LIV = TRASH – GOOD RIDDENS! After all Rahms talking about LIV and staying with the PGA he still defects. Gotta love it!
The PGA must put on a hell of a trip to Maui if that’s what’s holding up all these announcements.
If they’re going they’re probably waiting for LIV to put another 0 at the end of the cheque. Rahm can go to the majors for a few years but the others need the money because theyre giving up relevance.
LIV doesn't need the USA audience to thrive. They have the rest of the world to mine for TV and in person crowds. Valderrama will be packed if Rahm joins. They add Matsuyams too and it's over. They will be permanently sustainable.
Phil and Bubba said this would happen. Everyone on the golf channel laughed. Well it isn't so funny now is it
epic…can't wait
Think you are on the money and the sooner they play a full field with no gaps, the better for fans and TV. Play 54, then the best 18 scoring individuals play another 18 to determine the winner, plus also makes LIV eligible for ranking points, that's the way to make LIV goIf mature IMHO
No need to do a merger with LIV. Soon all the great golfers will be in their camp. Hold this deal up for another year and it will faint into the past.
I'll still pass on watching LIV. Just not for me. I hate the team aspect to it (Perez riding coat tails with terrible golf but still cashes in?), I very much dislike the music over every shot (you do you but I am not a fan of music when I play), I still see it as carefree exhibition golf, I see ZERO grind, Its unwatchable on TV (moves waaaay to quick for me to watch and I dont understand what half the stuff is on the screen with Team scoring), the fans do not seem to be engaged with whats happening on each hole (other than how many beers get consumed) and I think yelling mashed potatoes is odd. But hey – thats me. LIV won't care that I'm not watching. Pity about Rhambo and Cam Smith though – I liked watching those dudes on weekends. I'll still see 'em at Majors though so I hope they don't go soft and loose the grind. Cam Smith sure has. Talk about lame. From wining the Open and being labeled as one of the putting greats to ZERO (ish). Oh well.
Well, at least Rory will be able to win something worthwhile now, as all the good players will have gone to LIV. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
So time to shut down the PGA
Paddy Ice 🥶 🥶 making a team?
Rahm, the competitor, would never let a "Gipper" on his team…unless it was his own type of "Gipper".
You can never be filthy rich enough I guess.
i think it would be so cool on the non ryder cup years to have Liv vs PGATour 12 v 12 ryder cup style. Talent seems comparable and would be awesome to watch. I personally think if these three you mention follow Rahm to LIV then the LIV guys might have the advantage in that 12 v 12
money talks, go
So awesome!
do a video when to play a draw and when to play a fade. explain the concepts behind them.
Very interesting information Matt on players about go to to LIV! Enough money talks and will probably make a lot of high level PGA players walk! I don't know if the brother thing is panning out too well though! Also, in Wolf's case, neither do personalities!! An interesting perspective though! You've named several high level PGA golfers who are thinking about transitioning. The PGA is going to have to wake up and do something or their tour will be made up of "B" list pro's.
For the amount of money being offered, it would almost be irresponsible to turn it down, considering how all these guys have charitable foundations set up that will greatly benefit from these huge sums. Given that they will likely be able to play the majors still, they can still leave their mark on "history."
At this point, the majors are all that matters, maybe the Players. Does it really matter what tour players are on anymore
Cantlay and Schauffele are pals and a deadly team, it makes sense that they would go together. Co-captains/co-owners?
If this continues, Greg Norman will have destroyed pga, he has always said got to have competition and no monopoly , he may end up with a monopoly himself, he was not the man to head liv, he doesn't have much time for the pga tour
I thought the PGA and LIV were working together now? What did I miss?
If Rahm and Finau goes I have ZERO reason to watch PGA tour and I’m so excited to not have to watch that boring ass coverage.
FLMAO, multi-millionaires and still need a free Maui vacation….
