FEEL Tiger’s swing now: https://rotaryswing.com/c4/112529-swing-like-the-goat
The reality is, it’s easier than what you’re doing now. His swing is simpler because it’s based around a simple throwing pattern.

I practised the power move for 2 hours.. went out, and irons as short as ever.. this is after practising dead drill literally everday, all winter, and still suck.. im goin back to fishing!. Lol..i must really suck
Former very happy customer here. I'm sold. Going to try this on the range tomorrow!
Good analysis video!! I think Tiger is left-handed. So it doesn't need to be the "dominant" hand. I also studied the year2000 Tiger/Harmon swing and it looks pretty much similar to Mike Malaskas. The trail arm/hand dominant with the shaft in front of you always and not behind (stuck position). It's clear on both Taylor Made 9windows video and the other one with TM Tiger and Morikawa video which Tiger "slaps" the ball so differently (even the sound) compared to Morikawa with basically his right hand. So, i tried to copy that, and i had to open the face at address big time. And only then i could manage to hit well. I think the problem is, we amateurs, shut the face tremendously at address and/or in the downswing. And then the classic amateur mistakes happen.
Again, nice video of yours!!👍
I'm 67 and a 6 hc. Play off the white tees. There has been some loss of distance but I knew it wasn't my age cause I don't feel different from 20 years ago. Saw your video about Tiger, swinging rand hand dominant etc and practiced it on my lawn last night. Went to play at my home club today. Started with a beautiful drive with 3 wood and the next 3 drivers were a bit hooky. And then things clicked. I did not miss another fairway, but, it was windy, and into the wind on 2 par 5s I hit 280 yds and 305 yds, amongst others. Was 2 yds short of an uphill 560 yds par 5, hitting 5 wood into a wind from 240 yds. I left 7 shots on the course with 4 three putts and a few chips that were too strong and played 82 on a long course but with quick fairways. Thank you, its easy to train the trail arm and hand, especially if you use a mirror. I was lead arm dominant as far as defining the swing path is concerned but now I implement the trail hand swing feel from swing initiation, to the top and the directional change using my elbow that comes in. That video of yours is, to me, a game changer. I had that motion years ago but I think it's very easy to lose. You rock!
Love hearing the story of how you added a trail sided model into your teaching. You mentioned before that once you get the lead side down, there’s little maintenance needed. Would you say that’s an advantage of lead side or can you also have low maintenance with trail side?
I’m loving this whole series, Chuck! I happened to deep dive Rotary Swing while on vacation so I tried it swinging a putter playing mini-golf and it already feels like something I’m going to love with my non-putter clubs! 😂
Honestly love this stuff you're doing and how you explain it. I'm such a swing nerd and it's so easy to go down a rabbit hole. I sometimes think I'm not even searching for the perfect swing to use but more so just to see what other ways there is to swing Lol. I'm at the point where I can choose either lead or trail to swing with and I can't really figure out which is better.
Using less body though definitely feels better but I feel less consistent where as trail arm side I feel way less stress on the body but have to deal with more timing and a tad more thinking. Pros and cons and I need to eventually choose one lol
I love this, could you please make them short
Solid Gold!!!
After two months of health issues, I finally got a chance to go to the range and try to apply some of the trail side concepts. I saw results right away. The external rotation of the trail arm is huge. The elbow to pocket thought as well. The main thing for me though was to forget about rotation on the downswing (not easy after a lifetime of trying to lead with the body and decisively turn). Now it’s post up only but no turn coming into the ball. And throw the club sidearm into the ball. Like a second baseman turning a double play. Of course turn happens in the downswing but it feels like a result rather than a goal of the downswing. What I got was an automatic draw. It was almost impossible to do anything but swing from the inside with a shallow attack. And it was definitely less effort than my lead side driven swing. I did not see an increase in speed/distance but I wasn’t really trying to do that. I was trying to get consistent, high quality strikes with a repeatable ball flight. That did happen. I believe I will be able to ramp up speed as these movements get better ingrained. So far so good.
Trail side may help me start the downswing with the legs. I’ve hit upper 120s swing speed consistently with left side swinging but my move causes high spin from the slight lunge. This just might help me hang back and whip it a bit more. At my height (6’5”) I feel like swing speed should be in the 130s
What if you swing right handed but you’re a left handed thrower?
This might be best instruction video.
