Who were prominent the first time around we went with Brandon Albert this time I’m going to go with right tackle James Brown hardest man hardest working men in Show Business uh and he was a fouryear starter right tackle for the Dolphins and what makes him interesting is he was

Acquired After Jimmy Johnson took over his head coach in 1996 and a at the time very rare trade with a division opponent the New York Jet Dolphins gave up fifth round pick six sixth round pick for him as I recall and he W up starting

For four years for the Dolphins uh was a solid player not a Pro Bowl didn’t make the Pro Bowl was a solid starter and to get that for a six round pick certainly would qualify as a good trade for the Dolphins so we here to talk some hard

Knocks episode six Omar your overall thoughts um let’s begin how I viewed the episode or how we re reviewed the episode um I enjoyed it it followed the typical Hard Knock formula um they gave fore mostard a more prominent role going back to his hometown um also showing opening up his

Gifts for Christmas with his family like oh man did you see raheem’s tree that was a phenomenal tree man I was like wow that shabby either I mean yeah I mean the house is nice but the the tree is was really special um I actually think I

Know what community he lives in uh based on the house like it’s players generally live in one community so they do they do um but uh I like the episode I don’t think it was their best but I like so many different dynamics of it I I love

The B I love the behindth scenes stuff like the Joe Chino come on I who who hasn’t known Joe Chino if you’ve been around the organization and and you know like for him to be featured and I do remember him being featured on the Joe philin hardox as well um so so think

About it you’re featuring guy who’s who’s a foundational piece for the organization for 30 years that is Chef kiss um we’ve always seen them building the Christmas stories about the Christmas gifts and you know Tua the the I love how they seed in sewed into the episode to annoying everybody about

Opening the gifts over and over and over and over again um that created a common theme and and just sewed it all together and then for him to get simulated simulated golf for for for all of his guys in his quarterback room I think that’s phenomenal I really want to know

What he got his offensive lineman because he always gets his offensive lineman a phenomenal gift so I’ll be hunting that down the locker room on Wednesday there man you covered a lot of territory okay that’s it that’s our recap for tonight good night no just

Joking um no to me the best part about the Tua thing is he was like going crazy the whole time like can we open him can we open him can we open him and then did you see the look on his face when they were about to open the golf simulators I

Mean that look was awesome he had like this excited look on his face like he was talking about Christmas since December started no I know but they wasn’t just receiving the gifts the completely jacked look on his face as he was about to give him the present that

Was that was really really cool and then Maro passing out the ice at toner gloves that’s pretty funny too I have to say nice flashback as you mentioned to the 2012 Hard Knocks and you saw saw a shot of Joe Philbin walking on the field with Mike Sherman and then Joe shimo doing

That um I like I like the cater Co Who stuff with his family you know I would then they’re they’re seing friends so you know right right oh I I if if I had a criticism about the entire episode I’m sorry it was the I mean great storyline and I

Really really really do like Kar but like don’t feature him on a game where he kind of strugg l in a stretch where he struggled that’s the first time I ever saw hardnox really be critical of anybody how were they critical uh they showed they showed they showed him

Releasing lamb and scoring and they like and then showed his family like oh that was on well but then they also had LEF Shriver the the narrator explain that he wasn’t ready to cover him and then he and then passed him off I I didn’t think it made him he

Made him look horrible to be honest with you and it’s again you we certainly can ask why is it that they’re doing backstories on certain players who are not necessarily the highest profile players on the team like we haven’t seen zip from Jaylen Ramsey zip from Jaylen

Wad um haven’t really seen X and he was miked up for this game zip from X yeah and and I thought the minute they put a cater on talking to Mike McDaniel was like this is your team too you know and I’m like that’s kind of a weird little

Conversation I don’t even know they that that clearly seemed to be a conversation that they took from somewhere um and just sewed it into the episode because they had it um Kar just came out of left field so no but he also told him at a practice David long and you are like

Tone Setters at practice if it starts getting like a little dull or whatever not spirited that you guys expect you guys to like back it up uh as I always do I have like your notes I mean I do it in them up absolutely well here’s the thing tomorrow morning on all

Dolphins.com I will have my weekly story on the top 10 Hard Knocks moments so that’s why I already put him up um Christian Wilkins doing in the locker room this guy’s Gonna Knock over Tom garfinkle and Steven Ross holy moly with the flying bump chests yeah yeah that was that was interesting

Sorry um I I go ahead tell me tell me your thoughts on the episode I’ve shared enough no dude I kind of um yeah it wasn’t the greatest I I like the moster going back to New New Smyrna Beach that was very very cool where is new smna

