Truth spinny
If stafford was here in his prime now superbowl
Yes
You can't say that Jared Goff is just along for the ride because if he gets injured the lions season is over, Everything is dependent upon having a healthy Jared Goff because if Nate Sudfeld is the starter the lions are more than likely going to be in last place in the division
2014 Lions underachieved because of Lombardi's b*tch ass. 🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️🤦🏿♂️
Lol he wins a playoff game… done!
To win consistently a team needs a fromt office that makes good decisions and a staff that knows how to maximize talent. The myth that all you need is a great QB to win games and change culture is fabricated by the media. Just look at top QBs. They're teams where trending upwards before they got their QBs. Also Jared Goff won't be the QB next season. He's going to get traded after the season or cut.
Matthew Stafford was a better QB with the Lions than Goff has been or ever will be. Stafford was just more talented. Some of the plays he made with his arm amazed me. Those plays are what cement his legacy in Detroit. Goff doesn’t make the wow plays, so even if the Lions won the superbowl, I’ll be remembering the playmakers like St. Brown and Hutch.
The car race analogy is lacking the fact that the fast car needs a competent driver. A bad driver can lose that race…
Scott Mitchell was a garbage quarterback who was half the reason that Barry Sanders was wasted. He threw ducks at his own receivers, and spiral bullets to the defense. Receivers like Moore and Morton were the reason he looked better than the mediocre also-ran from Miami that he was.
Erik Kramer was 3rd String behind Andre Ware and Rodney Peete, who both went down during the regular season. He was the reason they won their playoff game, but lost to the ultimate superbowl champions in the nfc championships. He was also the reason they won the 1993 NFC Central.
Goff is the GOAT of the Lions.. I live Goff because he isn’t looking for the spot light.. he just does his job and does it very well.. Ben Johnson and the receivers are only good because Goff gets them the ball.. Stafford took Goff team to the Super Bowl.. notice the next year he SUCKED! Goff is the GOAT QB for not only Lions but the league!
Scott Mitchell
You will appreciate Goff when he’s no longer here. Goff is top 10 qb in NFL
The best Lions QB ever is either Stafford or Layne depending on how you want to look at it. Stafford has all the passing records but Layne has the championships. If Goff wins the division and a playoff game he's still not in the discussion. The thing with active players on the team is they always have time to do more. Goff has the potential to get on that level as those two but he won't be on their level by the end of this season. He needs to stick around even longer.
Why are people talking about Mitchell here?
The guy was a complete bum. Dave Krieg Took over for him in 1994 when the team lost to GB in the playoffs.
He had a great season with Sanders, Moore and Perriman, but was ridiculously ineffective after.
I’m seriously shocked people aren’t comparing Goff to Kitna either.
All these guys, Stafford included, were AT BEST middle of the road players.
Order of importance is like
Stafford
Goff
Mitchell
Batch
Kitna
It is such a pathetically low bar it’s almost stupid to talk about. None of those guys is within a miracle mile of the hall of fame.
I’d trade all of them for one season with Patrick Mahomes.
Erik Kramer… and he was the backup
He 100% will be best Qb in history if he wins a playoff game and wins the north
That's like saying any QB can win the north and a Playoff game with this Team right now!!… Someone is a hater…lol
Picking Ben over Andy Reid shows the real hate for Goff. Andy has shown to be one of the best offensive minds over two decades with multiple QB's. Ben has only been good with Goff. In order for Ben to be considered one of the best, he needs to show the capability of being great with multiple QB's. For all we know, Ben is only good because of Goff. Is Josh McDaniels one of the greatest OC's in the NFL? He's only showed to be great with Brady. He failed in Denver. He failed with Derek Carr. He failed as the Rams OC. I think the narrative of what people believed about Goff has made people come to the conclusion that it has to be because of Ben. In reality, we just don't know.
Legacy is what you are remembered for. What do you think of when you look back at Stafford's time in Detroit? I think of great talent. I think of great come from behind wins. I think of some big individual years. I think of huge disappointments. I don't think of winning. I don't think of winning division titles. What if Goff does win the division and a playoff game this year. At that point in time, what is Goff's legacy in Detroit? I think of him turning the franchise around. I think of him having 2 winning seasons in 3 years. I think of him getting the first playoff win and division title in 31 years. Now, longevity does play a part and I don't think that 3 years with the Lion would make Goff's legacy better than Stafford's but it does allow him to be in the conversation. Consecutive division titles and playoff wins would then jump him over Stafford and its not even a conversation.
We let Don Shula way back when and let him go to Baltimore, funny how fast things have change since ownership changed…
Stafford never had an offense AND defense. It was either offense OR defense. If stafford had this offensive line he would light up the stat chart.
It's easy to lead the league in passing when you are always behind but goff had the worst d
Stafford was the king of 3 and outs. Last year Goff had the second fewest 3 and outs in the NFL. Stafford had more talent but he either scored a TD or went 3 and out. Goff is a lot better at being a game manager.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 goff will never surpass Stafford playoffs or not
Hands down stafford jus waiting for goff to get hurt again so hooker can take over and take us to the promise land 🎉
No doubt it has to be Stafford until Goff does something. But Stafford is a legend and even helped the team on his way out by earning a great trade. Spot on guys.
In no way am I a Goff basher, in fact I'm quite the opposite. With that said, Mathew never in all the years he played for the Lions did he have a Team or Support Staff around him like what Goff has. Sheila has given Detroit a totally different Team, She has gutted it and changed It's Identity, Players, Coaches, GM and Front Office.
Scott Mitchell was nothing special. Watch the games.
If we drafted Stafford 3 years ago and he has everything we have now. Stafford would tear it up.
Hey EZ. I dragged raced snowmobile’s. Just anyone can’t jump in a car and win. It takes talent. Especially with snowmobile’s.
Easy Goff if he wins. Matt didn’t simple
I think we be worried bout the quarterbacks who can win games n we don’t give enough credit enough credit to the qbs who don’t lose us games. Stanford won a lot of games in 4-12 season but he then lost us a lot of games too with his ints. Golff arguably had a season that was better then every Stanford season with the lions. Forget passing yards we going off the naked eye
If winning a playoff game is what differentiates them then you gotta put Kramer over Stafford.
This show needs new talent…
I’d take Goff over Stafford
Yeah, saying Goff is "just along for the ride" is ridiculous.
Goff is not just going along for the ride. He is the conductor of the train. The Lions great play in the second half of the 2022 season was driven by exceptionally good play by Goff. If the Lions accomplish major goals in the 2023 season than that is going to be because Goff plays well.
EZ is an idiot
