What is going on everybody welcome back to another episode of the NBA hardwood show talking today’s six game NBA slate a little bit of a smaller shorter slate for especially I guess for Wednesday but I think a fun one uh one team Brooklyn Nets who we’re gonna have to go in depth
With and uh of course some injury news waiting around the league to get up to date on all that good stuff so we’ll go game by game as we always do but our first first time back with the crew since Christmas mango and I know you’re still kind of on vacation with the
Family are you ready to come home yet I know you know family time it I can only take so much I’m ready to get back to my grind after a few days but how how’s your vacation and when you get back here to Colorado definitely ready to be back uh
You you you read my mind I did move my my trip from January 4th to uh this Saturday so uh you know watching watching football at the house sounded sounded way better right uh but yeah uh you know still nice though to be here the weather’s still not too bad right so
Better than being in the cold but I’m definitely ready to get back you know get sleeping in my own bed you know just back to the normal life routine and everything like that so but excited to hear to talk about this the NBA uh of course we got college football going on
Too it’s like that busy time of year where it just like isn’t gonna stop right we’re gonna have college football coming up here for the next couple days and then NFL we’ll have on Saturday we’ll have it on Sunday and Monday I mean we’re getting to the home stretch
Where then we hit the playoffs where uh Hey then we get the we say we’re going to be able to watch good football we’ll see it’s definitely been a rough year of uh actually watching football though yeah lower scoring games across the NFL but playoff football NFL football
Nothing better in my mind so I’m looking forward to that uh AP your your Chiefs will be your Chiefs I don’t even say our Chiefs anymore I this just mine I will take them I’ll I’ll take the Chiefs they’ll be in the playoffs uh we’ll see
How many losses they have at that point didn’t look great over the weekend but hey uh they could they could turn it around your thoughts on the Chiefs you know we only got an hour here so don’t don’t go too in depth and then how’s your Christmas and your thoughts on this
NBA sleep slate I mean look man I’m I’m a true fan I I’ve been a fan my whole life since I was three years old went to my first Chiefs game and and I believe like the the AFC is so I waved the White Flag to the to the Chiefs haters group
Because like what else can you say they suck they they absolutely suck right now I agree with that they’re broken I think the AFC is kind of broken right now it kind of has been broken all year so get into the playoffs you just you never
Know like a lot of the mistakes that we’ve seen are are fixable ones so I don’t know I’m also like optimistic like naturally so we’ll see obviously they have a lot to fix right now though it was it did not look good it did not look
Good watching you know um they’re on the crew the uh the bar that they had on the cruise it was you know majority Chiefs fans just so funny this little you know innocent seven-year-old kid has glasses wearing an Iowa shirt walks in he’s just all giddy and excited I’m sitting there
Just like oh you know in shambles just with how bad they look and he looks over to his dad he’s like is J is Jimmy G playing he’s like oh the the Chiefs are getting pounded oh the Chiefs suck and I’m just sitting there and he just like
Bumps me like three times and I’m like oh I’m like this is brutal this is brutal but you know is what it is you can’t you can’t do anything is what it is uh get to the playoffs and and who knows I mean who knows I I’m not gonna
Sit here and say they’re gonna win the Super bowl or anything like that but you got Mahomes you never know uh so DC we’ll see I’ll leave it at that we’ll see but tonight’s slate I like the Slate tonight I I honestly think it it won’t
Take too long to break it all down but I think we got a good slate tonight I was just uh it wasn’t a great DFS weekend of football for for myself but I was happy to see all the Brock py fish have to rip up their MVP tickets after uh after was
A Monday night I think so that was that was brought me some what’s your hate against Brock py DC I noticed you were you were having this is the the other one I don’t understand like two of those interceptions weren’t his fault like oh oh he was horrible come on the league run
Nows yeah but I mean yeah I had I hand Brock pie yeah why does pie have to like like everyone wants to just say like pie sucks and he’s bad and not the MVP like I I had heard the one thing that I heard the Ravens defense talk
About that they did which like sometimes A team’s just better than you and you’re still good too and you just tip the cap is like they said that they knew that prie had trouble when you could disguise everything and they just schemed everything for him to do one thing and
