  1. Wow! Birmingham Alabama 39 year old skater here feeling so nostalgic watching Rob and Charles interviews.

My wife and 3 kids got me rollerblades for Christmas which makes sense, since I haven't skated since I was 22 years old. Hurt my back 2nd time at skatepark and hearing Charles and rob talk about how they feel unconfident now gives me the feeling I'm not terrible… I'm just too old for this shit, but it's ok.😅

  2. I have been waiting for this guest since you guys started the podcast. Rob's sections were the BEST

  3. I remember Rob skating in the pouring rain at Liverpool IMYTA, with one of the nastiest mullets I've ever seen. He was super upbeat and just loving every moment.
Also, Underestimated is one of the hardest hitting blade videos ever made. Everyone nailed it in that film. And Majette put it together so well.

  4. I remember hanging out with Rob and Brandon during the IMYTA Puerto Rico and the where having a blast!

  5. Haha I used to skate champaign because I lived there. Funny world and I never knew that about Rob.

  6. First time I remember seeing Rob he was doing backflips on the wallride at Ramp N Speed. I was told he was 8, but sounds like he was a bit older from this interview. I used to drive from Hueytown to skate Hunter St Baptist, it was a nice spot. I always thought Charles was a few years older than me, but we're the same age. I miss occasionally skating with them at RNS and The Wall. Always inspiring, especially watching Rob mature so hard around 99-00 when Salomon came around. 🔥

  7. Well done, as usual. Now I'll burn the rest of my work hours watching old Thompson clips.

  8. Rob Thompson was one of my favorite skaters. Still is. Dude could shred. Its so crazy to see him with white hair, we are all getting old lol.

I can empathize with him about not being comfortable on skates anymore. It's great to hear a former pro actually admit that they've lost that touch because I felt horrible when it happened to me. I'm now feeling the itch to skate again but man I know it'll be a struggle.

  9. Awesome podcast, Rob is a huge legend and not talked about enough as a goat of the sport

  10. Im glad the hammer on the Philly rail was addressed in such detail. On that note.. anyone know if Poetry in Motion is online? Haven’t seen that video in over 20 years 🤯

  11. Hey guys. Austins camera looks crispy 👌👌.. Genesis story was great😂😹👏. This podcast brings me so much joy.. Love how you guys uncover so much rollerblading history💙.. THANK YOU

  12. Rob is definitely one of those guys that should be talked about more. The level of the shit he did was absolutely insane

  13. Really wanna see that topsoul in Poetry in Motion again. That and the Kelso roof gap on the cover. Hopefully someone uploads it at some point