Beach I always thought it was Jacksonville where is it no he said it was a three-hour drive so okay so new I gotta figure out where this new smina beach is yeah I had looked it up on a map actually the first time it came up

Because I I wasn’t aware either I think it’s in the middle of the state yeah I think I’ve been there um I just don’t remember it it’s not a I don’t think it’s a memorable place no offense sorry omark great nugget I did not know this when Christian buys the

Donuts for everybody in the room and says we all know Christian is the cheapest guy on the team or on the planet whatever and then people in the background are going no Li yeah uh that’s another thing I got to get to the bottom of um why Liam is so

Cheap um that that is that is something that does intrigue me because you know I’m intrigued by weird things um here’s here’s things that stood out to me one Mike McDaniel’s outfit team meeting uh he’s wearing some Christian lons they’re white phenomenal a jaboni uh you know he

You know his his wardrobe of of sweater and and and short you know the Mike McDaniel Halloween costume um was Chef kiss um Mike McDaniel really told his team to tell the media to f off yeah I I I I didn’t know when he said it I

Thought it was like ingest no he really did and oddly enough nobody told us to f off because perk did ask the questions trying to see if somebody would tell him to F off nobody did interesting no um uh you know uh I I enjoyed thoroughly them showing the

Practice moments of Tyreek testing out his ankle and I remember those moments because I actually saw myself in the background of hard knock and did yeah and Tyreek said I couldn’t break down how I wanted to I can’t get in and out of my my oh that hurt so bad um you

Could tell and I think that was the second day Tyreek no I think that was the first I’m trying to remember based on my wardrobe so yeah that was the first day he tested out his ankle but then then he start started picking it up later in the practice and we have the

Narration going even at less than 100% the cheetah can do certain things no other cat can come on it’s cute yeah I know it was it was okay then okay Jesus oh we never saw it didn’t happen but and at the end of the episode they went back to it the

Christmas carol celebration which actually is very very clever but it’s it’s kind of elaborate oh no that thing was hor I hated it I hated it from the very start I felt like they felt pressure from Tua to make it Christmas themed it it was just a bad it you could

See the the the the operation of it was whack so they abandoned it correct yeah it it’s way too elaborate it’s way too it’s way too complex people are going to look at it and then wonder what the heck is going on like I’m sorry you got to

Simplify that thing a little bit that that was they have pulled off so much more complicated celebrations and that one just was a bust from the beginning hated it hated it yeah because it was tough to pull off I mean uh was it the Ravens yesterday I think when Z

Flower scored did one of those that looked like maybe the grit The Grinch who stole Christmas who wound up like they’re putting like stuff in the bag and they all like walked away from the end zone like holding it like this which was very cool dolphins are gonna have a

Hard time topping the roller coaster right sorry that’s as a celebration come on and don’t don’t give me the conga line please don’t give me the I don’t even think that’s their best celebration the um the dance um I forget what T um it’s a where Tyreek does the dance and

And and basically puts his it’s a backwards flip I forget what movie is from somebody in the comment section it’s a it’s a it’s an urban movie about a dance battles um and that that was to me the best celebration also one of my takes did you know they call him Uncle

Dan I think I had heard that yet yes okay I didn’t know that I think I had heard that um wasn’t necessarily crazy and it didn’t take up very long of the episode but I don’t know why they needed to read Stomp the Yard is the movie it’s it’s it’s the finishing dance

Move from Stomp the Yard where the guy does a backflip and stands up and basically stands up on his hand and Tyreek Tyreek executed it perect perfectly yes that that’s the movie Stomp the Yard very good movie by the way okay guys guys in the comments can

You tell us if you preferred the roller coaster celebration or the Stomp the Yard um yeah even though it didn’t take up very very much time of the episode I didn’t really have I don’t know there was a need to go back to raheem’s record-breaking touchdown and Alec in

Gold going in there to to retrieve the ball I mean they had covered it already um yes a commenter says and and I’ll bring up Danny’s comment a moment that he really liked was was Mike telling Marino we’re coming for your records day and that was I I was like

Yeah that’s true and Marino knows all his records he’s Marino has told me my records are meant to be broken um I think that uh they they are aware that yeah this is their dolphins are going to become the best offense in in Dolphins history um and that’s what they’re

Shooting for I think I think they’re close that’s a poop hard question to be honest with you um huh how many records how many records are they close to taking down oh I don’t I don’t know I haven’t I haven’t looked at it um yeah I

