Destroyed. Absolutely crushed them.
Team Korea once managed to beat Ohtani during his NPB career. Sure, the team had a hard time with Ohtani even back then but the teamwork and high morale saved the game. Even Ohtani himself recognized their outstanding teamwork.
In this whole WBC season, however, Korea lost their biggest strength. They lacked recovery from mistakes while Japan tried to keep in a good mood when Murakami performed underwhelmingly in the first few matches. In this match Korea did try their best against the archrival for obvious reasons, but something was very off. They still looked shocked after defeat to Australia. Team Korea have never feared Ichiro, Darvish, Ohtani or any other big players before, but this year they were shaking. With just a few mistakes they collapsed.
Samurai Japan may have learned from their opponent with high morale and teamwork, and brought the lessons into their strategy. Losing a match is okay but losing passion is a sin.
Huge congrats to Samurai Japan, and hope Team Korea back to the healthy passionate rivalry.

大谷に対する故意死球宣言や、ヌートバーへのデッドボールに謝りもしないとことか本当に「韓国」って感じ。
侮辱とかでは無く、単にスポーツに対する考え方が凄く嫌な感じ。

直前の暴投から、サードランナーに走れと合図した大谷への報復とも取れる投球。
頭部ではないにしても危険球とも言える球、これは睨んで当然。
避けた幅を考えたら背中側に抜けるんじゃないかとも言える球。
これはダメだわ。
2006年のWBC日韓戦では、日本に勝利した韓国チームが日本のマウンドに韓国旗を立てて歓喜したのは今でも覚えている。国際問題に発展しかねない最低最悪の侮辱をした韓国チームを出場停止にするべきだった。
