Most obvious thing they should do imo is reduce the amount of clubs they can use. 14 is way too many. 1 long iron, 1 short iron and 1 wedge is all the irons they should have. Not an iron for every distance so they can robot every shot
I'm glad to hear him respond to the rule, as well as the intent. Seeing courses have longer and longer holes where finesse is less and less important is getting a bit stale. Pick courses with tougher layouts rather than wide open 500 yard holes and the distance will no longer be the area of concern.
Give them a mowed 250 – 325 yard landing area off the tee, US Open rough everywhere and that will toughen the courses.

Why not flip it? Restrict the pros, not the recreational golfer.
Restrict the pros by only allowing certain types of golf balls to be played that limits their distance, BUT, allow the recreational weekend warriors to use whatever technology, limitless COR, golf balls that fly six miles, allow them to grind their wedges, no fluting on the face of their drivers, steroids, horse hormones, etc. The only caveat being that if recreational golfers want to play in a USGA sanctioned event, they must follow USGA rules.

They should creat a Drone-Type of golf ball that, when hit, someone outside the course can control it and direct it . End of slices !! Seriously , creating longer courses it’s a stupid thing, they should make more complicated fairways where accuracy would be the real stuff !
They should ban the skinny trousers, hoodies, clown shoes and the stupid baseball caps.
Remember the times golfers had style and a personality.
Imagine Jack, Norman, Seve, Faldo or Payne Stewart wearing those baseball caps, hoodies or the skinny pants 😂

Make the woods club heads smaller. A driver clubhead is the size of a Whopper, at least what I remember it being.
