Would you like to improve your short game? Do you find yourself thinning the ball at times along the ground or worse still chunking your chip shots and leaving the golf ball in front of your nose?
It’s so frustrating isn’t it?
Don’t worry, the solution is much easier than you may think. In this weeks golf lesson Im going to help you learn:
▶️ Chipping and pitching stance
▶️ Chipping vs Pitching technique – what’s the difference
▶️ Simple short game drill – the POP & STOP
▶️ Ball position for chipping
▶️ Chipping distance control
Everyone struggles with their short shots around the green from time to time including me.
Yes, people often think professionals are perfect all the time and we find everything easy.
That couldn’t be further from the truth.
Just like you I can thin the golf ball along the ground, chunk it and leave the ball under my nose. The difference is I have a system to get myself back on track.
I haven’t shared this before but a couple of golfers this week encouraged me to do so because they found it so helpful.
The system is pretty simple and helps to improve 3 things:
1. Strike
2. Direction
3. Distance control.
I thought you’d benefit from me walking you through how I perfect my chipping before every round of golf I play. It’s kinda like a 5 minute routine that helps me achieve all of the above.

ABOUT DANNY
———————–
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On YouTube and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Where's your Dad?
Thanks Danny, just at the right time going thro’ bad time, stubbing chips (12) yesterday some doubles, be trying this later.
Another great video Dan , can’t wait to try it .
That drill added to the one you did with your Dad is gold DM.
I still say "Danny Maude's Dad" before every chip shot 😀
Verry good video easy to understand thanks Danny
Great video Danny. Would you use the "right foot back" method out on the course or only for practice?
Thanks Danny! What club should we be using?
Morning sir! Awesome video! Can’t wait to try and practice. Still cold here in Chicago, IL. 😂
Great tips Danny, exact,y what I need to practice
Great tips Danny.
Great video as ever. In this video you have your left foot in front with weight on, feet furtehr apart and hands higher up. In other chipping videos you have your feet very close together, choke down on handle and get over the ball and POP the ball with club head toe down. Different ways of doing the same thing OR better in one situation than another?
Can you leave your trial foot back permanently? Why move it back parallel?
Great lesson, can’t wait to get to the practice area 🏌️♂️
Do you use the bounce in all these short shots? Bob
You are a ingenious in golf teaching.
Danny, you generosity is honoured by many of us and especially me, a 50 year old novice from Sydney. My chipping game is inconsistent, but the good kind, improved greatly thanks to you mainly (and some others). Thanks, mate! 👏🏼🙏🏼
Super. I do exactly, always, this pose on the course. Friends laugh at me saying you look like a heron. But it works absolutely well. Since I raised the heel of my right foot, the chip has become my best golf shot. But, we must also insist on the fact of finishing the slow movement oriented towards the chosen target. At first, I measured my distance on four positions (heel, knees, hip, shoulder) to know my lengths, with irons 60 °, 56 °, P, 9. Idem for the bunkers but only with 60 ° and several openings of the club. Great advice. Thank you. Sorry for my English, I am French-speaking.
Great tips Danny. How about a chipping tip for using a chipper. Bought the new Ping one for the season ahead for bump and runs etc. 👍
What was the ball position used Danny. Another brill lesson tho
Lovely stuff for a Saturday morning Danny. Great tips and all score reducers.
Stay safe and thanks
Thanks again Danny. Very useful tips & reminders. This is where so many shots can be gained or lost. More often the latter!!!
Great simple tip thanks again Danny
Great tips Danny. I'll definitely be trying them!
Would you recommend using the same club for the first two exercises, so your 56? I think I get unsure of what loft to use…
Thanks as always Danny, this should definitely enhance my short game.
Great tip and video. Do you use this method on the course and how about your ball position in relation to your left foot?
Thank you so much! 😊
Someone send this to Rick Shiels
Would love a 'go to' for bare hard lies when too often is a bladed ball to the other side of the green
