Quick answer: No.
Tony has gotta get to Liv. Fluffing around is counter-productive.
Hovland would be awesome. He is like Rahm. Common sense and can play lights out.
The more Liv signs the better. This would then put the Players in a much better position.
Then the Majors and owgr would have to change.
It's like watching ice cream melt.
LIV is going to be super exciting to follow! Hovland would be a massive signing
Maybe Tony wants brother Gipper included in the deal?
You and your “sources” are going to seem allot less legit after all this finau shit.
Both would be a good fit for LIV
Rham gets his own team so another 3 players needed to fill his team. But that will make it 13 teams, so at least 4 more players will be needed to make up the 14th team (I'm hoping they will make it 16 teams or even 18). Thus a min of 7 players have to join soon. Think one has to keep in mind some Ryder Cup team mates of Jon, and colorful players with huge following from the US like Max and Ricky, and then 2 Ausies maybe to take the 2 spots on Cam's team. Anyway, in my opinion I hope that 7 players will come from the following 10 names: (1) TONY FINAU (2) TYRRELL HATTON (3) XANDER SCHAUFFELE (4) JASON DAY (5) RICKIE FOWLER (6) MAX HOMA (7) VIKTOR HOVLAND (8) RYAN FOX (9) ADRIAN MERONK (10) TOMMY FLEETWOOD
B9 was speculating that Hideki would be moving to Liv. I think that would make much sense as Liv would get massive following in Japan.
it seems like its easier for europeans to go- their allegiance to pga has no patriotic bent. DP is sold out and PGA treats DP tour like Korn Ferry + ( and not much plus). Viktor will be super cool.
Not interested in Finau, very interested in HOVLAND joining LIV Golf. The biggest financial loser seems to be Adam Scott, especially considering the resurgence of golf in Australia because of LIV Golf Adelaide and Greg Norman.
No chance Hovland is joining Liv
i cant see how Liv could not afford to still give Finau 85 million. There main focus is to destabilize PGA tour ….it would be a huge error on there part. my feeling would be they pulled team ownership for Tony and he would just join as a regular player and join a team since Rahm has his team already.
Not a Tony Finau fan anyways, he supported the BLM riots. Good news.
If these teams are so valuable how come there hasnt been one outside investor purchase interest in any of the teams ?
Even if they go…liv is still boring. I'm sorry I wish it wasn't, but it is. I want to like it
I like Liv, but u cannot offer a player 85 million then cut it to 25 million?
I heard from someone close to Tony’s family that the majors is the main issue holding Tony back. I can agree with that because from my view that is the main thing holding many guys back, especially after June 6.
I get LIv giving big signing money to major champions, especially recent ones who will be at all the majors for five years.
But the guys making the bigger sacrifice are the Tony Finaus and Viktor Hovland a of the world who don’t have 5 years of major security.
Viktor should be offered huge money after he wins a majors in 24.
Tony needs to be given more than 85$ mill to make the move, going down is a mistake by pif-LIv imo. 20$ mill is insulting.
They have all the big bomber boys, but Tony is missing.
Also I’ve seen it here in Hawaii, the Polynesian community perks up when Tony finau is involved. Just like Hovland is big for Norway, or Rahm for Spain, and of course Hideki for Japan, Tony is big for a bunch of people from all over Polynesia, Hawaii, Utah.
Also honestly Tony finau may truly be the considered the nicest man in golf. He’s a big catch. But he is also still dealing with those cases from predatory investors when they were poor as heck. So more reason LIv Needs to
Work with Tony and not strong arm him.
Tony is in the group that should own part of a team.
I know it probably won’t happen but what I wouldn’t give to see rahm, Sergio and hatton on the fireballs together. Who should be the perfect 4th member?
The teams will be worth billions in a few years!
What stops the league from just creating new teams and eliminating / relegating under-performing ones ? Is their a charter restriction ? If the league was thinking long-term why did they give equity to Kaymer in the first place ? They've got too many captains on the back nine if not the final one or two holes of their career. They need to have some sort of relegation so under-performing captains need to think about giving out a portion of their equity / paying cash to assist in recruiting new players from other teams and outside the league
Finau was looking at $80+ million and would be down to $20+ million. As someone that works for a living and pays $1000s on golf I have no idea how they think anyone could live off $20 million to golf😂
Traduce please
The Masters and the other majors need to step in ban these guys.
Mr Short Game with his finger on the pulse !! I love it !! Nice work Matt ! Not only do you get good scoops but you are great at describing them to all us golfaholics out here. Thank you !
LIV doesn’t need Tony
Finau is worth more than 85m, and Hovland just made a statement. He'sstaying with the PGA, but does voice his opinion how inadequate the PGA has been in giving info to players.
One big problem . Kaymer is just a capt not an equity owner
I'm surprised more players haven't left the pga tour by now
This LIV Ponzi scheme is hilarious. Pure speculation. 😂😂😂
Tony is a good man….he should hold out for his figure, whatever that is.
Hovland already said no, again. Finau is questionable because he hasn’t won a major.
Hatton already signed up for events beyond the start of LIV season.