Then they would just switch like in the middle of the play like they would show something at the line like one formation and then they would while the play is going on confuse him and like why can’t we just say hey football and the Raven just had

DraftKings order of games first game on the Slate Toronto and Washington 241 total in this one we see this all the time obviously with Wizards games uh Toronto though favored by seven and a half on the road uh biggest injury news we’re waiting for here is Kyle kozma who
Is questionable to play obviously opens up a lot of usage minutes if he were to sit this one out start with UAP what do you see for us Toronto and Washington yeah I mean the the Wizard side they’re so difficult to play right now they run Wes unel Jr runs you know
Really wide rotation right around 10 10 guys and uh sometimes more than that uh you know typically when when they’re getting blown out and uh I mean Denny ABIA L minutes to kabali like it’s just it’s a very difficult team to play and on this slate I I don’t I really don’t
See how even if kozma sits I don’t I don’t think You’ even want to play many of these guys even if kozma sat like yeah I’m not gonna like X them out or anything if kma SAT but as it stands right now I I have a very hard time
Playing any Wizards we have a lot of very good plays on this slate and you know a lot of these slates are just about simplifying things and so if kozma plays you probably just X out this Wizards team the uh the Raptor side though OB obviously much more intriguing
They run a tighter rotation with their starters meaning their starters get more minutes uh Scotty Barnes is pretty much Led Led the team in minutes him and Pascal SE yakum those two would be the the uh the primary guys that we’d be looking at I’m glad that we have some
Centers on the Slate that I think are just lock locks like because yaka purle 5.6k in these matchups against like the Wizards against the Pacers like these teams that historically bigs Crush I always get like suckered into playing yaka purle and and that’s not something
That I want to do as me and Gary were debating and And discussing like he’s he’s there’s a lot of different ways where he can lose minutes it’s pre to Precious or they can go small with Gary Trent and so that’s kind of the risk
Here I still think purle like I I have him right around 25 minutes is he playable at 25 minutes I mean he would have to run very pure but he could do it in this matchup so a deep large field tournament play at best but the the real
Place here Pascal yakum Scotty Barnes uh power forward and you know Scotty Barnes you can play him at the small forward or point guard position what a few of these players are going to go off against the wizards they just play no defense they play with good pace and um Pascal sakam
I think put up like almost like a 70 piece the last time he uh he played this team so they have no Rim protection too and the other thing that I saw when when they go small when the Raptors go small you get Pascal SE yakum at the five and
Gary Trent slides in there which is just so much better for him fantasy-wise too so uh I would have to say my favorite play in this game Pascal sakam when it comes to like OG Dennis Schroeder and even Gary Trent I’m leaving them in the player pool I think they’re they’re fine
Plays but not ones that I want to get too high on mainly because we have so many very elite plays to talk about on on the Slate so for me it’s uh sakam it’s Scotty Barnes that’s going to be the main way I’m attacking the Wizards yeah it makes a lot of sense
Scotty Barnes seak mango and anytime you can you know pretty much lock in 36 37 minutes against this Wizards team that’s a a pretty good place to start your lineup so I’m in with AP on both of those guys I do like the discount with seak but man Scotty Barnes he’s kept it
Up all year he’s been consist shown a ceiling lately I really do like him quite a bit at 8700 and obviously Washington I’m with ap if kusma plays I think you can safely kind of write these guys off but if he’s out tus Jones and
Uh God forbid Jordan P the two guys that I’m personally looking at what are you looking at for Toronto and Washington mango yeah well like one thing to call out with this slate and like why you should probably like Scotty Barnes It’s like let’s say Luca sits right and then
We have orm beid who’s out we have Giannis who’s questionable then SJ is the only guy above 10K Mitchell’s questionable then Booker at 96 the point I’m getting at is there’s not like a lot of spends like like I feel like yesterday slate there weren’t many
Spends but like I mean Scotty bares has to be in the conversation right uh like fron Vagner was someone that yeah absolutely nuked against him you could easily see someone like Scotty Barnes have a huge game so uh I think it’s definitely worth considering someone like Scotty Barnes you got to consider