Mean everything all all all I have to do is compare it to 84 because that’s when when all the records were set I like the other one of of Coo’s younger brother who’s in who was in the up in the end zone and Van gingo gets a p and he’s go

Like Andrew van gingo I need to start using him in Madden I’m not gonna lie that was that was awesome that that was awesome um I really like the moment where uh Mike McDaniel says to them in the locker room I’m hoping I’m we’re praying that this comes down to fourth

Quarter I I want that for this team because we have a special team and and apparently the team did not like that comment and but I understood where he’s coming from because Mike McDaniel has always been about trying to inject belief into this team that you’re a

Special team you’re G to be special and you have to go through these things to have the special season that you’re going to have you’re destined to have and he said it so much I buy into it I believe it um I think they they are a special team

Um I think that the adversity every single time they face adversity I think it forges them to be better as a team um part of the reason I wrote my column um that I’m sure somebody in the Montreal Expos hat will will not necessarily uh believe

It uh in regards to I believe that this is the moment I’ve been waiting impatiently for the moment where Tua Ascend himself into greatness and Elite status as a quarterback it has not happened yet um even though this is very adverse situations for him especially if Wadd cannot play especially if Raheem is

Not 100% and we all know Raheem already wasn’t 100% but the ankle now and it’s an ankle not a knee um Tyreek not being all the way back offensive line for backups having the play uh this is not exactly the most ideal situ ation but Elite quarterbacks

Offense special okay and it’s not just me saying that noticed the number of times in the past couple of weeks that Mike McDaniel has begun saying the impact that twoa makes whether or not he gets the ball you wonder why there’s why the Dolphin receivers are so wide open

So often I.E Durham Smite against Dallas there is so much focus on Tyreek whenever he’s on the field like no other receiver in the NFL having said that your your point part of your point of view colum is you give well that’s a weird look you be

Giving with the one eye open one one you’re gonna give me nightmares um your point about like to or creating his legacy if he balls out in the next two games and the Dolphins W absolutely I completely agree with that uh and I I’ve said I it’s not no secret that I’ve said

All along that’s what I that’s what I need to see to put my my stamp on If he if he does that in the next two games gonna get this from me you win the next two games you beat Lamar on his Turf yeah and then you beat Josh Allen I

Think all three of them are the MVP Front Runners or candidates CU it’s not going to anybody but a quarterback everybody has already said it’s a Quarterback Award not no not everybody maybe maybe dudes like you and some other dudes in the media but no and and

I’ve also read in many places in the National media that maybe this is the year that actually it doesn’t go because again to me it’s Crystal Clear even more so in San Francisco than here but like I said Tyreek Hill is the best player on this offense and in San Francisco

Really did a good job and it was kind of those where they decided n stick with the hand but I it’s going to be like he’ll barely practice this week and he’ll be on the field I’d be shocked if he practiced uh Mike McD Daniel already

Held him out of two practices last week and he’s been raheem’s been living in the training room since probably the midseason and you know uh they’ve got trust in one another everybody knows Raheem is is Mike McDaniel’s favorite so it’s or or they have a a mutual respect for one

Another um even Mike McDaniel addressing the fact that he had to basic he has to basically Force rahee to sit out practice and B and said um what did he say um I forget how he chastised Raheem he’s like you’re gonna not you’re you’re gonna sit and I don’t care what you got

To say about it um no and then the last episode of of hard KNX is him the morning after Christmas morning opening the presents and he didn’t look like he was any discomfort I didn’t didn’t see anything yeah but the Hard Knock crew is there are you gonna wear your boot

During a hard knock’s crew you think actually had a walking boot took it off for the what what what player do you know that suffers an ankle injury or a high or lower leg injury is not in a walking boot like um Alec Alec engel’s still in a moing boot there’s some

Significance huh there is some significance to the injury if you’re in the not every single ankle sprain gets done okay Omar let’s attack more questions David here this is for you Omar what kind of stats does Tua need to to have to solidify that he is Elite wins don’t care about the stats

Lead your team to a victory do do do what Elite quarter win beat Lamar Jackson’s team mister I always Point as passor rating every single solitary occasion no longer but I’m also Mr I quarterback win loss record is what matters okay so if they win consistent

No uh what’s the thoughts on offense chosen is clearly in concussion protocol um realize that without absolute confirmation when I saw him on the sidelines in the second half in Street close so that means that they absolutely ruled him out of returning to the game uh I think the chance of him playing

