Maria suggests that most players definitely use hybrids over longer irons because of the following reasons:
– A hybrid is a perfect mix of an iron and a fairway wood
– Hybrids have lower centers of gravity to get the ball in the air
– Hybrids have a wider sole for a lower chance of digging in and hitting it fat
– You still get the loft of an iron
All these advantages make hybrids easier to hit than the longer irons.
