There’s not much in this world I believe in, and I have no data to back this up, but I genuinely believe that GoodGood does not do this
feazing
Lol so you’re taking this random dudes tweet as a legitimate source? Guy says social media is fake and just makes an out of the park claim with 0 credibility.
there’s also always 1 singular divot, would be obvious if any creator sat there for “30 shots”
WackyArmInflatable
It’s a weird situation with social media golf. Like a lot of social media, it gives you a false exception of reality.
A lot of these guys are good golfers – but they act all let down when they don’t stick a wedge to 5 feet or make every 20 foot putt. In reality not even the pros aren’t doing that. And yet there is a reason why not a single social media golfer (Bryan Bros excluded) are actual tour pros.
It’s kind of weird to create this narrative that you’re an amazing golfer, but also can’t even sniff a cut at a local tournament.
Bright_Age_3638
I’ve always operated on the assumption that the golf they play is real but the trick shots are absolutely multiple takes and they post the best.
As far as divots go there’s been some videos where I really question whether they do fill them with sand. I think they fill them but sometimes the editing makes it seem as though they didn’t.
JuanitoTheBuck
The only thing Ive been skeptical of is when they hit a shitty shot off line (Garrett seems to he the main culprit on this) turns out they “have a shot.”
SaSaSussudio
I can definitely see this happening I don’t think they do this every round but think about how some people have off days they wanna show good content so keeping it close is in their best interest. If dude was telling the truth why didn’t he get a video?
TeGro
Do they tell everyone at the live events to get excited on the 20th shot?
PhychedelcSunset420

KatanasnKFC
I mean they do hole in one challengers where they fire 50 shots each at a green and play the whole thing…
Element202
They would run out of daylight if they did this as a 6-some most of the time. Also most videos they are trying to keep the pace of play decent. There’s enough bad shots that negate Good Good from doing this.
mrphilintheblanks
lol. trust me, bro.
rdubyeah
I think a lot of the popular channels don’t do this. GG, BDS, Grant, BryanBros, etc… but some of the up and coming ones do. They need a reason for people to watch and a shanked ball isn’t gonna work for that lol.
There’s been a couple times though that I think the groups have “found” a ball that was likely lost for the sake of competition. I remember one BDS vid where bob’s ball was cruising for the water and editing cut before it landed and then its found inches from the water with no one commenting. But hey, if it makes it a lil more competitive and makes the video better for a small thing like that then i see no issue.
EDIT – Here’s the video and timestamp I’m mentioning. I really think there’s nothing wrong with it but this is the only time it had me thinking hmmmm: https://youtu.be/5vSuzkkqHwM?t=1684
bob_miller_jones
This is such a weak source for Rick to be citing here.
Shows real insecurity. Even if he thought this was real (and he had more solid proof) it’s a useless thing to point out.
The “troop” often has 4 man teams hitting from the same spot (like any group that plays together a lot in scrambles). So 20 guys hitting shots from a similar spot is not even sus.
Existing-Put842
Nah this was definitely Micah haha
Glum-Waltz-7879
This guy’s a douche nozzle with nothing better to do than bad talk guys who make great content with millions of followers.
OddFocus3
Sorry man I don’t have concrete proof I didn’t film them on my phone. I saw four dudes in their foursome all hit multiple tee shots on a drivable par 4 we have (no biggie) but then I watched the video uploaded by goodgood and what was presented on video is not at all what happened in real life on the third tee box. Wasn’t even close.
N3phewJemima
When they play with PGA pros there is zero chance they do this. And i’ve seen those videos where they play with those pros. They’re all very very very good golfers and hit great shots in front of said PGA pros. Therefore, this is bullshit. They probably and likely HAVE done multiple shots before, but for the most part I’m betting the opposite. And they hit errant shots all the time. I’m not buying this one.
z1ggy16
So what, they have a guy on the green picking up balls so that when the 4th approach is filmed landing, you don’t see several balls already there? 🤷♂️
mixmasterbru
My honest thoughts were is that as popular as they have become, if they still did this, someone would have filmed them doing it…
It’s not like all their shots are great, you see a LOT of bad shots in videos. Now if they did it in the past to get a viral video, entirely possible, but now… too much at stake.
Present_Succotash_99
With the divots the good good boys take I highly doubt this is true.. otherwise we’d see such a chewed up spot where they hitting from 🤷
biddilybong
Of course they re-hit sometimes. And they always move the ball for a better lie. There’s a reason they won’t play in many real tournaments and usually shoot 78 when they do like Ben Hadden last week.
Drlock71
Literally just watched a video of Garrett doing exactly that….only he was trying to get a cool shot for video, not actually playing golf, kinda like the trick shot vids
X0P56
When Rick had the boys on he was talking about how good they were. The GG crew has also been open about insta posts and stuff taking more than one take. Their golf matches are legit, though
Paulzor811
Good good definitely doesn’t do this but I know Bob does sports has been known to take a few hits before finally calling the shot. Evidence is by their ground scuffs they leave behind which is usually shown in some videos.
user818474
Just sounds like bullshit or they are talking about someone else. GG plays with pros and does a ton of collabs and it’s obvious from watching them play over the years and how good (some of) their swings are that they would not need to do this. Not to mention they are mostly former competitive/college golfers
Antelopeanus
Probably talking about country club adjacent
Shrinking_Universe22
This isn’t about GG. Since he stressed “very very big” I’d assume it’s something like Dude Perfect (known) or Foreplay.
Flyeaglesfly2929
Plot twist: it’s bob does sports😂
brotherwonderland
I call BS, that isn’t even the style of their videos. Other than Matt’s HIO’s and the couple of hole outs they’ve caught, I’ve never really seen them go “ ape shit” over a shot to try and make their videos more interesting. So why would they need to fake it for? They just show regular golf we see all the time on YouTube.
Berkhovskiyev
I think that post is either not about GG or probably greatly exaggerated or both. I’m convinced the GG boys regularly find lost balls, improve lies etc. but in the end they play to have fun and to make content. I noticed Bubbie moving his ball with his foot from a bad lie in one his last Breaking 75 video’s on his own channel. In reality he would struggle to break 90.
scottironhead
Yeah. You kinda got me thinking about this whole entertainment videos. I saw a video when I was younger about a guy named Neo. Turned out he could fly. That video might be fake too? Don’t get me started about Star Wars… when I get to go to space, I am going to be looking for any and all evidence to see if that was fake too.
LukePendergrass
The dick riding is strong in this thread. Everything suggests these videos are ‘enhanced reality’. It would take 3 seconds to say, ‘we play this thing straight up’ as they mention the lateral hazard caveat. Would be a nice gold star from viewers.
The number of good lies and clean lines back to the pin from the wrong fairway are unlikely. Some of them have placed in legitimate tournaments, but they’re making content in the videos
OnlyCereal4
Seems too late in the game for them to be faking stuff. But you never know of social media.
SilverbackBruh
People will do anything for likes, as long as they aren’t holding anyone up, i dont give a shit, seen people doing this with putts in front of me once, i was starting to get aggravated then noticed we were not catching up. They did a great job of noticing when we were on our way
xmasonx75
Yeah I doubt GG does this. Literally everyone that’s played with them says they have game. Does the occasional errant tee shot somehow manage to stay in play? Sure, but no more often than anyone else I’m playing golf with.
Traditional_Ring224
If you look on their IG story , Matt does say they’re filming a 16 man Ryder cup style video . So that might’ve been what they saw.
