Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

Can I have your old clubs? Pretty much any old set of clubs you have will be better than my current set of clubs. 😀
I just bought some new clubs and I’m already ready for a change. It’s a disease. I’m almost positive the new p790s will help me break 300.
You should try the srixon ZX7 mkII irons awesome soft feel highly underrated in my opinion.
Watched with interest. You’re no different to any handicap golfer once the sun starts shining. You want to change, not because you really want to but because you can! You know it’s the guy swinging them and not the tools. But, hey ho, you wouldn’t have a great golf channel if you stuck with the same stuff would you. Best for 2023 from your biggest critic.
very nice video Rick , I hope no golf clubs were harmed in the making of the video lol. I see changing clubs as like the old saying, "A change is as good as a rest" and I would stick by that since I have tried to find the right set up myself during this pre season, I may need another Range session or 2 to nail it but its getting there. My wedge set up as always been 48* 52* 56* 60* since I just feel confident with the set up I've chosen 🙂 anyway best of luck with the season ahead everyone. Good Golf ^_^

Be very careful clubs can hear you!! Every time I talk about replacing my 3 wood it has other ideas and I start hitting is right out the middle 🙈🙈🤪
Love that your thinking out of the 3 "Big brands". Always said companies like Cobra, and Wilson are gonna give those 3 a run for their money since those brands are just running off their names now (Lets not remember who did the carbon first! It wasnt the big 3!)

Irons please go check out ORKA golf irons… quad forged makes them super soft.
Lots of great iron lines available with matching utilities. The Wilsons CBs and Srixon ZX7s spring to mind…

Why don't you put the Wilson V6 irons back in your bag to try them while you wait on a new iron set to come along? The V6's are very nice and you said they were the best feeling irons you have played. Also, shake up the internet golf world Rick and give the Maxfli Tour X a run. The Tour will give you more spin, the Tour X will give you more driver distance and they have a new Tour Soft that is getting really nice reviews.
That was a very interesting video to understand you thought process. That being said, not a ton of change here and would have loved to know the exact replacements now. Contents been superb this year, keep it up!

If you are serious about having the best 14 clubs in your bag, you should consider spending a couple of days with Ian Fraser at TXG in Toronto. Not only will you get the best tools for you, all your gapping issues will vanish. It will also create great content for both parties. Good luck in 2023!

TXG tested the 2023 prov1 and x and the x was lower spin off the driver; just 200 rpm more on the 7 iron test.
