I have played the 190, 200, 220 and the 190 and 200 are amazing. The 220 was straight as can be but shorter then previous models. Sadly for Mizuno, as you said, if you wait a year you can pick up a new last years model for an amazing price! The 230 will get looked at this year by me.
I think mizuno are missing a trick…instead of trying to go against the more marketed competitors they should go in quite a bit cheaper…there is no way or very little chance as you rightly said will maybe even try a mizuno against the ping…especially at the same price…no chance!!! If they undercut them to around £325 to £375 then this is when the person looking for a ping at £450 suddenly thinks hang on the mizuno is £100 cheaper….also to remember if selling a mizuno driver second hand they don’t hold their value to a ping…so this is another factor to add..
Think Mizuno are shooting themselves in the foot with stock shaft length. Yes, I get that it's more controllable and you're going to find the centre more, but if you're a half decent ball striker, you'd go with Ping or Callaway, etc, for that extra yardage. You were hitting the Ping G430 Max consistently around 8-10 yards further than this. Maybe a reason why when people go for fittings and try several brands, they rarely purchase a Mizuno?
If they are that good, and want to attract a market like their irons, they should price the drivers closer to say a Cobra LTDX which is a very good driver for $ 349.00….Nice review Andrew….
I played the Mizuno MP630 (I think) in 2010 and it was solid. Nonetheless, it's hard to find new Mizuno drivers, fairways, and hybrids in Souther California golf shops now. Irons yes. Who knows why that is the case.
I know I’m kind of an oddball, but I liked their previous drivers when they were blue and stood out from the crowd. The new drivers with their carbon crowns look just like all the other offerings from the OEM’s and probably kind of get lost in the shuffle. A good review as always Andrew, thank you!👍🏻
When I came in the Mizuno woods and driver were the last ones on my list but I'm so glad I tried them! A great deal on the ST220 range as the 230 was on the way and perform and feel amazing!!
It looks as though Mizuno have finally nailed it with their latest Driver range, I'm looking forward to trying them and the new Srixon rane as well👍👍🚀🚀
Hi Andrew, I know what you mean, I’ve had several Mizuno drivers and they have always performed well. I am still using my all time great driver MP 001 10 degrees regular shaft. I will always keep this even though at 78 I have been told I should go for a higher loft and Senior shaft. Liked the video. Nick
Great video, Andrew. I have about the same swing speed as you, so cuurious is the 9.5 degree in the 60gram stiff Kaili the ideal spec for you? I heard the coretech insert makes the spin rate a bit low for medium swing speeds. If I cant go for a fitting, would the Z model in 10.5 degree w softer R shaft to get the optimal spin ~2400rpm be the 'right' spec?

Andrew great video! I agree Mizuno makes outstanding drivers! I would like to see a review on the new ST-Z hybrids and S23 wedges.
