Had a hole out eagle from 150 with a Kirkland. Had an albatross with a noodle. But on premium courses I play a premium ball.
Another great vid, I enjoy what you all are doing. I can tell just from my own experience at times playing both those balls (I'm an 18 handicap), for me the Kirkland as good as it preformed just felt a tad harder than the ProV1. Other than that there is really not that much difference between both balls. If looking to save a few dollars and ger almost equal performance, then for sure go with Kirkland. Now for myself my gamer ball is the Bridgestone Tour BX (avg swing speed 108-110) It still gets good green spin, not as much as the ProV1X I use to play, but I feel more consistent.
Just as a side thought, another ball you might think about trying and doing a compare review is the Vise Pro Plus, found this one pretty good and for me was a tad better overall than the Kirkland
The Kirkland KSIG V2 sits in between the ProV1 and ProV1X for compression. I've found that off the driver the Kirkland is about 2mph slower on ballspeed then the ProV1X and about 10-15 yards shorter on average due to the combination of more spin and slightly less ball speed. The KSIG spins more with all full shots from wedge up to driver but spins less around the greens more similar to harder cover mid level balls in the $30-40 range per dozen. For the right player the KSIG ball is great. I happen to be a higher speed lower spin player so when I'm not striking the ball well the KSIG helps keep the spin from dropping to low and softens out the high toe hook. If you are a high spin slicer the KSIG will probably kill your performance which is why the ProV1 probably performed better although with that massive gap with one of the players iron distances that seems to be purely the players influence as I have only found the Ksig to be about 5 yards shorter with my 7 iron than a ProV1 but my PXG Gen3 XPs are low spin. The new 0317 ST darks just arrived so if I add more spin maybe the prov1s might separate more. The only reason I switch from the KSIG V2 to a ProV1X in amateur tournaments is manufacturing tolerances and green side spin other wise in casual rounds the KSIG for me that is, will out perform any mid level to lower end premium ball from tee to approach as long as I'm hitting GIRs the ball difference is negligible in fact I have shot some of my best scores with the Kirkland. I wish it came in yellow.
Great job! Love the video!
Great video, would you review the Srixon Q-star tour divide balls next?
I paid $22 for 24 Kirkland balls and the Kirkland are very similar
Hot metal pros launch piss missiles absolutely love them!
I play kirlland balls and other premium balls. I think that if you're not striking the balls square hit really don't matter about what balls are being used. If your game isn't good 125 and in. Your losing strokes anyway.thats for the video..
I just played my first round with the Costco balls and shot my best round the 2 games prior I used the pro v1 not saying it's a better ball but at my level it's not worth the extra dollars.
The Maxfli tour and tour x are sold at Dicks Sporting goods, I would love you to put these vs prov, I started playing them last year and they are great , 2 dozen for 60 bucks
I don’t think I was really going to comment anything on here until your last statement about the snobbery about playing a Kirkland golf ball. The numbers that you posted with the seven iron obviously had some discrepancies within the data set because I have played the Kirkland for two years both models the first GEN and the second GEN and they do play shorter but not anywhere close to what you guys were hitting . So you think it’s an insult for a golf ball to be sold at a very reasonable price because it’s piggybacking off the R&D of major manufacturers? Those major manufacturers are trying to get you to pay $55 out the store for 12 golf balls vs 35$ for 24… the fact that the Kirkland was engineered to play from the green to the tea box and not vice versa like most cheap balls is a first of its kind for an inexpensive golf ball.
May want to temper your Maxfli comment. The Tour CG and Tour X CG are demonstrably better balls than the K-sig.
Titleist sued Costco for a reason. The OG black box Kirkland balls were too close to Pro V1
Another great review guys!! Looking forward to each video! Thanks again!
Something's weird … 211 yards for 7 iron and only 270 for driver? lol
I haven’t seen these balls at my Costco I go to in Memphis, TN. I’ve used them all of 2022 but haven’t seen any in stock in 2023. Is anyone else having this problem?
I just assumed they stopped making them until I found people posting YT reviews in 2023
Can you do titleist prov1 vs maxfli tour
Your using hot irons for a ball comparison lol of course your numbers are all over the place
Imagine kissing your club after a 240 yd drive on a simulator….cringe as hell. Also if you’re gonna conduct a study the least you can do is not show bias towards the ball you like/favor and dislike.
I've been playing the Kirkland ball since the spring of 2022… I picked up 20 boxes of the Kirkland V2, and recently picked up 20 boxes of the new Kirkland 2023 ball.. I have no issue playing the Kirkland ball, and if i do happen to lose one, i don't feel as bad vs losing a 5$ ProV1 or TP5. It would be interesting to see people play the Kirkland ball for a summer to see how it affects their scoring vs their normal ball.
Im a former 4 handicap player. I had 5-6 years of 1-2 rounds a year my game suffered and so has my back. Im going through a swing change to save my body, these balls are ideal for me especially for the round the green performance – i was always Prov1 but when your losing 2 or 3 a round its a great alternative just now for me 😊
I've tried and tested the Kirkland. It's got good spin around the greens, but that's about it. It's pretty slow and VERY spinny and feels like crap. I encourage everyone out there to play TaylorMade Tour Response. That's the ball I play and I want you guys to buy a LOT of them. And hit them into the tall grass so I can find them and play them for free.
But seriously, if you're very value-conscious, buy the Titleist TruFeel or the Vice Drive ball. Both around $20-$25 per dozen. Despite Titleist's marketing blather, the ball simply doesn't make that much difference.
