With the Panthers it’s not the top 17 guys that’s worrying it’s a tonne of their backup and depth players also getting pinched. Has never happened at other successful clubs because even those other clubs didn’t have the depth down to the 18s 20s ect

Agree with Beak on Manly's coach. He had a show breaking down games/plays a couple years ago, Made me a fan of his style. Didn't work out at the Broncos unfortunately but hope he does well.

All for the boys taking the money that's available to them, but do you think that Cleary now jumping up to a reported $1.3M is also hurting the Penrith's ability to manage their salary cap? That's now more than 10%, whereas if he stays on $800K or so, they probably find the extra for blokes like Critta to stay. We see the impact of top heavy rosters, e.g. Manly, and how much their depth can struggle at times.
For example, the sharks outside backs all apparently come together and decided to take a bit less to be able to all stay – otherwise a Ramien or Talakai would've had to have been let go.

I know we've had our off season issues but the broncs beat the rabbits, sharks and Parra last yr. All of our young guys are now better for the run and we have picked up a pretty nifty fullback. Im not confident we'll have the consistency yet but for me anything outside top 4 seems like falling short of where we should be given our roster.
Our team is stacked (on paper lmao) so we should be aiming highhhhh.

JWH is a big loss for the chookies footy wise and in terms of leadership. The best teams obviously know how to keep culture at the club but a good chunk of the roosters players from the 2010’s, including jwh are retired or on the back end. In saying that I know the chooks will be good, if true hopefully spencer works just a tad on that gas tank and becomes one of the leaders like all the good front rowers the chookies have had recently.

Could be on 700k in 2024 but mentioned with the inflation of the cap it would be more like 500k but what about Crichton who you say Panthers couldn’t pay him 400k in 2024 but with the inflation of the cap would be more like 250-300k no way they couldn’t afford that
