Hey Adam, I had the same issues with my driver as yours before. Hope you get it fixed. I was closing the face too much when I was plagued by that same issue before.
Absolutely love this course. One of the few where I could remember every hole the second I was done. 1-9, 14-17 are perfect golf holes.
Bro your mental game is solid. Cause that’s the worst swing ever, kudos to you sir. Keep getting em up and down.
Flattest swing ever! Still a good golfer though.
Re: the putting stroke with a wedge, I wonder if you've used one of the chippers that have become prominent lately, like the Ping ChipR, or what Mark Crossfield uses, the Cleveland Smart Sole. They're built for that sort of thing and when you consider – as you rightly point out in this video – how many shots are hit greenside, they probably justify a spot in a lot of peoples' bags.
Holy shit! Can’t wait for deets on the meet up, that would be unreal to make it out there. 🤙🏼⛳️🏌🏽
i stopped your driver swing at the top and you have wild over swing. if you could tighten that up a bit it might help. what helps me is firming my grip hold on the club. good golfing to ya.
The mountain course was one of my favorite ones to play when I lived in La Quinta.
I know you have more freedom when you're playing on your own to shoot video and talk to camera, but I always like the snippets of conversation when you have playing partners!
Just played the mountain course for the first time a few weeks ago, absolutely loved it!
Love your content Adam. Keep it up 👍
I have the headcover version of Kevin's shirt. Man has good taste
Tilt
You are right. For the swing you have, you are amazing.
Pitch and putt pays off!! 🤙🏾😎
+1 on par saves!
adam, I love your channel and you do havie a good short game, but i disagree with several of your premises and conclusions. You driver, fairway wood, and hybrid shots are pretty good. Your swing may be unorthodox, but I don't actually think it is all that bad. You still hit the ball farther than most amateur golfers (sure, this means 51%+, but it is worth keeping in mind that you're only short compared to young, strong low handicappers and beyond), and you generally strike the ball from a shallow approach with decent repeatability.
You manage the course exceedingly well: I mean this in every way (not just "avoiding hero shots"): you try to miss to the long or safe side, you think about misses and lines even in your short game and you have realistic expectations. sure, your shallow swing doesn't always lend itself to the best mid iron strikes, but you limit the damage there, too.
The reason it seems like your short game is keeping you a low handicapper is because your long game and course management keep the vast majority of strokes lost off the table . Those super high rounds that happen a few times a year (and which you have the courage and decency to share with us) occur on the rare occasion you start hitting your tee shots off the planet.
Not the prettiest swing but decent ball striking and great short game! That's how you score!
Man I just love how you think and nothing seems to get you down. Especially after all you’ve been through.
With the handicap/index system it doesn't matter what tees you play from. Look up the slope, rating, and conditions and it gives you the handicap for the day. Most people that try to stick you to a tee box probably dont carry a USGA handicap.
Dude you have made my golf game 100% better. Your mentality, the skills, and staying humble. I appreciate you man, thank you.
I know they charge way more, but it's crazy how much nicer the course is during prime season vs off-season.
It’s interesting… you bring this perspective to the game that I’ve never thought of before. Kind of like-
‘Don’t worry, just get good at pitching and chipping and you’ll be fine’
This takes away all that pressure to hit the perfect tee or long fairway shot.
Awesome stuff!
How receptive are the other people with you recording? Do you have a camera man?
Me? I drive for show, but putt for dough.
Just a little slogan I made up on the spot. You guys can use it if you want…
Can anyone recommend a good chipping tutorial video on YouTube. Have seen a bunch or different techniques often contradicting each other (I'm looking at you Phil)
Pete Dye
You cannot rely on your short game. Your short game and putting can disappear very easily.
Only problem i see in your driver swing is your take away isnt straight backwards and your pause in the backswing is very rushed. Great foundation to work on though especially with your game being smart/ organized instead of back and forth
Best comment @5:00. No shame in the close tees, unless you brag a bunch without mentioning you're playing up. Lots of folks still couldn't score from the reds.
people are going to skip ads regardless of whether they're at the front or the back. what's the benefit of throwing it in the middle of the video? better payout?
The funny thing about tee box length is that it only affects one part of the game. A longer course would chew up someone like this who has a great short game and doesn’t strike well. Many people are the opposite of this golfer and actually would benefit from a more amateur green layout. I’d prefer longer holes with huge, flat greens. Courses dont have multiple greens, though, they only have multiple tee boxes. Just by cause and effect it allows a great short game player to not be ‘encouraged’ to work on his swing.
Imagine his score if he learned to use the driver 😂
That’s great if breaking 80 is your goal. You will never EVER break par unless you can put the ball in play off the tee. What you are doing is damage control (still extremely important) but you will never play to your full potential.
