Glad I stayed through to the end. Zack, Scott and Dakota cracking up while Ian talks about Pina Coladas is good content and a fun ending.
From a viewers experience this clock has been shit
The only way to make the clock feel okay is to give enough time it doesn't penalize. the fucks the point. Have the umps emphasize pace of play
Are Dakota and Cody from Dude Perfect the same person? Has anyone ever seen both of them at the same place?
This is an all time episode.
i think the clock is ridiculous, to speed up games umpires should be encouraged to talk to the hitters and pitchers between pitches and plays, telling them to get back into the box (respectfully), do they arent wasting time. in local baseball the umpires are told if a batter steps out between pitches they need to ask them to step back into the box. once the coach is done giving signals they must say something if they dont already have a foot in. no clock needed, no one is rushed, but the game is sped up a little bit
I’m hoping we see a 30 second all time clock. Make it a penalty for those who take TOO long, but not those who take a breath.
It's not just a pitch clock. It's a game clock. 30 seconds between each at bat, timed. It's also a hitters clock, must be ready at 8 seconds on timer. This is a gimmick to try and make up the money lost during the 2020 season. There are so many more foul balls cos the hitters just aren't settled enough they are forcing it. I'm trying to be positive cos I live baseball. What I've come to is I can probably watch 2 games every night instead of one.
Is that a Kalamazoo Growlers Mac & Cheese hat?
"Special Guest Star" Scotty is a gem. I hate that we won't get to see him pitch this year.
Also…manifesting all good things for Dakota. Please give this man a contract!
This is my favorite podcast.
Hearing all this makes me really not want to have the pitch clock. The games are too long? So what? People go to the concession stand and get in line and until they are back they will miss how many innings?
As if this will get people already not interested into Baseball into the sport because their social media conditioned brain can only handle very short snippets of the same content.
Trying to cater the game to people that are not interested in the first place.
With such short games should come changed of prices for tickets, concession stands, etc. as well. Some people need to possibly drive longer to a game than the actual game itself.
Ian, Tom needs to get you a wine sponsor for the Pod.
Wait… what do you want me to send pictures of again to you?
Awww listen to these spoiled players making hundreds of thousands (millions in Happ’s case) get all giddy when they don’t have to play for more than 2 hours. How tough that must be to play a game for longer than a couple hours
18:53–18:58 keep in mind Zack I don't know what happened with the Pitcher in question but there are 2 kinds of balks now. There's the balk where you don't stop and then there's the balk for disengagement violations. Pitchers can only disengage twice per at-bat the 3rd is a balk penalty if you don't retire the runner. A runner that steals a base during an at-bat apparently resets the disengagement limit, doesn't matter if it's stepping off or doing a pickoff attempt.
Can the batter have an "injury" 😉 to give himself more time?
The clock is fine…Get in there and play ball! No winjing!
I love seeing the guys gasing short up
1. I agree that Scottie's place on the team is a lock nHe should be comfortable. He's already beloved by fans.
2. "A contest where people send in pictures of their p (Zack and Scottie die)….ina coladas with Parcé just proves Ian's point about losing control when it's three children not two to wrangle.
Game is too fast. I don't mind it being sped up, but it gives fans no time to go get a beer and wait in line for 20 minutes. Maybe lengthen the time?
Concessions will suffer. Fans will bring their own food and drinks.
Why pay $100 for a ticket for 2 hours of game, and you miss a big chunk of it just going to the bathroom? If they truly did this for the fans, they forgot about the fans in the stadium.
