Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. I don't play golf. I'm here because Rick is an amazing content creator. Keep up the incredible work. 👏

  2. Golf companies know the consumer are idiots. They’ll buy anything new that comes out. Even if they just got one the year before.

  3. I absolutely love cobra stuff and if this had the 3 weight system like rick said about I would be getting fitted for 1.

  4. Cobra is going to ask Rick to join their team as a consultant haha. Great point about not needing 3 drivers. It's such a silly idea. Just make one driver and better it every once in a while. Look at Ford F150 trucks in North America. They have been around for YEARS. And they are one of the best trucks out there. They have gained customers' trust and don't need much updates to convince one to buy them.

  5. I’ve steered away from cobra because they are so flashy this year the looks are very nice. I agree it could have been a strong compilation with TM and Callaway if not for the price

  6. I have an F9. Love the way it looks. Love the way it performs. Hate the way it sounds! Only reason I’d sell it. Agree with the outcome Rick – what an opportunity missed, smacks of trying to follow rather than lead the competition.

  7. Rick the engineer, eh? I don't think you know what you're talking about on that one.

  8. Rick is the only golf channel that gives his honest opinion. All the other guys say every driver from all manufacturers is the best. Watching James Robinson is a waste of time because everything is the best. Seems like the others are scared to be honest incase some manufacturer will sponsor them. Can always count on Rick. Cheers mate

  9. I think it’s a good idea in theory, however to add another weight port would be adding overall weight to the club since materials other than carbon would be getting put in place. Might see an inverse relationship between CHS and BS, but this is coming from a club junkie and not an engineer 🤣 great review as always Rick

  10. Good thing you’re not working for their marketing team Rick! How would they be able to distinguish what the higher vs mid vs low handicapper would buy then? There’s a reason all other manufacturers use that marketing technique, as it’s easier to market to the different handicap ranges! You would either lose many lower or higher handicap players with the choice of the one club!

  11. Very well constructed argument for the three weight system. I'd love to see you call up one of Cobra's club engineers and see if it's possible to either do a video in their truck talking about the pros and cons of that idea along with learning some basic things about club design in general from an expert. Or do the same on the podcast…

  12. @Rick Shiels Golf I look forward to these reviews every single year! I love everything about your show and you truly have gotten me BACK into the game of golf. Thank you for all you do for the game. And maybe one day I’ll be able to get me some of these clubs. Keep up the great work and I look forward to everything you’re doing in the future including the @Rick Shiels Golf Reviews

  13. The idea you had at the end about the weighting system is exactly what pxg gen 5 has done. Works really well. I do like a cobra driver

  14. Good review! Other benefits from 'Rick's Aerojet' would be for retailers not having to stock up unnecessary amounts of the different versions, and the environmental footprint would surely also be smaller from both reduced production and transportation efforts.

  15. We need more reviews on the current equipment versus the old versions to see if there is any difference.

  16. Rick has a great idea of the 3 weights! Cobra should try that. They use it in their king tec hybrid which is fantastic! They should do it in a driver. I even said that when I got my tec hybrid last year, man they need a driver with this configuration.

  17. Great review. But disappointed at Cobra for the last years. My TM 4 regular driver beats Cobra F8 + stiff shaft with 30-40 yards. My old Titliest 913 hybrid outperformance my Cobra F9 both in distance and dispersion.

  18. Totally agree about one club they are all at it. Just lower the prices with one driver that can be adjusted. I won't be buying any of the 2023 drivers. Do companies understand that the cost of living has gone up and what will suffer the non essentials. PXG seems to understand the market

  19. Hi Rick love the vids can I have one of the 3 cobra drives if you don’t want one because I am playing with 50 year old driver

  20. Yea you are completely right this could have been a whole lot better with just one club

  21. I think you’re spot on. Being a relatively new golfer, all these options are a little overwhelming. A single driver, with customizations would make the buying and fitting process much smoother

  22. I completely agree with him on Cobra having one driver. I think they would have a lot more sales.

  23. Why didn't they do what you suggest? Simple. You wouldn't need to purchase another driver next year and it would kill your business…LOL!

  24. Love the content, Rick! As a golf professional, I value your understanding and breakdown of what each manufacturer is attempting to do and your honesty! Any chance you’ll be taking a peek at Srixon’s new Mk.II lineup? Been hearing strong things!
