wide receivers out there

Like so it’s funny to me like come like how you look at how you hear how you see Reggie Wayne’s like you see it and it’s like yeah nah this this ain’t happened yet like like we just getting here we was talking about before we before we went live I feel you

Yo it’s funny you say that like there there’s certain people that’s just like bro come on like Andre Johnson I understand why people would say he’s eligible like I understand watching Andre Johnson like why people would say it but there’s a certain like Darren Woodson Patrick Willis Reggie

Wayne Julius Peppers like there’s a certain names where you’re just like check check yeah gonna go in this year I don’t know but it’s like bro that’s that’s that’s that’s that’s a dude that’s a yellow jacket to me like you look over their career like those are position defining

Players where like you look at what we know as football now you know minus all the the calls and the BS and all that but you talk about like the personalities the techniques the the way they change the game and and de and defense and offense had to change around

Them in order to stop them like that is where you get the modern NFL from to me so like there’s certain names you just look at I’m like bro even to a certain degree Antonio Gates even though I feel like our modern tight end have kind of

Surpassed Antonio Gates but he was like the first of we go we gonna get to that we gonna get to that so so just to piggyback off of what you said since we’re back at me up with the top um my second pick was Reggie Wayne actually

So and Jay just pick back off for your point this is Reggie Wayne’s fifth time being a finalist for the Hall of Fame is is his fifth time is his fifth time being on the ballot being a hall of f being a finalist like my mans like

What what are we doing what this his fifth time being a finalist of the Hall of Fame so just to give you back be there should be classes for erors at this point to me because I feel like he just didn’t get in because there are just certain guys from like bygone eras

That I really can’t judge that people tell me you’re great and I’m like okay I guess they play with stickums and no gloves and you know no equipment so like and they weren’t the greatest athletes I’ve ever seen in my life so like all right they lost a couple of teeth great

Like like it just I don’t I don’t really I feel it’s different errors it’s different errors so I get it but Reggie Wayne just again you’ve made the point of Reggie Wayne already so I mean the fact that he’s not into me I feel is

Like a Travis but I mean one time Super Bowl champion um first team All Pro one time first te All Pro two time second Team all all pro six Time pro bowler 1,70 receptions 14345 yards receiving 82 touchdowns and he is 10th all time in receiving yards

Come on why is reg way not in Hall of Fame already like that’s all you could tell me oh he don’t have one to one ring yeah that’s the one thing you could say but like fifth time on the ballot come on now top 10 in receiving yards

All time like what are we what are we doing what are we not to mention you see what you see the receiving yards the receivers get now and he’s still top 10 yeah come on top 10 come on VY who’s your number two uh my number two is gonna go in a

Different direction it’s going to be Tory Holk I 100% agree with y’all on the Reggie Wayne thing I think the problem with Reggie Wayne and this honestly just popped in my head I think the issue with Reggie Wayne and why it is that he’s in the situation that he’s in is because

When people think what happened don’t say because they have Marvin Harrison no no I think because of the fact that Marvin Harrison was there they look at him as option two I’m like I said it’s not necessarily to say he own got his stats because of Marvin Harrison that’s not where I’m

Going with it because my reasoning for Tory Hol is actually something along those lines where it’s just like it’s it’s incredible that he was able to actually put up the numbers that he did while said other person was on his same roster but what I’m looking at is just

Like no no no what what I’m basically getting at is when people think of the CTS granted Reggie Wayne’s name is going to be up there but the first thing they’re going to think of is pton Manning to Marvin Harrison and not going to think pton Manning to Reggie

Wers and as unfair as that is unfortunately that’s just honestly how people look at [ __ ] um anyway getting to my my my point about Tory Hull Tory Hull again I didn’t go into all of the other stuff I just have the stat line and everything like that but Tory H played

11 years in the NFL at 920 receptions 13,38 to yards 74 touchdowns that would actually average out to 84 catches 1217 yards and seven touchdowns a year all of which are over Reggie Waynes which is why he gets the nod for me while he was playing on the team with

Isaac Bruce and Marshall Faulk ah it’s tough that’s tough to me that’s I mean you can say I mean it’s tough but you can kind of say the same for the Colts though because like again you had Marvin you had Reggie you had Edan James you had Dallas Clark like you

Had people on that on that team too so I I I don’t know what we’re at the point we’re punishing people for for playing with greatness like you’re punishing people for being great amongst greats like yeah come on it it hurt we it hurts to put it like that it hurts to

Put it like that like I said my my only thing is just like for me when Tori Hol was great Tory Hol was the X in the time that you think of Reggie Wayne’s greatness he was not the ex- receiver that was Marvin Harrison yeah now granted looking at

Reggie Wayne stats he had a time where he was like what five for five when it came to consecutive what 11, or 1100 yard seasons it was wild but I think one of the years he matched that he hit like, 1500 it was crazy but again like I said when it comes down

