Say what y’all want but he throws matches and shots at times to keep things interesting. When he wants to, the guy goes toe to toe against their pro guests, is up by like 3-4 on GM Golf matches with Kwon, it’s not all the time and he does have bad shots but let’s be real here

That’s funny. I just think he’s human and probably gets a bad thought from time to time just like every golfer.

Garrett chips and putts as well as any pro I have seen. If anyone has been sandbagging recently though it is Kwon. Especially looking at that last knock out match against Steve. If he’s not then his game has really fallen off a cliff.

I was pretty sure he intentionally missed the putt against Steve to give Steve his first knockout (may have been bracket) challenge win a while ago lol.

Can you sandbag when making content with your friends for your fans who are all very well aware of your skill level? Garrett seems to genuinely take pride in his game. I doubt with 5-7 other great golfers around him, he’s throwing to make the content interesting. Sometimes you just have to think logically.

lol it’s funny you mentioned the kwon matches because it’s egregious how hard kwon sandbags those to make them even

I think Garrett plays up/down to the competition. If he’s playing against tough competition, he focuses in. When he’s the better player, he relaxes and plays below his level. Simple as that.

He should play in a real tournament and then you would know exactly how good he is. Don’t know why he is so scared to do it.

  8. Professional-Tip-585

He doesn’t sandbag, he just plays crazy aggressive on GG and takes high risk, high reward shots. On GM he plays more in tournament mode

  9. Fearless_Ice_4612

Obviously they are running a YouTube channel. Most of the gimmies that are handed out are pretty wild and very missable

  10. Brilliant_Macaroon83

I do think he plays down to competition on purpose when it’s challenges but not stroke play

It how golf goes sometimes. When I play with people who are good I play better, when I play with people who are bad I play worse. Not really that shocking, a lot of people are like this!

Garrett has so much innate raw talent it’s kind of nuts. Like yea, the dude lives with a wedge in his hand, but when he’s playing well, he’s borderline unbeatable.

  13. InterestingGuard8962

He plays up or down to competition. If he’s playing better players, he focused more. When he’s the “better golfer” i.e against Steve, he tries to get cute with every shot instead of playing his game.

  14. SillyHuckleberry2355

I just think he doesn’t take it as serious

I agree with everyone that Kwon has been throwing more games. Garrett is just on a hot streak and improving his game (remember when he changed his swing twice, now it’s settled in). In match play anything can happen since he is a scratch golfer, but Kwon definitely has been focusing more on personality and vibe. If Kwon goes full throttle, he will win everything, including against the GG athletes Ben and Brad. If you don’t believe me, just watch his New Zealand content or his last video with the two pros.

Edit: Want to add that Garrett definitely has a soft spot for AJ and Steve, and has noticeably dropped a shot or two on purpose to give them the spotlight. But it’s fine, it works for the content 🤷🏻‍♂️

most of the time he does, sure.

not for the majors, there he’s trying to win.

Not just with good good but with all the YouTube golfers. How many matches end early or are uncompetitive. Almost none. It’s YouTube. It’s about entertainment and money. They gotta keep their audiences attention. If they have to manipulate the situation they do. They find balls just off the fairway that were sliced into the woods, they miss easy putts or chunk a chip on a hole to let their competition back into the match. Again this happens on all channels. Good Good, Grant, Bryant Bros, etc. Just not Micah’s… he’s never ahead. Oh and I’m fine with it. If I want real competitive golf I’ll watch the golf channel. I’d much rather have the cart cams, listen to how they’re going to draw their 7 iron 230 yds into the wind to land it on the slope on the left side of the green so it trickles down to the hole. True entertainment. And I watch ‘‘em all

  18. Odd_Resolve_442

He uses the lamest thumbnails and most click-baity titles on his gm YouTube channel

  19. It was pretty watching it in the Sunday Match verses Micah series when he was 4 shots up and would start going for the “impossible shot” or talk about how “lucky” he was getting, he’s been a stud from the beginning and so consistent.

  20. Enough_Lakers

Golf is hard. Even the best golfers in the world miss cuts.

  21. trippsie_

his job is to literally make content. if true, why would it surprise you? or be a bad thing?

  22. Lol no way I don’t think he’s half as good as he acts like he is. Look how he plays when he’s in tournaments, dude has no x factor

  23. NetBubbly735

Yesterday I played 5 holes at 6 over before starting my match play men’s club league. I then went on to win 3 up and shoot a 37 against a guy who normally kicks my ass. Competition is a big factor.

  24. Dull-Leg1754

So was he sandbagging when he hit that dude in the head?
