Smart is the voice for a team, a loosing team. I would not put smart in the first on any nba team. He can be an excellent 6th player, but he is neither a proper point guard nor a 2 guard really. He is there for the defence. The Celtics need a chris paul kind of player. P.s who cares about joe Massula? A coach that doesn't want to call time-outs to design plays for a team, whose players are not really basketball-iq gifted???
Porzingis is a good pick. He will get zero chance with Tatum and Brown, the same way Hayward got zero chance in that team. (he was the only guy passing the ball in his short stint with the Celtics)…
Arkansas did not have a ton of shooting. You did not watch Arkansas. Walsh will be good. He was constantly in foul trouble. He's a Herb Jones type.
I don’t get why hauser doesn’t play more he’s a sharp shooter flamethrower but he isn’t bad on defense ( Robinson, herro ) he’s a good 6’8 and 210 but he’s good/average on defense maybe yeah he isn’t the difference to win the championship but he could give us good mintues in the regular season and it also would help not to burry grant or hauser
I know what Smart has meant to the Celtics but I have been calling for this for years not because Smart is a bad player it's just he doesn't make life easier for Brown or Tatum, he actually has a lot of their same weaknesses, turnovers/decision making. The offense needs to be ran through someone who isn't Smart, Brown, or Tatum. This can happen through a traditional point guard ie Chris Paul or what I called for last season Haliburton, or through a big man that they run sets off of think Sabonis or Jokic, or Bam to some extent.

Personally I think young Marcus is the best ive seen because he was so strong and compact you couldn't bump him off. I thought him going around screens was like a dog slipping under a fence. Even if there wasnt a hole he would make one through raw stength and determination.

Will Porzingis stay healthy (don’t bet on it!). What to do about a PG? (Hell if I know.) Will Walsh, over time, be a good addition? (Health willing, it’s a sure thing, tho he’s not really a scorer. C fans will love him!)
People do seem to forget Brogdon bailed us out in multiple playoff games last year.

This was a no brainer home run robbery trade by Celtics. Shocked Celtics got two 1s instead of Wizards getting them both. Also if Porzingis “your 4th best guy” was such a dumb comment by Bill. If he’s healthy all year he’s def 3rd best player at worst!
Also Bill “Tatum is 6’9”, Brown is 6’8” “ when in reality Tatum is 6’8” and Brown is 6’6”. I do agree though JB’s defense took a step back. Celtics still are stuck with super max or trade him. I say you sign him and always could trade him later unless you can get Dame bc with Dame you’d be awesome. Still you should be elite next yr IF healthy regardless.

It’s crazy how stacked the Celtics are and how good their coaching staff is but they just can’t get over the hump. They currently have 2 guys who can play elite defense (White & RW) and 2 guys who are capable of playing elite defense at times (Brown and Tatum), they have a superstar in Tatum, a great 2-way all star in Brown, a really good stretch big who can play good to great defense in Porzingis, a former 6moy who can still lead an offense in Brogdon, a solid stretch big and veteran in Horford, and a very reliable 2-way player in White. On paper it seems like no other team has a roster that has the same depth and quality as them but they always come up short. The way these guys talk about this team seems like they should’ve won a championship by now.
He absolutely shut down James Harden in the playoffs and his advanced metrics on Jimmy Butler were pretty good do these dudes look at stats before talking. Atlanta series JB was our best player and in the Philly series he was our best player for most of those games, Brown finally had his first bad series and folks start overreacting.