This week is zero maybe I’ll put it at 1% um just give you a chance uh right now let’s say wad I don’t know we’ll know he clearly won’t practice on Wednesday maybe he practices on Thursday um I don’t know what that situation is and this isn’t the only injury that wad

Somebody brought this up in the in the mailbag that I did on all dolphins.com the possibility of to get that speed element on the field possibility of elevating Anthony Schwarz from the practice quad oh that anyway no and Omar Omar just shot down that idea I’m saying

Uh um I hear what you’re saying I hear what you’re saying but you’re telling me that um it’s it’s a for a specific role Anthony Schwarz is the only guy with that kind of beep beep speed you’re correct Sanders doesn’t have it and then the other dude on the

Game last night there were several instances where he’s like going up to the right to the left back up to the like a joystick and then he finds an opening and he goes on in honor of Tula there you go one suspect if ever we’re gonna see more

Man than usual this might be your game I don’t know if I want to play man no no no no you know what let’s the other way around the other way around I’m completely okay I lost it never mind uh the fact that they play zone yeah gives them a better normally

If you’re playing man you’re looking at your guy strictly and if he’s going up the field you got your eyes you got your back to the the quarterback so the fact that they play zone is going to help them in recognizing quickly when Jackson’s going um they but you do need

A spy and um they they ain’t got nobody who can spy Lamar because they don’t have anybody who can spy Lamar but you that doesn’t mean that you don’t need a spy um it’s also about Gap Integrity if you’re supposed to rush outside stay outside don’t try to be a hero because

The type of guy who gets in front of neither is ex type of guy who gets in front of a group and goes rah rah rah you know this is the the the the vocal leader um Juan Lopez says man oh hold on hold on do I not get the Chim I was

Joking by the way yes ramse is a good leader but he’s not not he’s not like like Omar said he’s not a an overly vocal guy go ahead Juan Juan my man Christian Wilkins is Gonna Hurt Steve Ross listen Steve Ross is not this fragile old man that y’all think he is

Um I haven’t checked with him lately but the last time I heard he did like something like 50 50 levels of stairs and not like a stair Master but his actual stairs in his building he’d do floors he’d walk up instead of using the elevator and or or that’s the exercise I

Got to check to see if he’s still you know keeping that up but you know he’s back on these streets and and as a divorce so you know you gotta keep your sexy on so maybe that’s why that’s why he’s doing that but still having said all that I mean Christian Wilkins is

What 315 pounds and Stephen Ross is not 315 pounds I I love I love the fact you know it’s funny that they made made sure everybody knows Christian is the cheapest man on the team and well we knew that by the way yeah we knew that from the beginning when he first joined

The Dolphins and he told us that he was like very proud of that fact yeah well you ain’t that cheap if you sitting courts side at the Heat games and I’ve seen you in in courts out of the Heat games a couple times brother unless they’re free tickets I was gonna say

Maybe somebody’s cing him right you might be right it might be his sorry Dave thank you very much what was the interaction between Tu and teron arms said at the half looks like he he was like pumping him up maybe teron was telling him he was battling through

Stuff I don’t know that that I couldn’t quite make it out I think that was my perception they they you could clearly see that they cut hard KN wasn’t going to show different portions of that conversation probably because maybe teron was telling them I’m soldering through some stuff right now but I think

That happened right after to like teron whiffed on a block and it got to a Creed I don’t think it was a sack because I believe Lester cotton gave up the only sack it was a Parson’s nail in the back where he got called for roughing right before right

Before the touchdown right before the touchdown I think you’re right I think you’re right and it it and it was clearly teron just whiffed on it and you know maybe teron was like apologizing or whatever what not tron’s such a standup guy um but I also love the that what he

Said to Terron at the end where he’s he’s telling them hey we’re running at left teron this is all you like this is all you and your guys like let’s get this done and that was at the end of the game when Jeff Wilson now coincidentally Jeff cuts it right so you

Know I prop props to Jeff for for reading his instincts or or maybe the Dallas Cowboys overplayed it left so um that that was a very I I love so many different moments from that episode I still didn’t didn’t even go through all of them um okay hold on hold on let’s

Weight room sessions do they not do that once the season starts oh absolutely they do that all the time sometimes they do that after practice like they’re they’re different they they wait lift weights all the time bro they lift weights all the time they have yeah and

I don’t know what what the entertainment value of that would be yeah no I I don’t know what the ENT value is either of that like do do I know on Instagram we watch people lift weights all the time but I have no desire to see uh people
