James Milner is a legend in his own right. Fans of every club he served, LOVE him. Coaches love and praise him. Team mates love and praise him. Won every trophy and NEVER was a passenger while winning those trophies. What else do you want from a player? YNWA

I think the term 'legend' gets thrown around a bit too much tbh. Thierry Henry is a PL legend, Paul Scholes is a PL legend, James Milner is a fantastic player and definitely underrated but IMO I don't think he deserves the term 'legend'

Not being in top 3 teams of all time doesn't not make you a legend. Sure, he might not be as talented as Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard but he is still a legend for his longietivity, consistency,work rate and trophy collection.
I think him going to Brighton at the age of 37/38 given the position they now find themselves in says a lot. He is an asset to any squad with his experience, professionalism and versatility

This is getting ridiculous, your overrating a squad player. When Milner moved to City and then Liverpool he never held down a single position for a long period because there were better players there, he stayed in those teams because he made himself versatile enough to cover multiple positions so was very useful on the bench. He was never close to being world class and while his achievements make him a legend that doesn't mean he would get into the premier league best 11.

Loved Milner when he first came to Lpool and the first Klopp years. Then I started feeling like he did a good job as a squad player, but did not liek seeing him start games. Then the last two years (at least) I do not understand what he is doing on the pitch and it is really really overdue that he goes somewhere else, maybe one or two levels down.
He's a PL legend in a way that Gareth Barry is – longevity and consistency matters.

One thing you can rely on with Milner is as soon as he's subbed on he's going to completely clean out the opposition player when they counter attack and get booked. It's a rare skill to have perfected! Rodri does this about ten times a game and oddly never gets booked. In terms of legendary status he's a good bench player, that's it.
Barry or Millner? Have a day off! Gareth Barry was awful and completely over rated! Not a ball on James. Would live iames in my team all day long! All the best James lad!

A player whoβs a James of all trades, versatile player playing all over the pitch, brave and aggressive in tackle when he needs to be and thatβs what I really love about him. He may not have been world class but heβs been consistently very good his whole career