Pascal SE yakum too at 8K both really good plays here I do agree with the point that AP was saying about yaka purle like the minutes just fluctuate so much now I think he can produce in The Limited minutes but it just might not be
Worth it so uh he’s more of an mme play not someone I’ll probably play in any my single entry or three max stuff so not really super interested in yaka purle there but I think those studs are the two I’m really interested in is like a Scotty Barnes or like a pascal seak
Those are really the main two that I would be looking at here um when it comes to the Wizards man I I’m hoping kman just plays because if he plays it makes it easier on not having to make decisions on these other options um now I think Kyle kosman if he plays you’re
Still gonna get him very low owned and could easily do well I don’t think it’s a great matchup for him and I’d probably end up staying away but if someone said hey I’m considering playing Kyle kman it’s like well if the game’s close make sure to play some Raptors runbacks that
Would kind of be the way I would handle it um I’m hoping he’s in though because I listen don’t want to play Jordan P don’t want to deal with tus Jones Denny Avia at 65 you would be intrigued by him but like honestly they could just spread
The minutes out with all these guys and like you can make an argument that the expensive guys if kma sits sure they look good from a projection standpoint when you take someone late kou because usage will get funned their way but keep in mind that’s because of the minutes
That they’re projected at what if their minutes get projected down to 22 or 23 because it’s a blowout out which I’m not saying it’s going to happen but I’m saying without Kyle kosma there is more of a likely chance of that so it’s just something that you have to think about
When kind of doing your projections on the situation so um that’s one thing I think if I have a lot of wizards popping up in my mme stuff and kma is out I might just like put the projection down a little bit just to temper my expectations because I don’t think the
Industry projections would agree with the way that I would want to handle the minutes I think they would just said a Median on their minutes based I think most sites will set the median based on the minutes that should happen in a normal game but I think there is a more
Likelihood of a blowout than probably the field does and projections where I would want to bump it down a little bit does that does that kind of make sense DC that makes sense and I’ll say if kusma sits I don’t mind playing tus and Jordan P together because like you said
I think you need both of them to play well and I think their minutes are Cor relateded you know not only avoiding the blowout but just we’ve seen how much the minutes can fluctuate for the Wizard’s players so it’s like you need those two guys to start off hot right and if they
Do then you know they’re at home they keep it close you could see 35 minutes for both of them and if you look at the numbers with kozma off the court I mean big big bumps in usage and assist rates for p and and especially assist rates
For tus Jones so yeah it’s uh we’ll see with kusma I’m kind of with you I hope you play so I don’t have to make that decision but I do think the you know I don’t necessarily want to go to the the front Court like the direct replacement
For kozma I think it’s gonna be spread out like you said minutes wise and then I think it’s gonna be Jones and P who potentially pick up a big workload and have a ceiling game I think that’s at least possible for those two guys so that’s Toronto and Washington a
Relatively interesting one to start out gets more so it’s more interesting if kozma does sit move to the other 7 PM Eastern Time game it’s Philadelphia in Orlando obviously the big news here Joel and be going to miss another game we saw him miss Christmas and uh take some
Pretty big chalk down with him in that game Tyrus Maxi bust busted pretty hard Paul Reed somehow scores worse well whenever MBS out of the lineup doesn’t make a ton of sense I think it’s the second time he’s done that we saw Mo bomba uh be the one
Of the plays of the day on Christmas I wasn’t there myself uh and then for the Orlando side in this game Gary Harris Joe Eng Les Jonathan Isaac are all questionable Marquel folz has already been ruled out um so yeah those aren’t obviously huge players but it does open
Up some more minutes in the back court if those guys do miss AP let’s go back to you for Philadelphia and Orlando what do you got for us yeah we should I mean obviously like when a beads out like it just he has so much usage that then you know obviously gets spread
Among the team and and the other thing too that we should really have a ton of interest in here is they ran such a tight rotation their starters uh in that game I mean they played what like like almost 40 minutes plus like they they ran a really tight rotation and the
