The golf world has been abuzz with the news that Mito Pereira will join LIV Golf, the independent golf league. He will join the Torque GC team, led by Joaquin Niemann, along with another player, Sebastian Munoz.
Mito Pereira is a 27-year-old Chilean player who broke through on the PGA Tour by leading 71 holes of last year’s PGA Championship, finishing tied for third. This would be Pereira’s second full year on the PGA Tour.
He recently achieved sixth place at the PIF Saudi International and 11th place at the Asian Tour event in Oman, maintaining his world ranking of 46th.
Sebastian Munoz is a 30-year-old Colombian player who already won the Sanderson Farms Championship in 2020.
He also played on the Presidents Cup International team last fall along with Pereira. In the current world rankings, Munoz is ranked 96th.
The inclusion of Pereira and Munoz in LIV Golf’s Torque GC team raises great expectations.
The independent golf league is attracting attention from players around the world and there is a strong possibility that Pereira and Munoz will make their mark on the competition.
