So in this video we’re going to talk very much about Rhythm I’m going to talk very personally about things that I practice that help me get really good Rhythm and having a good rhythm is going to be the key to success from practicing at the driving range to practicing on

The golf course so if you kind of feel like you get a little bit snatchy then we need to talk about how you’re going to rectify that and it’s relatively sort of straight forward and simple first things first let’s talk about sequence cuz where most am golfers get a little

Bit lost with rhythm is it’s it sequence as opposed to the Rhythm itself and we’re going to keep it Ultra simple what you need to understand in the back swing is that it’s your hands and arms upper body lower body and then in the down swing we’re just going to go with body

And arms to keep it simple okay so what I mean by that is if I was going to practice with my swing Betty here if I was going to move my body excessively in the back swing okay as opposed to just lifting my arms into placement you can imagine the kind of horrible

Position this will put me into so if I excessively turn my body in the back swing without thinking about lifting my my arms all that’s going to happen is I’m going to have to pull my arms into place and it’s not really your Rhythm that’s going to be a problem it’s going

To be your sequence so the first thing that I always think about in my golf swing is just lifting my arms up so see the way the swing budy just hits me on the back here like so and then from there I just think about turn my chest

Release my arm up turn my chest release my arm up chest and arm okay and that’s all I do and that’s that’s the first thing so if you are struggling in a big way with your your Tempo SL Rhythm then the reality is that you’re actually probably struggling more with sequence

And you’re moving your body too much in the back swing rather than just thinking about an arm lift because I know very personally if I was to hit this shot here my back swing is more about lifting my arms up and then I can drop my arms

Down as opposed to anything else so that’s the first thing second thing that I would very much be focused on is as I start the down swing I have to feel as though I am moving my body towards Wards the Target and this is how I get that

Sort of whipping effect as I come in towards this this downswing position so I swing up okay and then as soon as I start my downswing I get this very strong awareness of moving both my chest and my pelvis towards the Target and this would be again while the swing bud

Is very good but also a decent allergy is like throwing a ball you would move this way see what I’m doing so way the upper part of my left leg pelvis and chest are facing and then I can release that arm through if you’re somebody who doesn’t move you’re going to get quite

Snatchy and again you’re not going to look very smooth through that sort of movement so that’s why again that second feeling is arms up turn my chest okay and then swing through like so the last one which is the sort of cherry on the top of the clock is the extension of the

Arm okay so what I mean by this is as I swing through I’m very mindful of my arms moving see where they are extending through to towards the Target and again that’s why I think this is so good as a little training aid because you can just

Think about lifting it up turn and then extend lift turn and extend and that’s what you want to be doing very much with hitting shots now I think the easiest way for you to potentially get accustomed to this is by doing the ball progression drill so if I hit some shots

With the ball moving further forward and starting with the club opposite um sorry in the center of my stance opposite Center and I kind of go up see the way that really encourages me to extend through and basically the faster you can get your body moving like so the more your arms going

To be be propelled forward okay like that and that’s why I think by practicing with the ball for forward drill lift your arms up turn and release you’re going to start to introduce that sort of Rhythm there are Tempo trainers and there are applications out there that you know by

Means you can try mimic and use but ultimately I would probably just get a nice feeling for sequence and just make sure you’re very aware of arms up turn your chest release your arms and if you can keep the swing as simple as those three Focus points then you’re always

Going to be really close to an effortless swing see you soon

  1. Fabulous Russell‼️ I love the simplicity of these thoughts. We make the golf swing so complicated and compartmentalized, that it takes the athletic motion out of the swing.
