Can we have more plays with Robinson and Gibson in the backfield? Falcons Defense had no idea what to do on Gibson TD. Also more K-Hudson. He looks ready to show what he’s got.
Thought they should have gone to the run at 24-10. Keep the comeback kid Falcons off the field. Keep the fans out of it. There's timing involved. That was the time. And it is actually MORE aggressive than the pass in that situation. You are saying "This is the end, Beautiful Friend". But a win is a win.
Offense started playing protection way to early. …playing “not to lose”.
The Commanders didn’t win near as much the Falcons lost. Sam cannot continue to keep taking sacks or he’s not going to last. Eric Bieniemy needs to call more plays to get the ball out of Howell’s hands faster. For some reason EB adjust play calling that was working then got away from it and calls long developing plays. If Sam won’t throw away the ball you need to call plays he doesn’t have a choice.
The defensive line was a net negative, except Toohill, who deserves more playing time. Toohill prove last year he deserves more opportunities. He’s faster than I remember and he’s a smart discipled player.
Terry is the best player on offense and it was good to see them feed him the ball early, but need to use him more.
Tell her to stop saying "ya know" it makes her sound very un prepared and trying to fill a sentence. Love ya'll
Barton is playjng faster and better. Chase Young still seems to be a liability. I thought Toohill plays better. Even last year Toohill played disciplined ball and on his end.
I am not surprised by his performance. 👍🏾
Special teams won the game. Which is a very good thing. Forbes could see more special teams action.
Think it’s worth mentioning Quan, although it got called back his blitz was delightful
We're never happy! It's a dub 🍾
That was great effort and focus. Atlanta is a good team. That was a quality road W. They are playing exciting football and the culture is strong. I don't think we are there yet, but I really like the resiliency.
This is why George Allen wouldn’t start rookies. They ruin team cohesion and continuity with their fumbles, missed assignments and total cluelessness.
Great win. I was in the building and it was a lot of Washington fans. Defense is still an issue. Ridder threw for 300 yards and Drake London having 100 yards is not good. No pressure from the D-line is still an issue. But overall they were ok. EB play calling is leaving too much to be desired. 35 yards in the second half is crazy. Not having 200 yards offense is crazy as well. And if you watched Ridder he will throw Interceptions. If you don’t get any on him then you have to be a horrible defense.
Good analysis Nicki and John-thank you!
Casey had a game. Chase missed some easy sacks and always gives up the edge. He is an elite athlete. I wish he could translate that to the game.
I wish that we hadn't gotten so conservative on offense in the second half. Failed run plays and stalled drives almost lost the game for us. That last drive on offense with a chance to keep the ball away from Atlanta was awful. Lets NOT go back to last year's "two short runs then a third and long" formula!
It's Lit? 😑
Hudson HAS to start PERIOD !!! Run more 4-3 if you have too , to me it works better than the 5-2 , it wasn’t a huge hole in the middle of the defense like it usually is.
Howell, the most sacks with the least amount of blitzes–very perceptive. One thing I noticed is when the pocket breaks down his first response is to pull it down and run. If he wants to eliminate the third and fifteens he needs to learn to throw the ball away.
Read an article in The Athletic about both Atlanta's OC Smith and their QB Ridder, and it sounded a whole lot like us last year with ST and Wentz. Basically bad time management and getting plays in from the sideline and the QB throwing INTs, etc. As far as us, I thought the last quarter we did some things on offense that seemed to help Atlanta both with time and plays called, but I understand we were trying to do what succeeded earlier, and Atlanta knew we would try what succeeded so they defended it well. What I took from this game was how a team that can actually run the ball, can be down 24-10, and still run the ball effectively with plenty of time to win the game. We seem to abandon the game when behind, but I don't believe we have the oline to get RBs into the second level. Ugly win is still a win and we finally got several INTs in 1 game. Toohill looked real good.
Howell has thrown for more yardage in his first 7 games than ANY Washington QB in franchise history.
WHat did you ask Taylor about his Jordans. And can Sam PLEASE autocorrect himself on his pocket presence already?! THROW THE BALL AWAY
Great convo and analysis with you and Nicki!
I would only add that The disrespect for our team showed by Arthur Smith was off the chart.
Throwing out the analytics and going for 4th downs and 2 point conversions lie they were free was incredible.
Glad the football Gods made him pay for it.
Keim ask EB about power running under center those gun runs are getting old
And the defense does not respect play action out of the gun but they definitely would with Brian Robinson running the ball that way