People have to remember that LIV is only new. Each year they will grow & make changes easily without going through the machinations & back end deals & rubbish of other tours. One comment below was they hated the thumping music. Well it's never bothered myself on TV & being at the LIV Adelaide event last April it gave the whole event a fun feel to it & everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. Plus to say that no one goes to LIV events is just not accurate. LIV Adelaide, LIV London, LIV Bedminster, LIV Andalucia all had great crowds if not sold out. Again LIV is only new & aspiring to a younger audience which golf badly needs worldwide & considering other sports attracting fans. As far as Jon Rahm going to LIV have no issues as he has never spoken ill of LIV outside of not being a fan of the format. As far as Tony Finau it would be a good move on his part. The global landscape of golf fans want a global tour that is of high quality golf not PGAT centric. Sure you're going to get inferior players on any tour but that is part of the process each year as is happening soon in at the LIV Promotions event. Agree more teams would make the appeal & viewing better especially if the likes of Jon Rahm etc come on board but outside of Jon Rahm, Tony Finau, Hideki Matsuyama (a Japanese or Japanese/Korean team would be great), Xander, Si Woo Kim, Sungjae Im (great to have another Korean team or merge with The Ironheads), Viktor Hovland (playing great golf so not sure if he is ready as wants a Major badly) on the European team side of things. The OWGR is a joke as it does not cater for new tours or is it fair. It just plays in the hands of the PGAT. Golf needs to advance, actual golf, not sim golf. Need to get players on an actual golf course to get people in to the sport. Create a fan base, create the appeal, be consistent.
WHY would LIV pay Rahm millions when a deal with PGA due at end of year. LIV PGA deal should eliminate big contracts for PGA players to LIV.
This will never happen, but I'd love to see all world tours merge, with this league type format.
You have your Premier 100 golfers that play say 25 x 4 round tournaments in a season.
After the season is complete.
20 golfers from 81st to 100 will get relegated to the 2nd tier which has two leagues x 100. In these 2 leagues, the top 10s get promoted, and 20 from each get relegated.
So like a pyramid, the 3rd tier would have 4 leagues x 100. Again top 10 of each gain promotion, with 20 relegated.
So that's 700 golfers.
Include tier 4 and you've another 800.
Tier 5, another 1600.
3100 golfers with 5 tiers.
Then they could have a multitude of local qualifiers across the world so everyone has a chance of "making it".
Every country could host tournaments with a format like this.. The game could be huge.
Last chance to get the stupid huge money before it’s taken away
Funny to listen to you , trying to male big announcement…
My source said …. Money talk anything else is shite
Disappointed in people that said they were not going now going
Just hope the sport committee that forks the cash does not change their mind …..
it would not be the first time they do it ….
That would be awesome!!
Shame all these players taking money over tradition and history. Really surprised PGA does not have a non-compete clause. I know it is a lot of money but to be serious I’d rather play in a game where winning means something. Who has won on LIV in any of their tournaments? Only YouTube watchers would know. Major tournaments about to lose a lot of viewers if they continue to allow LIV players in, unless they are former winners.
Yeppers hes going , I think your right on the money , open the flood gates
Good time to GO GO GO!
It’s golf why the hell are they getting paid all this money … I just don’t get it
Why are they paying all this money for golfers? $300m that’s just insane .. meanwhile the rest of us fight for scraps
Jeez, how good must Maui be? Signing for $300m but wait till we get our free week in Maui? Party on Maui
This would be awesome.
Sounds like good info to me ! 👍
I trust, you are spot on correct Matt.
LIV Golf without the retarted golfball rollback? yeah leave as fast as you can! the R&A/ USGA are screwing up the game of golf. I they could add more bunkers, hazards, tighter fairways for PGA tour but they went with a golfball rollback that make amatuers have to buy a competition ball… I play 12 FSGA tournaments and 12 club tournament (24) a year now i have to pay extra $$ for comp balls! screw the usga/r&a for ruining the game.
I would jump ship in a minute for big money, but is that $ guaranteed if a merger happens soon? What's the value of team ownership if LIV dissolves into PGA? I'm sure these guys going to LIV are thinking I better cash in now because either we merge or LIV takes off and the upfront money will diminish.
Cash is king with these guys and it shows the world that the Saudis can buy whatever and whomever they want…. for the most part.
I say it’s true. At the end of the day it’s still a business.
I watch anything and all golf. When I watch LIV, it looks fun to see live and in the time watched, I see as many or more great shots. I don’t know if I’d watch football or soccer if the games were 7-9 hours long. The shotgun starts really changes it.
The PGA is still the PGA. They have the history and most prestigious events. That will never change. So why wouldn’t they want to truly showcase the best of the best?
Anyway sorry for rambling on. I just love golf. And your channel is not that bad. lol
Unfortunately Jay Monahan ran the tour into the ground. Does anyone still watch the pga tour?
Great to here the news as I’m fascinated by LIV product, any news on Si Woo Kim going ?
Jay Monaghan ruined the PGA, Rory ruined himself, Tiger left holding the bag.
