The 2023 Ryder Cup is the 44th edition and runs between September 25 – October 1. Luke Donald is the European Team Captain and Zach Johnson is the U.S. Team Captain. The U.S. are the reigning champion after winning 19-9 at Whistling Straits in 2021. Every two years, 24 of the best players from Europe and the United States go head-to-head in match play competition. Drama, tension, incredible golf, camaraderie and sportsmanship are served in equal measure, captivating an audience of millions around the world. I was watching the Solheim Cup last weekend and it just clicked with me about just what makes Europe so good, and it's passion. America just doesn't have it. You hear the USA chants and they just feel so hollow and empty; and I went back and watched some clips of Ryder Cups gone by and I get the same feeling. European crowds and the team just have a warmth about them. And it is Seve that embodies that. And that is something the americans will never have. They will always just be a group of golfers, whereas the Europeans are a family.

sure it's a controversial opinion, but anyone else feel the Seve thing is a tad overdone by Europe every time the Ryder cup comes around.. I get he was a legend but there have been many. Next we'll be having a moments silence for him before every round.