To like me and what I’m looking at the consistency was a little bit better with Tory Holt than it was with Marvin Harrison or not Marvin Harrison sorry Reggie Wayne so and the the other thing is the fact that I went with three defensive players going in versus Joe you have three

Offensive players going in I I was trying not to put every receiver in because the receiver number always nice because everything’s like 15 this and that and it looks better than just like yeah like you know what I’m saying but still like oh my gosh this

Game is stupid uh so so for context with Tory Hol Mor you said but this is also Tory Holt’s fifth time being a finalist he’s a onetime Super Bowl champ first one time first team all proo two time second Team all proo seven Time pro bowler and his

13382 yards leave him at 7 17th all time in receiving yards uh I I mean to me Reggie just has has more yards so that’s one of the reasons I put him he has more yards over about a thousand or close to a thousand and he has more

Touchdowns but yeah it’s about nine and change yeah it’s it’s he’s a good season over him so Jay knowing that we we said Tori I said Reggie he said Tori who would be number two off of this list that you would put in it’s just it’s it’s it’s more of a

Personal preference thing like I just look at Julius Peppers and I’m like Julius Peppers to me is like one of the the NFL defying like people like oh yeah like what what DN do you remember and it’s like oh yeah Julius Peppers on Carolina Michigan kicker missed the field goal

Bums I just I just remember like Julius Pepper being like that like that’s before Cam Newton like that’s how I remember Carolina was from Julius Pepper just absolutely ring Havoc constantly I don’t again I don’t know the I don’t know the numbers I really can’t tell you the numbers but like to

Me like the the name that just pops out don’t worry we will I got the number I got the number like we got this so all right I got Julia’s numbers for context because again we’re gonna be done this podcast in like 10 minutes pick to on the same people but

So Julius Peppers this his first time on the ballot he was uh rookie of the year he finishes career with 719 tackles 159.5mm 82 pass breakups or pass deflections 11 interceptions 52 Force fumbles and six touchdowns now I mean again what we said before we got on this podcast this guy

Is fifth all time in Sachs now you have people above him and people below him are all in the Hall of Fame he’s fifth all time it’s his first year on the ballot so to me you’re kind of a not say shoing but you’re damn near shoing the only

Thing you’re really missing for me is sometime is a ring and now they’re going to use that hold that over his head I get it but fifth all time in sacks is is is a crazy accomplishment like I I feel you have to go in he’s gonna be first or

Second ballot Hall him all day yeah that that’s just to me how I look at it I’m like bro like that that’s all like that’s really it to me like and to me like you look at certain positions where certain positions are definitely more contingent on or reliant on on other positions like

Your offensive tackles are somewhat reliant on the rest of the line you know or the quarterback getting it out so that you know everything looks nice your wide receivers depend on each other to make sure everybody runs their routes they depend on the quarterback to get them the ball at defensive end most

Times you’re just on a you’re just on an island like it’s you and the dude in front of you and that’s it so it’s like it’s me and you who’s gonna win who’s the better man Julius Peppers nine times out of 10 was was a dude you

Just put out there and be like I gotta worry about coaching the rest of my line you just go get the quarterback like I ain’t got to worry about you do the same thing every goddamn time and just do what you do let me worry about everybody

Else like oh your matchup is is is on the inside he’s gonna beat people there your match up is on the other side he gonna beat people there you match up on your strong side you gonna beat people there like I don’t have to worry about

Him like the man was was ridiculous even older like that’s the thing he did it well into around the age that he retired he was still beating up on offensive lineman and it just got to a point where it was like bro I just feel like the

Prep was too much because the games he was still he was still mauling people maybe not in the same way but he was still mauling people like again n n don’t don’t don’t miss me with the ring thing I think I feel like ring is just about like all right what city did

You play in at the time how it did like to me that’s more of an indication on on the GM the coach you know the front office because it’s like if you have that kind of All-Star Talent on the defensive end like it’s your job to

Build around and make sure they get a ring he did his job like come on man don’t don’t miss me with that whole ring business Benji who’s your number two because I mean at this point they got many left to go no well I I gave you

Number two already this this would be number three three there you go who’s your third right so we can we honestly all have Julie’s peppers on here so we can kind of sort of skip over that uh I’m I’m gonna go to my number three and

So we can speed this up and get Jay over to Monday Night Raw Antonio Gates will be our number four I should say uh Mr six 16 years in the NF 955 receptions 11,841 yards and the kicker 116 touchdowns the next person on this list is Reggie Wayne at

82 he has this man beat by 34 touchdowns playing for the godamn charges come on come on man so so yeah you got you got him out there you know playing the majority of his career with Philip Rivers with leanian tomson and I honestly cannot remember any other receiver that was out there

Um there with Kean Mardo possibly I for whatever reason the first thing that’s popping up in my head is like current Chargers so I’m like like he didn’t play with Keenan Allen like what Allen I mean when did Keenan Allen get drafted he might have played rookie toio Gat was

