WCW nWo Fall Brawl 1998 took place on September 13, 1998 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The event was headlined with the annual War Games match, but WCW made a few significant changes to the match this year; there are 3 teams of 3 competing in War Games this time around, and the “Match Beyond” has been completely removed. Pinfalls are allowed inside War Games and the match can end at any time. Team Wolfpac (Kevin Nash, Sting and Lex Luger) take on Team WCW (Diamond Dallas Page, Roddy Piper and The Warrior) and Team Hollywood (Hollywood Hogan, Bret Hart and Stevie Ray).

Elsewhere on the card Chris Jericho takes on mini-Goldberg, Juventud Guerrera defends his cruiserweight title against Silver King, and Rick Steiner vs Scott Steiner also takes place.

This video is part of the Wrestling Bios Reliving The War series.

  1. Even though it’s a complete rip off of sign guy Dudley ,I do like to keep an eye out for Lodi’s signs 😂

  2. I know I'm in the minority on this, but I thought Hall reaching for a drink in the middle of a match was hilarious.

  3. Man I still have this ppv on vhs, always found it funny tho that team wcw and team wolfpack wouldnt work together to eliminate team Hollywood.

  4. I can't think of anyone involved that couldn't beat dog piss out of Roddy piper

  5. 25 years later and I'm still not sure which angle sucked harder…drunk Hawk or drunk Scott Hall.

  6. It's a shame that terrible injuries & their fallout soured that opening match, because not only did it have chinlocks & Der Big Bratwurst, it also had Neidhart trying to dance. That should have been fun, but instead it's remembered for ending Davey's career.

  7. I genuinely laugh out loud every time I watch a reliving the war episode, your comedic timing when telling these stories is always top notch, appreciate all the hard work

  8. I'm wondering if Davey Boy was the only one to get hurt by that stupid trap door.

There were plenty of bumps in that area of the ring.

  9. That Hall spot where he get sandwiched between the rings reminds of a spot in one of my favorite War Games matches were Arn is upside down with his head stuck between the two rings like a piledriver ! The rings were WAY closer together though ! Ha ha !

  10. I never ever like storylines that incorporate real life addiction. WWE did that with Jeff Hardy a few years back, Shawn Michaels long ago. Making them take drug tests in the ring in storyline. It's not funny, and probably one of the only things I consider off limits in my enjoyment of wrestling.

  11. Honestly I believe that Eric and Vince started working together behind closed doors right about 98… slowly killing WCW so Vince could buy it cheaper…. I know that sounds like a foolish conspiracy but it would make sense why WCW started declining at a faster pace from 98-2000

  12. I remember that hole hack saw thing I cried like a little girl hack still is one of my favorites ibeen watching wrestling about 45 years now or so and hack weather performing or not has had a place in my hart for all of it pretty much so that cancer thing wow yep that hit hard

  13. I have such a hatred for this PPV.

This should have been booked so differently. War Games needed to be a big blow-off between the Wolfpack and nWo Hollywood with lots of build-up.

DDP still could have gotten his title shot by beating Jericho in a semi-main. Would have been a good match between two hot stars in the company, with plenty of logic behind it (DDP gets tired of Jericho's bloviating and insists he's done more to deserve a title shot, so he throws down this match proposal and JJ Dillon signs off on it).

    Instead we got…this clusterfuck. Ugh.

  14. I think the Flock's end really was well written compared to other stuff.

I've always wondered if the Flock feuding with the Four Horsemen would have made a better storyline than the NWO.

  15. Stevie Ray being forced into the main event just cause they didn't want Hogan, Piper, Bret, Sting etc. to take a pin shows the ego problem WCW had that really took away from the product.

  16. Growing up I was definitely a WCW kid. In no way could anyone convince me that WWF was better. Now looking back at it WCW just had great promos but the wrestling and booking was 85% trash. I love this series and it really shed some light on why WCW failed. Absolute terrible match quality and booking. Almost every match is just a run in or ref bump. This stuff was terrible

  17. Agree with you completely on the way they handled the Scott Hall situation. Absolutely tasteless

  18. Thats f'd up they only used Hacksaw Jim Duggan's Cancer announcement at a PPV event, considering this is the 1st time i heard about it and since my Dad was alive at that time but has died, from fckn Cancer since. Maybe im overreacting

  19. Was the Flock the only faction-angle Eric Bischoff ever booked well? (And yes in my opinion the end of any angle is generally where 75% of the grade comes from)

  20. Wow how to totally endanger your talent for no reason. If vince is responsible for owens' death, do we blame Eric for Davey boys?

  21. Would love you and the OSW brahs to come together for something special. I mean, you're all on the same Island after all!

  22. I had this PPV on VHS when I was 12, ive seen it 100 times. The Buff segment took way too long, it didnt need to be stretched out for so long especially since we all knew it was a set up.
