The PGA TOUR is set for a thrilling week at the WM Phoenix Open as a star-studded field is the focus at the most attended event of the year. Rory McIlroy is making his first PGA TOUR start since winning THE CJ CUP in South Carolina in October. McIlroy has, however, played five times on the DP World Tour since that win, recording five top-5 finishes, including a win at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. Eight of the world’s top-10 golfers are in the field, including world No. 2 Scottie Scheffler and world No. 3 Jon Rahm. Rahm currently leads in the FedExCup Standings and has won four of his last six starts combined on the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour. Meanwhile, Scheffler is looking to become the first golfer since Hideki Matsuyama (2016-17) to win back-to-back titles at TPC Scottsdale. Sam Ryder returns to TPC Scottsdale after making a hole-in-one on the famous 16th hole in 2022. Other names to look out for include Shane Lowry, Collin Morikawa and Patrick Cantlay, who returns after a playoff loss last season.

  1. Two Canadians in the lead and showed just 1 putt amongst them both (and nothing of Hadley either). Love that PGA is showing more highlights…but is it just for American audiences? Perhaps the leaders may be more relevant to show than, um… say DeSmith's putt to get to +4?

  2. Not one shot from Hadwin, co-leader and only one from Taylor. Got something against the Canadians?

  3. The PGA needs to start dumping money into making golf free for anyone under 18yo.
This LiV drama has brought more interest to the game than there has been since the “Tiger slam” era.
If golf is gonna stay around there needs to be more, and the old ways of thinking need to go away.
The days of golf being a game for rich white old men is going to sink the game or it will need to change with the times.

  4. How is there only like one highlight of the 2 Canadians that finished the round tied for the lead. Talk about quietly sneaking up the leader board.

  5. The Worst PGA Tournament since a decade , its a Circus for drunks, and drunks dont play golf very well !!!! would never spend a dime to participate in Waste Management Events.

  6. Hey PGA tour, there's other players in the world. J. Day at -5 and not a single highlight! That's why you're irrelevant outside of the US

  7. If you think you've played desert golf in Scottsdale yet didn't interact with a Jumping cholla, you wrong. You played TPC.

  8. interesting that none of the shown highlights showed the 2 men tied for the lead after the 1'st round. Oh, they're both Canadians–eh.

  9. Good highlights But how can Jason Day end up near to top of the board and not one shot worth showing?

  10. I love tony but he definitely would’ve walked down to get his ball out of the hole if he would’ve made it. 😂 hope he wins

  11. must be an American broadcast…. so funny the 2 guys leading the tournament which are Canadian was not on the highlights….same old PGA..people wonder why alot of guys left the PGA

  12. It's amazing the PGA highlights only included one highlight from the Canadians who are on top of the leader board!

  13. That one dislike is surely an error or they hole-in-oned ever one of these holes in the highlights and think the golfer featured need to get good.
