  1. Professional golfers play golf for money like any pro athlete. The money will eventually dictate where everyone goes.

  2. PGA management is obviously corrupt and Phil Michelson was right all the time. Jay Monahan has been the Don King of golf.

  3. All the players who towed the PGA party lines to the public were then betrayed, so I guess now it's every man for himself.

Why we are hearing "It's no big deal" and "Nobody watches it" from certain quarters, to the rest of the world he is a legend and people will be watching him irrespective of where he plays, golf is not owned by the PGA, The players are the stars.

Also all Rahm's Major sponsors are 100% behind him, what does that tell you about future media deals for LIV.

Make no mistake LIV will get bigger and bigger, fuelled by all the negativity and disrespect it has been constantly getting from one corner. (it's a mountain of free publicity)

  4. It doesn't matter most people only watch the majors. After the prior winners just divvy up a set number of slots from each league. It's not that complicated.

  5. Think about this. The majority of the players that left for LIV, had beef with the PGA.
Their transaction was easy. Rahm, was being treated like a second class golfer.
The PGA never promoted his brand and made Woods and Mcilroy the face of the PGA.
So Rahm gets the last laugh.

  6. Can we stop talking about Rahm to LIV and the PGA Tour fumbling the entire situation? LIV is here to stay and people need to get over it. The real problem is the ball roll back. That is the most stupid decision the golf governing bodies could have done to the game. The people need to come together and stop that. It effects us all, the LIV PGA Tour drama doesnt effect us one bit.

  7. The deal the PGA did was to keep their BOOKS closed is why they joined, but the PGA is a sinking ship and their monopoly I hope is gone!!
Golf needed a shot in the arm with something New as I am 63 years old and have watched golf since 1970 and have played the game for 48 years , and I have not watched the PGA or any majors for about 5 years !!

What these guys have truly forgotten is that the FANS & their MONEY is what makes them a so-called PAY CHECK, NOT sponsors and its OUR money they are putting UP from buying PRODUCT , they are NOTHING MORE THAN ENTERTAINMENT , thats it , ENTERTAINMENT , like a Circus Monkey !!!!
The PGA & its players have become STALE and SLOW as turtles and unwatchable , and I have watched LIV and actually enjoyed watching something new and exciting to ME !!!
Traditions are gone, and LIV will take golf WORLD WIDE as the game of golf just doesn't revolve around America any more !!!
LIV can start NEW world wide traditions for the up an coming golfers, Majors in every country !

The USGA & R&A need to be disbanded as its not 1778 any more and the rules need a serious UPGRADE form all the 1778 Lawyered GOBBLY GOOK BULLSHIT thats in that rule book , it needs simplified and more direct !!! Goats aren't mowing the grass anymore!!!
The USGA & R&A should have stopped the size of driver heads at 330 CC 30 years ago as I seen the writing on the wall , now we are rolling the ball back ………LOL

Golf has needed something and this is a way forward IMO from an OLD man that gets it , things change !!!!
Monahan should have sat down with Greg Norman and hashed out a good direction for golf , not turning golf into a war as the PGA had not a chance in hell to compete with BILLIONS of Dollars !!!

  8. Best takes I've heard on this subject yet. How can any reasonable person hold any current PGAT accountable for jumping ship and going to LIV after the tours commissioner, Jay Monahan, has time and again thrown these guys under the bus for carrying his water only for him to do a backroom deal in secret with the supposed enemy? Once trust in leadership is lost, there's no repairing it.

  9. Cracks were exposed after Jay messed up again big time this summer with the merger announcement fiasco.

  10. In years to come this will be a case study in how to mismanage a sporting organization.

  11. Jon is being polite and gracious. While Jon was saying loyal things about the PGA – the PGA Executives were deceiving and manipulating Jon and other PGA players. Jon really had to leave the PGA, and was lucky to get his $600 Million. The PGA no longer has the best golfers & lost badly to the European Tour players recently. The PGA Executives (early retirement packages) really should have already resigned and let new Management rebuild or replace the PGA with a National Golf League for golf in North America.