Bench pieces barely did uh uh you know anything at all I think it was Robert Covington that that tilted people he was a dnp with with h w with embi out too so uh I I love the like yeah match up against Orlando not the most attractive
One but just think about how this slate is setting up we have the net situation that’s we’re gonna have some really really strong plays Giannis could sit tonight that’s going to elevate some plays from the Bucks there’s going to be spots where people prioritize maybe
Waiting for news if we don’t have it and it could leave some of these these players on the Philly side maybe a little bit under owned especially with the bad taste that that was left in some mouths so I’m gonna I’m getting pretty aggressive on the Philly side I love the
Rotation that I saw I think Paul Reed is gonna go from you know Mega chock to uh to now being I mean I don’t know I mean he’s not he’s still gonna get some ownership but in these spots where chalk busts and then it’s basically the same
Spot the very next slate uh that that that you have these guys on usually their ownership gets cut in half and so uh the play is not any worse he just you know he had four fouls what in the first half I mean I I think it’s an awesome we
Know what Paul Reed is capable of and uh you know on the magic side too that they’re a big team they have a lot of size they’re running a three-man rotation at center right now I mean they’re going to need bigs out there and yeah Mo Boma Revenge if you want to if
You want to go with that you can go with that that’s fine I trust the starter and the starter’s Paul Reed um and you know four foul like getting four fouls in the first half it shows me that the coach wanted him in it it shows the upside of
Minutes that he he has and uh and so yeah I’m definitely going back to Paul Reed I think he’s an elite play tonight Tyrese Maxi I again I I think we’re getting somewhat of a discount on his price tag I I have all five starters listed as as basically Elite plays
Tonight I think they’re underpriced Kelly rub 5.7k Tobias Harris 64 the Anthony Melton 5’8 They’re all playing heavy minutes the spread’s close I think this game stays competitive and I think we see multiple Sixers get there so the biggest question on this slate on a slate where we have multiple key uh
People that that are out that that obviously elevates a lot of different players is how many is too many and uh you know Gary and I were talking about this in chat you know what rules do we put on I I still don’t know yet I have
To run a few builds I haven’t yet I’m still fine-tuning all of my stuff and obviously the content over at runer sports but that is going to be kind of the question because what I want to do is basically mix and match all of these lead plays like it’s it’s literally all
My lineups are gonna gonna be you know a combination of all of these players that are projecting really well um due to this and I I I hope that the Philly side is a little bit under owned so I’m gonna be very high on all all five starters
Under on any any of the bench players here I have little little to no interests on them even like Mo bomba I just may there might be some builds that that look intriguing with them I just I don’t trust it I’d rather trust Paul Reed and then the magic side very very
Easy Fades outside of bronze Vagner who’s playing really good minutes right now and Paulo banero uh at A3 so those two are the only two that I could possibly play on the magic side yeah you AP mentioned it man go but Sixers starters other than Paul Reed in that
Christmas Day game UB played 40 minutes Maxi 44 Harris 42 and Melton 37 you know it was Paul Reed who played what’ he play like 17 minutes or something like that but you know he got two fouls in the first what five or six minutes comes
Out of the game bomba comes in plays well Reed starts the second quarter gets two more fouls in like two minutes Boma finishes you know the second quarter and is playing well actually started moamba in the second half in the third quarter but then Paul Reed did come in for two
Shifts during the second half including you know closing time he did finish the game with the other four starters it was pretty tight you know they ended up losing but yeah I think I mean if you run that game back I do think there’s a scenario where Paul Reed
Plays like 32 minutes uh and maybe that run back is tonight right so I do think we’re going to get to Brooklyn Milwaukee next I think there’s going to be gon sharp I think he’s going to be really popular he’s basically the same price as Paul Reed I think all the people that
Got burned by Paul Reed might just choose to go the different direction tonight H give us your thoughts on Reed and you know obviously the rest of these six starters look pretty good to me what are your thoughts your Philadelphia and Orlando yeah well I I kind of said it on
