Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

Great ad for top tracer Rick
I find these videos the best and most interesting I love seeing a great player practice and act like he’s not already amazing
I’m aware (I think) Top Tracer compensations for worse balls. However, I didn’t know about wind. I thought it was able to pick up on that like some form of GPS’ do. I thought this could be the case as I have seen consistency in distances at the range in different weathers.
Great set of tips for maximizing your practice time. I follow a similar approach when I hit balls, warm up with a 7 iron focusing on make a good solid strike. I then hit several shots with 5, 4, and 3. I usually will hit the driver with an emphasis on shot shape. I will finish my session hitting 10-15 balls with my 58 degree wedge at a target green that's at 90 yards with a 30 foot diameter. I keep track of how many shots I hit on the green. Unfortunately, there isn't a TopTracer facility near where I live. Thanks for sharing!
With all of the resources you have access to and time to work on your swing you have no excuse not to be a competitive player at least on some of the smaller tours.

Keep saying it – your left wrist opens up the face the moment you start the back swing. That's why you keep sending it right. You need to think your right wrist is on top of the left wrist in the first half of the takeaway. The back of your left wrist should face target and then the target line as long as possible.

WTF would you go to a driving range when you've a simulator, especially a GCQuad in your personal hitting bay? This doesn't make sense to me, unless it's sponsored by TopTracer.
Love the content Rick, but if you want to get better you need to swing with more rhythm with your shorter clubs. You get real quick and handsy with 9 iron thru 58 degree. You can see this easily on video. Keep up the good work.

Rick I love you and have learned so much from you BUT I just don't get it… There is no way you can improve your game and really know what your club is doing hitting off of a mat…. You can have Top Tracer… Bottom Tracer… Side Tracer…. 😂 It's not gonna matter when u get on the course the minute you hit off grass and take a divot EVERYTHING is going to be different… Please someone help me understand how anyone can simulate their swing off of grass on a mat? Please understand im not trying to be a dick someone help me understand…. Thanks everyone

I wish Toptracer had a feature that gives you the wind speed and direction when you’re hitting your clubs.
I'm brand new to golf and I always set up at the range in line with the flags. It helps so much having an actual target than just whaling it as far as I can
Not that you’re old but do you think you should maybe reevaluate you shafts, lies, and lofts? You’ll lose speed as you get older and sometimes fixing those would help? Idk

Top tracer/trackman ranges are hit & miss. Wouldn’t always trust their yardages even “converted” you can literally see it sailing past a certain yardage sometimes and itl show 30 yards less etc

I do wonder about using TopTracer and sub standard range balls. Surely to get the best out of your practice you need proper golf balls?

There's a course not too far from me that has Top Tracer (they just put it in this year) and I may give it a go when I can find the time.

Grip, Alignment, Swing Path, Strike and Speed. These are the only things I concentrate on. Top Tracer is useful but you don't need it, we have eyes, we can see it ourselves. When it's going wrong, with shot shape go back to hitting it straight. Take out the slightly open/closed clubface. Good video Rick

I’ve watched many of ur videos RS and before i watch this video, you need to get rid of your crazy draws, which leads to a hook. Then you need to work on ur short game. Ok, let’s watch the video.

We have a Top tracer range near where I live in Swindon and it’s great value.
I have one only 10min away, definitely gonna start using more of the features. Mostly just pick a club and do the practice setting
