2:00 lol I was 5'6 at 15 now I'm maybe 5'8 if you round
I see Mickaël Piétrus 2.0 w/ Bilal Coulibaly. I hope not but those are the vibes I’m getting.
Boris Diaw averaged 5 ppg the year before being drafted
Does Verno think 6’8 is short?? 😂😂
Cheick Diallo….. averaged 3 pts, 2.5 rbs. Got to see this guy play in person in the first round of the ncaa tournament and he looked like a super hero.
At the beginning of the season, he only played few minutes for the senior team (that the reason why his ppg are so low) but was destroying youth French league. Then he had the opportunity to play more for the senior team. You should only consider what he has done during the 2 last months if you want to talk about ppg or other stats
Edit: they finally talk about it, but it seems that the dude at the right is not aware on how a mean is computed and how he should get over this stat which is not representative of his level)
These dudes dont do no research just talk out there behind. He average 20 in the u1 league and got moved to the senior team. Didnt play a full season and only played 18 minutes a game.
Chris is just incredibly annoying. His inability to wait until Kevin can finish up his thought process is just offputting, especially when he always provides him that courtesy. There's nothing he says that is just that insightful or important that he needs to continously keep interrupting him
Steven Adam’s averaged like 6 and 6 I think
It's bonkers that The Wizards had to trade up to get Coulibaly with all those names left on the board. Also Coulibaly was still playing pro ball until right before the draft so he didn't attend the combine and didn't work out for any teams leading up to the draft because his season as still going. So it's not like all the teams discovered some big secret about him. It's baffling that they traded up especially since the team above them that they traded with seemed pretty happy with Jarice Walker and almost certainly would have taken him trade or not. Unless Indiana held Coulibaly hostage on draft night and told The Wizards they wanted something to give him up. That's the only thing I can think of.
Why would you not bring up stats per 36 minutes?
Verno doesn't know ball
First 5 seconds and the guy is already talking like a casual. Who gave these fools a platform?
No idea how good Coulibaly, but Chris Vernon clearly has absolutely no idea of how the European basketball system works. Plenty of players got picked who had quite low average stats because they already played for decent senior teams.
Patrick Williams
At the 7th pick, if he becomes Pascal Siakam it’s a win.
Comparing a college freshman playing in a system to a guy playing on a pro team. Stupid
Verno is a jacksss
Thon Maker
Giannis averaged 6.3 in 2014 FIBA team.
Giannis only averaged 6.7 so what's your point?
It seems like you didn't watch him play and didn't even take a good look at his stats and his scouting reports. The comparison with Giannis is plain dumb, there is no comparison to make between the two of them.
Bilal is not only a project, he's also proven himself to be a good-to-great defender and a clutch player in professionnal playoffs games. Sometimes Americans forget that European players are facing a much, much stronger competition than NCAA prospects.
Until you look at the grizzlies 2nd round pick.
And this was for a crap team
Verno is absolutely clueless here. Check some of the highest drafted Euro guys, it is absolutely normal to average LESS than 5 points per game and get drafted HIGH, these guys are teennagers playing in good PRO leagues.
Dragan Bender – DNP-CO in most of his games that year (BUSTED like a clown tho)
James Nnaji drafted this YEAR too – 4.9 ppg in ACB and 2.0 ppg. in EL
Deni Avdija 4.0 ppg in EL the year he got drafted
Frank Ntlikina 5.2 ppg.
Mario Hezonaja 4.6 ppg in ACB, 7.7 ppg in EL tho
It happens all the time. Luka Doncic was best player in EUrope, most accomplished draft prospect ever and best Euro teenager since Arvydas. He won MVP, how many point you all think he averaged? 15.0 ppg… What you guys expect from teenagers, if you think they get drafted because they dominated EUros, thats aint it brother, what do you expect, of course he averaged 5 ppg. thats amazing for an 18 year old on freaking French final team.
He was at 10 prof for the whole second part of the year
This guy is gonna be a HUGE SUPERSTAR in the nba, GARUNTEE IT!… He's a killer, and he's hungry! HUGE WIN for The Wizards
He averaged 12
you guys are so dumb, this kid is 18 and playing a big role in a professional basketball team. He is not playing in college where all u play for is to get drafted, he played for a team with grown men and in the finals of the top top domestic league in France. If you look at some of his game in the playoffs he delivered big and had 8 or 9 points in each game in the finals which in europe basketball is really impressive considering he is only 18. So this kid has great potential and is already somewhat used to being a pro.
Id bet my life that indy wasnt gonna pick bilal over jarace, washington wasted 2 2nds, thats 1/3 of the draft capital they got for beal😂
Brandon Jennings
Brandon Jennings avg 5 points in Europe before he was drafted
Darko averaged like 4 points a game in Europe and still got drafted 2
Daniel Orton in 2010 had like 2 ppg on Kentucky
There’s plenty of guy that averaged less then 5 points a game lol come on guy, you ever done any draft research?
Kevin starts talking= skip fwd, skip fwd, skip fwd
Lol, everyone in the comments posting players who were drafted with 5ppg or less to "own" verno… and they're all busts 😂 You're making his point for him. It's a red flag
Brandon jennings averaged 5ppg overseas and got drafted first round
