World Long Drive Champion Martin Borgmeier tries to break the Guinness World RecordsTM title for most drives over 300 yards in one hour.

Armed with a Callaway PARADYM driver, Borgmeier had 60 minutes to hit as many drives over the 300 yard line as possible. The number to beat was 459, set in 2016 by Lynn Ray (USA) at the Riverwalk Golf Club in San Diego, California, USA.

Filmed on 27th March at London Golf Club, a European Tour Destination and Callaway partner venue, Borgmeier was pushed to his physical and mental limits as he tried to keep up the pace of one 300 yard drive every 7.8 seconds. Assisted by his friend Jacob in the teeing up of the ball, the pair worked together for 60 mins straight with every drive being counted by the Guinness World RecordsTM adjudicator and team of spotters.

With cold and wet conditions on the day, the elements were working against the pair, but would Borgmeier have the stamina as well as the strength to set a new Guinness World Records title?

  1. Damn, I struggle finishing 100 golf balls at the range. MB is truly inspiring willing his body well past failure

  2. patrick cantlay tried this before martin. he managed to hit 50 total golf balls in the hour.

  3. Can we stop pretending that these obnoxious, screaming behemoths are “golfers” and just dress them in shorts and a tank top already? Collared shirts and too-tight golf pants on these clowns is a joke.

  4. Is it a requirement of the record to do it in a cold swamp? Hard fairway in warm weather and he could do it with an iron.

  5. Something ain't right here, the conditions of this challenge need to be more specific, it says golf balls hit over 300 yards, does that include roll or is the challenge most balls carried over 300 yards, that means Martin carried 401 balls over 300 yards, if you're talking firm fairway conditions anything carried around the 280 mark should bounce and roll over 300 easily securing him the record where as it looked like Martin was hitting into thick rough, that's not adding into the fact the temperature outside, wind etc, under different conditions Martin has this easily, I reckon he could definitely get 500+ over 300 in an hour

  6. I can recommend you try and train the forearms and grip by looking at what some of the worlds best arm wrestlers train. They have incredibly strong forearms. They also have some extremely good advice on how to rest the forearms and get the 'pump' out of them.

  7. That record is all about conditions, the guy that did 459 is not exactly a physical monster but hit in very favourable conditions. I reckon i could do it on the same hard san diego fairway as the 459 guy.. Hit balls stupid fast normally at range and if someone teed them up one per 8 seconds seems highly achieveable The fact he ended up hitting over 600 balls shows that the record is easily broken, just go somewhere with some decent roll and all those mis hits make it and the record is smashed. 600 is possible