The Christmas show I’m gonna say it again like I I think I prefer the a lot of the cheaper options than like these like defensive ones right like Maxi Maxi is great right I mean I yeah he ran bad he played a ton of minutes missed a ton
Of shots but like he’s 88 I mean if the guy puts up 50 sure I would sign up for 50 DK points at 88 but would I win the slate and easily just the Slate’s over and everything’s done no I wouldn’t just win the Slate right it’s still a big
Score he has to put up so I’m a little more hesitant on some of the expensive Sixers um I kind of like these cheaper ones that land in the mid tier more so um that’s kind of the build that I ended up doing uh on Christmas and it worked
Out pretty well um like Tobias Harris at 6’4 it is Tobias Harris Revenge game I know it was a while but may as well call that out it’s moamba Revenge game as well for the Revenge people out there but um Tobias Harris at 6’4 I like his
Upside at his price compared to Maxi so if I’m picking a sixer stud it’s gonna be Tobi his Harris over Maxi if I have to take one I know they’re different positions but I just that’s kind of how I feel construction wise um after that I think it’s Kelly UB over
Melton so he’d probably be my number two and then Melton would be my number three and then I’d probably followed up by Paul Reed as my number four so that’s kind of how I would rank them here uh those guys are getting getting great minutes though right uh it’s one thing
Definitely to mention here I do like the position eligibility that you get for someone like Kelly UB as well uh you can play him at the shooting guard small forward I mean forward guard there’s so many spots you can put him it’s nice that you can put Melton at shoot at
Shooting guard at time because sometimes it’s not the easiest spot to roster but I think I like more of these mid- tier options like I just kind of mentioned on the sixer side of the ball and their minutes are really really good so that’s one thing definitely to mention there I
With apiece point about like how many are too many like I do think you have to be a little bit cautious about how many of these guys you play like one thing I was thinking about yesterday was I mean of course I liked Andre Drummond but I understood if Andre Drummond’s in there
I know he just kind of ball Hogs a little bit it’s just a different kind of team and I thought Kobe white and D rozan you know my instinct was like don’t play them both on each you know on the same team together and then you know
I had a lot of them and probably too much together so just keep that in mind that at the price tags of all of these guys like if you play Maxi you play Harris and you play UB and Melton like just all four of them at their prices I
Think it’s just hard for them to all hit their ceiling so just kind of something to mention there um so yeah uh on the magic side of the ball I don’t think there’s really anything I want to play uh I know Vagner you know he’s got a
Price increase for sure uh and of course he could pay it off and he paid it off against uh what’s it called Washington yesterday but I don’t think I feel confident in paying that price tag right now I think it’s a slate like AP said
There’s just a lot of good plays and I want to stay kind of close to those good plays if that makes sense we did just get the Magic news just just right there as you were talking all three are out Harris Engle Jonathan Isaac all going to sit
Out honestly I don’t think it changes that much for me um I still you know we’re gonna talk about Brooklyn I like their value still much better than I think than Orlando but either you change your opinion with all three magic questionable guys now rolled
Out uh so I mean here here’s like what it does for me I think it solidifies uh the the upside for fron and Paulo like I think we get more run from them but it doesn’t really change anything for the bigs you’re going to see Wendell Mo and uh uh Goa rotated and
I I made that mistake yesterday again I got I got home like 45 minutes you know got off the boat got home went straight to the lab and uh you know tried to dial in actually wasn’t like a terrible slate for me but I I missed that fact that the
Three-man rotation there I think it elevates slightly Anthony black too I know they like his defense outside of that like the backcourt Cole Anthony versus Suggs H I still don’t I still don’t trust it so it’s it’s really frons or or paollo for me yeah makes sense
With Orlando there not not a lot of changes for me either let’s keep it moving to what I think is going to be the most important game on the Slate Milwaukee at the Brooklyn Nets Milwaukee favored by seven in this one 240 total um Milwaukee side is pretty
Easy just Giannis is questionable kind of think he’s going to play here but uh you know is listed currently as questionable and then Brookland uh kind of I I don’t want to say taking a game off but really resting a lot of guys uh Ben Simmons is already been out but he
