Micah has the speed but he’s a ways from the pga guys. If you follow him you’ve seen him compete in small tournaments and he’s definitely got a long way to go. No doubt the speed in todays game is huge but you gotta be shooting low to mid 60s constantly to even sniff Korn Ferry success
Riggs was probably fuming on the inside during that segment lol
How encouraging to see Micah described properly by many. There are ten million young dudes out there with games as good or better than Micah and Grant none are or will ever be on tour.
In a few years this YT golf business will (and is already) be inundated and Micah and Grant will wane.
I’ll have to wait a little to be proven correct that Micah has the personality of a rusty door nail and Grant the maturity of a 14 year old. That’s not sustainable.
Micah is a terrible wedge and iron player. He pull hooks nearly half of his iron shots and doesn’t make putts.
Stop with the Micah going pro stuff. He would get destroyed by the guys playing in the Kornferry let alone PGA
The Golf channel should Give you a weekly News program to cover all these new and up coming player out there you really have good and new material I'am 67 year old and Love watching your channel Listen!!! your on the right track this vlog is Good Follow your dreams YOU WILL GET THERE !
Unpopular opinion, but there are probably 10x as many guys as most people think who are good enough to be on Tour…IF (and this is the key) they aren't playing in competition. Golf is SUCH a mental game. Just having the skills means nothing if you can't use them when it matters most. Micah could prove me wrong, but I don't think he has the mental game to be on Tour, and it's not close. That's not a huge knock on him, it's the exception, not the rule, to have that kind of mental focus. But he doesn't, and unless he literally hired like one of the top mental coaches in the world, I don't see it happening.
Happy to be proven wrong though.
Micah just has no control. He needs a bunch of lessons and practice to get his consistency and short game to the pro level. Because he totally waffles easy greenside shots and putts on a pretty consistent basis.
Micah is barely even an average putter.
Average short game.
Absolutely no chance
I once randomly played with a guy in Jupiter FL who wasn't cutting it on the FL mini tours and he shot a 62 on a top 100 course. These guys are everywhere. And the difference between them and even lower level Korn Ferry players is massive. Distance is important, but so is accuracy, consistency, putting, short game, dispersion patterns, etc…The tour level guys are elite in all these areas relative to elite amateurs.
Primo is trash, their stuff doesn’t look good
If Micah really wants to make that jump. He's got to grind hard like it's a full time job including 5 hours a day on chipping and putting (basically short game)
He is not that good. Watching someone on a driving range has 0 to do with how good they actually are
Happy Gilmore learned to putt.
Shooter never hit a 400-yard drive.
That's the defining difference between Tig and most other YouTube golfers.
I’m loving seeing your channel grow. Keep it up Nate.
“Gonna get right to it”…proceeds with sponsor LOL gotta love it
NGL Getting tired of seeing Joggers as golf pant's. Never been a fan never will but what ever floats people's boats.
To me Micah’s numbers remind me of a football or basketball player that kills it at the combine. Can he put it all together at the highest level of tournament golf? he should certainly try and qualify and try and get TaylorMade to give him sponsor exemptions to Korn Ferry events if possible.
There's someone saying "you're so good at golf you should be going for the tour"
And then there's Trottie saying "you're so good at golf you should be going for the tour"
Micah's raw talent and athleticism is absolutely insane. He might be the most naturally gifted non-PGA tour golfer in the world. Obviously, John Daly is probably the MOST naturally talented golfer the world has seen in the last 20 years. I think Micah's not far behind him in terms of natural ability. Obviously Micah needs to practice and get coaching and stuff to bring it to the next level, but… If he does…
micah cab't putt. he's better ,but not good enuff for the pros. imo
That’s cool to that Trottie said that and maddening.
I wish I just had 1 year bills paid kids fed. For me to focus on golf career.
I’ll still attempt US Open Qualifying tho this year with absolutely no practice. Shoot 69 and still not make it Hahaha
Reminds me of the old saying "don't quit your day job". No disrespect to MIcah but hitting it prestigious distances is a completely different animal than firing 6 under in a PGA Tour event. The same goes for the YouTubers that play a course that the Pro's are playing the next week. Being in an actual tournament you can add about 10 strokes.
I doubt you can make that assessment from a single range session, you would need to see him on various courses and conditions. I'm sure Micah knows where he is and what it would take to make it on the tour, maybe his path is right for him and I suspect it is.
Micah is an amazing athlete with an amazing golf swing. However, watching the nine hole match against Wesley Bryant shows how good a touring professional is on the GREENS versus a youtuber. I think if Micah can get his putting to a touring pro level, he'll have a great chance. Plus, he's very marketable.
There's level to this game, and Micah would not make it as a tour pro. He'd be giving up a lot to start the grind needed in order to make it too. I just don't see it happening. You only have to watch any of the James Robinson content on Rick Shiels' channel (the ex-tour Pro James Robinson, not the YT curator) to realise how tough it is even for those who are clearly levels above
micah cant putt
Micah is a really great amateur golfer don’t get me wrong, but he is MILES away from the pros and I highly doubt he’ll ever be there. Just watch his videos when he plays with tour players, he makes way to many mistakes and his misses are massive. I like Micah a lot as a content creator, but as a tour pro just can’t see it happening unfortunately
Getting right to it after the sponsor haha
Micah should join LIV golf
Primo looks like a sophisticated brand. Makes sense to sponsor a guy who can’t tell his left from his right, and struggles with his native language.
Someone needs to realize that these "joggers" are actually women's Capri pants of the 1970s.
You look like a girl when you wear them, NOT a good look for any man.
I love Micah, he's not consistent enough to make it on tour.
Micah just can’t hit the ball straight 😂
Micah simply lacks mental fortitude to take it to another level. It’s really that simple.
Hitting the ball hard does not take you anywhere if you are not constantly in the fairway. I am sorry i love to watch Micah, Grant, and also the guys at Good Good. Although, to me from all of those guys the only really good, very good players were Grant and Garret. The others are definetly scratch golfers at best. but they are a lot of fun, all of them.
But to think Micah has a better chance than Grant as a Pro player is ridiculous. Grant's short game usually is second to none. His putting is pretty good too. He does not hit the ball extremely far, but i bet he does not work on getting stronger to do it. You can see Micah is very fit, but he is smaller. But, his ballflight is often way too inconsistent. I think mostly because he precisely tries to hit the ball so hard for a smaller guy in terms of height, that it makes him an inconsistent ball striker. Kind of reminds me of Rory Mclroy(I mean come on Rory is a legend already i know), but i mean it in the body shape.
Grant in the other hand, is very consistent, yes he may not hit the ball so far.But i'd rather hit a shorter drive and stay in the fairway than hitting bombers to the woods or hazards or OB. His short game is on point all the time. He is a very good putter also. And even with that, he himself says all the time he is not consistent enough to play as a PRO. Too many glitches still even been the most consistent of them all. When you watch a pro player, it is so uncommon to see them miss a shot, or a missed hit, that it makes the news when they do. That is how consistent you need to be to play with the big guys…… Anyway, JMO. Cheers guys!!!
Micah’s short game is costing him 10-12 strokes per round…..if his short game was pro caliber he would be the best player in the world…..but it ain’t
They are you tube golfers for a reason! Micah couldn't break 75 on the Minor league Golf tour!
Thanks Nate. I'm enjoying what you're putting out there regarding the internet community. Keep it coming.
Micah used going pro as click bait.. everyone agrees you can be pro or produce you tube content.. you can’t achieve at both
i can see Micah being successful but he needs to figure out the mental side of his game
