Regardless of Contreras's performance, the fact that they seemed to announce he wasn't a good enough catcher without even talking to him really grinds my gears. It feels unprofessional and like they're deflecting blame. Same with how Oli threw Oneil under the bus earlier in the year.

As an Angels fan I’m worried. Our starting staff except Sandy and Ohtani, have been pretty rubbish, which is really disappointing because they were really good last year. We haven’t won a series against a team that’s good this year, and we have had a very easy schedule.

StL fan here & thanks Jake for helping us solve a mystery. You stated the players pushed Schildt out today. Many months after Trevor after hearing from players stated he wasn't fully surprised by Schildt's firing.
Now we have the full story.

The Padres are Yankees'd out right now, husking their way into the NL West rivalry. It's going to take much more than SD scoreboard boo-hoo bait to leap ahead of LA/SF for rivalry supremacy. But, they pissed off LA, asked for it, and this season, might be able to handle it. Giants are going to sneak up, court Ohtani, and welcome in a new Bonds in the Bay.

If you looked at Urias’s face after Dave Roberts pulled him it was disappointment. They showed a stat that he’s only thrown 100+ pitches 5 times in his career. He’s wants to be a work horse and the dodgers don’t let him

As a Padres fan, I didn't like the Crying Kershaw thing they did; however, Kershaw literally made that face after the Padres eliminated them in the NLDS last season. Yes, they exaggerated the frown and then add the tears. I still think it was dumb, but please, let's not act like the Dodgers haven't talked massive shit about the Padres over the past 20 years. The Padres start punching back a little and they bitch and moan about a harmless meme? Give me a freaking break.

Massive, massive props to this O's team… they are good… fantastic. But, given the recent info that came out in the days after that start… yea them getting to Max makes a lot more sense. He was definitely "Going through some things," as Snit said in the post-game. I mean, if 'If's' and 'But's' were candies and nuts and all… and again, major props to that Orioles lineup… but that does go a long way to explaining what happened to Max in that 7th inning. Look at Max through the first 6, and then look at what happens in that 7th. It is just painful to watch. Not only just missing his spots and leaving balls hanging and just some very un-Max-like behavior… but the real tell that something was wrong was the TWO defensive errors?!?! Max Fried… I mean, WHAT?!? If you have been paying any attention to Max for the last 3-4 seasons you know that is just something he does not do… unless, of course, there is something else going on, i.e. injury. But so now it's looking like, thank goodness, there is no need for a second TJ surgery or anything, at least according to initial MRI's… but, ya know… knock on wood. Regardless he is clearly going to be shut down for quite awhile, so that is a huge, huge blow to the Braves.
I'm just here for the cliffhanger ending.
