Justin Verlander was nothing short of dominant in his five innings of work for the Mets in their spring training matchup with the Cardinals on Wednesday, striking out eight, walking none, and only allowing one hit. The Mets’ offense failed to catch up, however, as they were only able to manage one run off a Tomas Nido home run.

The Cards as usual play sound baseball, you can tell they were trained and consistent. The Mets? play catch up. Whoever is training them in the minors needs to be fired
