  1. That was beautiful. I've seen Vito shine like that many times, and he can sometimes be flat and drop a match but when he's ON… I wonder the same thing he did; "why is he losing to some of these guys when he can do THAT!?"
It's difficult to do a whole seven minutes of it, but when you meter that fast strike of nasty technique without stalling enough to be called for it, it's tough for anybody to beat it. He can turn it on and off and if he continues to build on everything, he could be a gold medalist.
That being said- this championship is just as grand in my book. I don't like freestyle as much– I like it far more than baseball, etc…– but folk style will always be my thing. It's just more balanced as a competition; and you must try to escape or reverse if on bottom.

  2. Vito handled his VICTORY like a champ. Walked back to the center and shook his opponents hand and didn’t do some “viral” celebration like most do. It’s unnecessary and not needed. Oh wait Yianni did the same thing. Cornell is where it’s going to be for college wrestling in the next 5 years.

  3. I got hated when I said Vito will win. How he dominated Fix is nothing RBY had ever done wrestling him. So I knew in the quarter finals Vito is going to ruin someone’s season. I have to admit I didn’t think it’d be both of the previous 2 year finalists

  4. Vito Arujau please accept a new fan. That was a masterpiece good sir!!

  5. Now after re-watching because I blinked. I saw alot more. The last minute of period 2 even though no points were scored, was impressive. The speed of both and the counters, and re-attacks is must see viewing. Rby kept wrestling. I think Fix in the semi got behind and did not know what to do.

  6. Vito is the reason that we love wrestling. It’s beautiful poetry in motion watching him.

  7. Vito already man-handled RBY. It’s not like this is their first meeting. Remember he said college stage.

  8. Something isn't right w/ this match/ RBY didn't have his focus all year, but no way Vito is this good – no way/kinda of reminds me when Ben Johnson won the 100 meter gold……..

  9. Wrestling, the ONLY sport where black guys speak perfect, intelligent English. Prove me wrong please

  10. Assalamu aleykum Vugar ! Tebrik eleyirem) men Sahibem internat uşagı…. Xatırlaya bilsen

  11. this was so great. Poise. Belongs there. Arm around dad, like in the living room. Oh, and he gets an Ivy league degree! not bad

  12. That last challenge by Sanderson was a strategic mistake. Arujau was tiring–Bravo Young wasn't. The challenge gave Arujau a breather, and second wind.

  13. As my granpappy used to say, you might be a badass on the mat, but there's always a son of a world-class wrestler from the former USSR who's a helluva lot badder 😂

  14. Time to switch to mma for rby I knew it was going be tough but that was dominat

  15. Someone from Syosset won the NCAA D1 wrestling title? Never saw that coming. I guess hope springs eternal.

  16. RBY had a fractured foot. Nobody except the PS coaches knew. Watch the match again and you’ll see he is inhibited.

  17. I am a huge fan of RBY. My man lost. Like a true champion that he (RBY) is and I a real fan of the sport: We hold I heads high and give a sincere congratulations to Mr. Vito Arujau! Congrats Mr. Vito Arujau…Dammmmm you are great!
