@deke I totally agree with you. on everything, Canada included, as well as the upcoming season. he may been hired simply as an assistant or maybe he has a specific ability he's brought in for an eventually can take over if Canada is hired elsewhere. but I also believe our offense will be fine. infact I see a 13W season!

I still remember everybody dick riding Matt Canada when we first hired him. Now everybody hates on him… lmao
honestly i like this signing ONLY, if he was brought in, to be an assistant qb coach. I have a hard time thinking they would bring him in and expect him to make any kind of significant changes to the playbook, and I would really hate the idea of bringing him in, to learn the system so that he could take it over should we need to move on from matt canada….though i also have to say that i think well be fine with canada at the helm, provided that we continue to follow the upward trajectory that we had at the end of the season.

Matt Canada should’ve been gone after last season. Judging his overall from the last few games of an otherwise, seriously disappointing season, is dumb. IF he is the OC for game 1 of the 2023 season. You will be calling for his head by week 5.
I’m just happy there’s a second brain working with the offense. Didn’t feel like that AT ALL last year.

Deke, IMO, fans would be remiss if they didn’t realize that Matt Canada has got to be hyper aware of the fact that his future with the Steelers hangs in the balance of how he runs the offense this coming season. Canada has to know that he has to adopt his game plans to maximize the talents of the personnel he has.
It’s a foregone conclusion that with all of the free agent moves Omar and Andy have made so far this offseason leads to their wanting to improve the running game in addition to stopping their opponent’s run games.
I don’t believe this guy is what the Steelers would look for as a replacement, especially after canada. I think this is a 2 brains are better than one situation, so the offense better improve this year kind of idea.
Calling it as I saw it. Canada was so predictable in the beginning and admit it did look better last year. I'm not one to chop someone very early, but now is the time to put up. Let's go!

Canada has some serious, around the league experience, that will pay dividends albeit the shaky start. Underestimating the Ben transition is what EVERYONE is doing.

It's not the best opinion but not the worst either. I actually spent time in the NFL left and came back to ALT twice before leaving again. Let's be onests. Arizona sucks to sub good at football, just like Colorado ,UNLV just sucks as well, like UMass . But this is probably Tomlin last year with us before heading to broadcasting, then it evacuation time for Canada and time for new head coach Haley or Flores.

Neither Thomas nor Canada have solidified successful backgrounds. It seems the team has no idea how to address the offensive side of the ball to include Kenny. It's terrible how much shifting of players and coaches has happened because of Kenny's POTENTIAL as it pertains to what the team thinks he's capable of… pathetic! I think it MAY be time for coach #4 if we can no longer make the necessary 'in-house" changes required to win.
