We’re working our way through the off-season dead zone, but that didn’t mean we didn’t still have plenty to talk about on this week’s episode of Oilersnation Radio.Kicking off the podcast, we got started with a conversation about Ryan McLeod’s new two-year contract that carries a $2.1 million AAV and whether or not it was a fair deal for both sides. We also looked at how this deal was very similar to the one Klim Kostin signed in Detroit and whether or not it makes sense that the Oilers walked away at that number. From there, we took a few guesses as to what Evan Bouchard will sign for given his spot on the roster and how he is easily the team’s best offensive defenceman. As you’ll hear, talking about the Bouch contract prompted Jay to look way down the line at what this next deal looks like and whether he’s the right fit down the line. We also dove into the news that Jeff Jackson was coming to town as the new CEO of Hockey Ops and what that means for the franchise moving forward. Does bringing in McDavid’s former agent increase the chances of him sticking around? Gord knows we all hope so. Lastly, we wrapped up the Friday episode of Oilersnation Radio with another round of Ask the Idiots, and Hot and Cold performers.

Tyler, why do you always quote goal stats for a 4th liner potential. Why not first quote PIMs and ice time and how many Penalty kill minutes. We don't need more goals
How do you hate Bouchard because he makes 7 million…. When he makes 3.9..?

If I could only have one dessert for the rest of my life it's a toss-up but honestly I'd take the Cheesecake my late Baba made (Paternal Grandmother). It was unusual with a shortbread type crust, not high and with a lemon glaze. Even remembering it reminds me of a remarkable woman. I was truly blessed with my grandmothers (the grandfathers, yeah, they were okay but they didn't cook (lol)). There were amazing and formidable women.
