The result of the Portland Open this year for FPO on the Disc Golf Pro Tour was so fun and engaging as a fan. Being an elite series plus added some cool additional emotion that was palpable. Players like Kristin Tattar, Juliana Korver, Ohn Scoggins, and Sai Ananda fighting for the win was near a perfect battle.

That ace was insane. Haven't been many in MPO as of late. But there has been plenty of FPO aces.
We all knew Kristen wasn't going to give up that lead.
I was very suprised at how good Juliana Korver did on a long course where putting is very important.
Right now…I choose the FPO play over the MPO. These women are killing it 💯

Sai is a rockstar. People love her energy and they will root for her everywhere. Also, JK throws really far. I got to watch her live this weekend, and didn't realize how much of a bomber she is.
Don't get me wrong but you can barely mention Juliana Korver without saying how amazing she is playing at 53 years old! Her last year of actual touring was 2006. From 2006 to 2020… a full 14 years, she only played 25 tournaments. To play so well now against a stronger field than she saw 15 and 20 years ago and at 53, only reinforces how great she is.
Awesome to see Tristan take home the win. She is an ass kicker!
And gotta say that men not showing emotions when they accomplish something is called stoicism. Its an admirable quality.

While the tour needs a lot of changes, one thing that is perfect is the elite/majors are 4 rds. You can see the toll it takes (see Kristin this win and watch the first major this yr) and the elation and emotion that the 3rds never get.
Also, while the final score looks close, Kristin in all aspects should have won by 10+. Her last 27 holes is where her putting let her down and never really recovered. If she was hitting(some were very short) easily would have been another blow out. And Sai has proven after a W, its just a boost to confidence. Reminder she held the title for most holes w/o a bogey until KT beat it this yr. Easy to see how to win, make c1 putts and dont bogey.
