Good Job Phillip Mickelson
Ha, ha, the pundits in the press continue to get it wrong and they will never figure it out. Terrific play Phil, you are amazing.
Phil is a champion and Green Jacket winner. He knows Augusta and played a brilliant 4th round. Come LIV Australia I think he’ll be a force.
Just a fluke! He hasn't been able to compete in any LIV tournaments. He has no top 30 finishes. Think about that?!? – with only 48 players in the field:) He was so far behind the leader at Augusta before the final day that there were no pressure on him at all! He was never close and lost by 4 shots which is a lot in golfing terms.
He was right as he did go on a TERROR! Congrats Phil as another major could be coming again!
Go get that US Open
Any comment how Rory?
Golf channel sucks
"Phil the thrill".
Totally disagree with you guys. Your own major analysis, Chamblee has long said A long golf swing equals long injury free career. Phil has just that, a long golf swing, no major injuries and he is a big guy 6-3, long arms and uses those long arms and long swing to still move the ball at speeds of 178 (he was hitting that on the range before Thursday when it was warm) and in round 1 and 4 was around 175. His short game is still there, his Driving this week was the best I have ever seen (Chamblee said it was the most fairways he hit in 20 years at the Masters).
Back to Chamblee, he has cited Tom Watson as a player with a long golf swing which is why he could hit the ball well and compete at a major at 59 (2009 Open) While Watson could swing and hit the ball well even into his 60's, he could not move it the distances that Phil could and his short game started to deteriorated while he was on the regular tour. Phil, still has it.
Phil has a Major at 1 month short of 51 (2021 PGA) and a 2nd at a Major (2023 Masters) 2 months short of his 53 birthday. Given his ability to still hit the ball a long way, and maintain his short game, I think Phil will be this generations Tom Watson and will compete at a Major through his 50's (which Watson did). I also think Rory's comments on the Netflix show "blank you Phil" and Freddy Couples "nutbag" comment have lit a fire in Phil and he has a chip on his shoulder. He might not show up at every major since if he drives it crazy, at 53 almost 53 he can't hit those recovery shots for 4 rounds like he did 15-20 years ago and compete at a Major. But, if he drives the ball like he did at the 2021 PGA (About 60% FW hit and among leaders in Strokes gain off the Tee) and 2023 Masters (he hit 82% of FW's) he can compete and win another Major in his 50's.
Growing up, I was blinded by this guy’s nice guy persona. Now I can confidently say that he is a total douchebag. Good riddance Phil.
Well Phil said it. 20 yrs ago he set out on a fitness plan to maintain longevity and not bulk up, hit the ball out the park. Many other including Tiger became obsessed with swing speed through power. Tigers health problems go back before his car accident. It was doing stupid things with the military. Look at Rory, he is so obsessed with hitting. long drives out the park and bad-mouthing LIV tour and players, miss the cut with how many shots behind the leaders.
There is no question that Phil can still win a major…heck we just saw him win a couple of years ago win the PGA. He can elevate his game still when he's motivated and clearly still has the game and ball speed.
Very impressive response to the criticism and even sartorial mockery he has received recently
You are talking as if Rory McElroy was evening playing on Sunday. He was not playing. He missed the cut. He said Mickelson is playing off of Rory? What are ridiculous desperate statement has nothing to do with him give us a break please
PHIL IS THE BEST AND A STRONG CONSERVATIVE AND NOT A LEFTY LOON LIKE WOODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile
Phil was right
'impresses'…..its un heard of…but sure….'impresses'
Didn’t win though but he doesn’t care about winning, Phil is all about the love of golf… just the golf. Nothing else… just the golf.
