Duran, Hearns, Hagler, Leonard… Greats.
Matchups are 75% of the bout. Hearns didn't match up well with Barkley, hence Barkley was the only man to beat Hearns twice. To beat Barkley, you have to have a great chin, be a great brawler, and get inside and brawl. Duran was the guy to beat Barkley, and did, flooring him once. Hearns chin was good, not great, and he wasn't a brawler to the degree Duran was.
Iran Barkley beating Hearns in this fight and again a few years later is what motivated James Toney to do what he did to Barkley, one of James' finest performances and one of the most vicious beatdown ever.