Remains out but Den witty Lonnie Walker uh Cameron Johnson are all out as is Nick Claxton the starting center and Dorian finy Smith another guy who gets big minutes is questionable to play so Brooklyn missing what I mean I think four of their five normal starters some
Something close to that uh and Really Gonna Be short-handed here uh AP I think they’re gonna bring some of their guys who have not really played at all into the mix to some degree but in terms of dudes they have left who have actually been in the rotation all year they’ve
Got like six five or six guys remaining so really really interesting spot for Brooklyn interested to hear your take on it and then obviously talk about the Milwaukee side as well AP yeah so it it looks like a a game that the Nets are just just punting um you know Bri Bridges
Obviously uh what What’s he trying to do play every game what what is it called they’re talking about in chat basically like uh get get in every game but like I don’t I don’t think he’s going to play like ma Max minutes here um so like I I
Would be careful cautious with male Bridges cam cam Thomas I I’m I’m definitely higher on but there is some risk there Dennis Smith Jr and Darron sharp I mean this is just kind of a smash PO for them this is like they’re just too cheap for this role they’re
Gonna get great minutes and then Royce O’Neal is the other guy as well 51 they should let him absolutely cook here and then trendon Watford so I there’s you you know somewhat depends too on Dorian finy Smith if you just work under the assumption that Dorian finny Smith is

Uh they’re good and they showed it yesterday that match up against your your Timberwolves I I thought it’s just a tough one with with the size that the wolves have OKC like doubl down they went small they went really small and uh it just created so many problems they OB
And at home they’ve been a beast as well too so this is a team and when it comes like the DFS that’s what makes them so difficult at times to rosters because they can do so much with the with the roster that they have um they they run a
Wide R like the only guy I trust is Shay he’s 105 again I think he’s a great play uh as as a stud option on this this slate outside of him we don’t trust Lou Dort we don’t trust Josh giddy even Chad like on this slate I I don’t I’m leaving
Him in the player pool but we have so many other Center options that that are great plays on this SL plate I don’t need to go go there so the only other play that I have interest in on the Thunder side kind of as a fringe tournament plays Jaylen Williams I do
Think this is going to be a pretty good matchup for him I have him at 30 plus minutes he’s been really good when he’s out there but again I still think there’s a lot of risk uh with with this Thunder team with how deep that they can
Play outside of SGA on the Knicks side it’s yeah it’s Randall it’s Jaylen Bronson uh power forwards have absolutely smack that’s been the one spot the one weak spot at least fantasy-wise uh that OKC has given up big numbers to Julius Randall 88500 this
Is a great spot for him I think it’s I think he’s gonna make for a really really strong play the other guy that’s popping is Emanuel quickley I think he’s fine but these are the plays that I would just be a little bit more cautious with he’s only playing
20 to to 23 minutes and he has to be highly efficient to get there especially on a slate with all kinds of of value so if he’s going to be somewhat High owned I again I I’m not saying fat him but you almost have to sometimes under project a
Player like that if you’re getting too much of him and he comes with a lot of risk when you have a lot of these other players on the Slate who you know are somewhat arguably less risky so uh Emanuel quickley the guy I want to be somewhat cautious with uh but but yeah
It’s Bronson or Randall and uh then it’s you know sgaa on the other side but again outside of those those plays I don’t I don’t have a ton of in like RJ Barrett’s fine divon chenzo I I don’t have a ton of interest in Josh Hart I

Value uh I I love what saber’s doing with their projection he’s I mean we and we’re aggressive with projections saber ASM at what like 71 71 and a half I mean that’s like a that’s like a me type of move with some of these stars that are
In really good spots I I get very aggressive in over projecting them and so when when saber is doing that it’s it’s really telling and uh you know it’s it’s interesting so again if you’re sitting in that top spot you know on the leaderboards and you have no time
Remaining and you don’t have Luca on your team I I would be a little worried because Luca has been putting up some monster scores and I I do like this spot I really want to bet the over in this game but we need news that Luc is playing he’s questionable right now Josh