Like uh till G was like 38 he still playing yeah he was what’s up Michael I I thought you were talking about Julius Peppers I mean he went to the he went to UNC so um he might I gotta look that up now I gotta see in Tonio G trying to think who

The receivers were for the charge when 2 was playing I I I honestly don’t remember no TR remember too it was I I really remember he played with for a good amount of time Keenan Allen was drafted in 2013 I about to say I’m pretty sure he had yeah did he did yeah

[ __ ] I mean listen even with Keenan Allen the great Keenan Island we know and telling you get still number one option that’s all I need to know number one number two and then Keenan came in was number three pretty much shoot Joe I know you

Got I know he’s on your list too that’s was why one of the reasons why I brought him up yeah like that literally is like my last person I think at this point yeah I’m tapped out I got nothing else all right the only other guy I got

Is is this one is for the hood homies like for the kids that grew up just playing street ball Devin Hester bro like everybody knows God Devin Hester the the god of pump returns a man that made everybody feel like they could be Superman you know damn well you was getting cleaned

Up if you tried it but he made you want to try some stuff like he was he was the AI of football when when it wasn’t even pretty to be a pump returner like Devin Hester is one of one I don’t know what the hell he did as a receiver really

Couldn’t tell you but as a i as a PO returner like strictly off special teams alone like give him the just the category of special teams G this man was one of the best po returners I’ve ever seen in my life like let me hop in real quick

Christ so de Devon Hester uh just to streamline his [ __ ] I put everything together he has received and return in Russian stats so I just have touches for him over his 11year career Devon Hester 91 touches 14,45 yards and 35 touchdowns that’s an average of 82 touches a year

1314 yards only 3.18 touchdowns but that’s because the majority of his touchdowns came on Returns come on bro come come on come on with it give my man dester give that man his gold jacket just off special teams alone like that cannot be that cannot be duplicated now because of the fact that

Because of the fact that that Joe basically talked me in to Julius Peppers because he wasn’t initially on my list Devin Hester is the one that fell off that’s fair because my because my fifth my fifth and final one J you may not like this [ __ ] is Rodney

Harrison I mean he was a charger of of the 15 years that he played in this year and in this league because of the fact that you cannot under any circumstances ignore this number he had 126 tackles that is [ __ ] insane 40 tackles for a loss 30 and a

Half sacks 78 pass defenses 34 interceptions two touchdowns off of those picks and 15 Force fumbles for a guy who played Safety to still keep that production up for 15 years I have to give him a nod all I’m saying is from 2003 to 2008 [ __ ] that guy no

All right well if I got to put one more person on the list I gotta go I mean there’s some other names up here I’m looking at we already picked we said uh Reggie Wayne we said Patrick Willis we said Julius Peppers Tory Holt Devon Hester Rodney Harris Antonio Gates um we

Said a good number of people did he make that yeah he did will rker is just oh B’s up 20 to 13 four minutes to go um bro I don’t care no more God a fan uh if I have to pick one more I’m I’m G give a n to Jered Allen

I’m G give another Jared Allen 12 years in the league four uh four time first team All Pro five time proo two time sack leader um most seasons leading the league in sacks tied at two most career safeties at four most most safeties in the season at two by himself 136 sacks

648 tackles four safeties six interceptions 57 pass infections 32 Force fumbles 19 fumble recoveries and four uh total touchdowns so if I have somebody else to pick I’m gonna I’m gonna give Jared the nod you don’t get no argument from me no I ain’t gonna put Darren in because he’s a cowboy so

That’s understand I can I can respect the petty respect the hate I can respect respect the hate h he’ll probably getting at some point too it’s just crazy seeing people like yo he played in in 97 so it’s just like what was it 97 or 92

92 so I’m like it’s tough seeing so these people that have played 92 to03 people that 92 and it’s just like you’re like you have Hall Fame numbers you’re still not in and you were out of the league and it was a fiveyear period so you could have potentially been in

Since 97 like that’s wild you have yet to be put in like I don’t know maybe you’re one of those people that’s just like forever on the cuss but not ever meant to be in the hall which sucks but because he has it depends on like how the strength

Of the class coming in at a certain time just think how long how long did it take Harry Carson to get in Harry Carson was a Hall of Fame linebacker from like day one yeah it’s just in my case when I’m looking at this particular situation

Right here I and this is this is my character flaw I tend to look at the positions of the players that are up for the Hall of Fame at the same time and for me Rodney Harrison beats out Darren Woodson okay I’m sure people can make a argument for and against

But I’m pretty sure well like I said man that quick podcast like there’s no reason to be on for an hour and a half like you know what I’m saying shoot Jay you got anything else before we get out of here nope all right I fill my obligation as a [ __ ] Starter all right well as the regular season draws down to it close we’ll probably popping back on at some point soon with a playoff prediction show something like that checking out the uh the brackets and everything for the playoffs but as always as always check us out on Facebook Instagram Tik Tok
