Whispering Firs Golf Course is located on the air force side of Joint Base Lewis – McChord or simply JBLM at 895 Lincoln Blvd SW, McChord AFB, WA 98438. Whispering Firs Golf Course at McChord Field is well-manicured with tree-lined fairways, tough rough and small greens. In addition, water hazards come into play on several holes. Featuring 18 holes and 6,646 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72, the course rating is 71.8 and it has a slope rating of 122 on Blue grass. Overall, the golf course is a challenging, yet fair course. Whispering Firs’ pro shop is fully stocked with pro line golf equipment, clothing and golf accessories. Customers can also place special orders for equipment not stocked. Play is open to active duty personnel, retired military, reservists, DoD employees working at JBLM, retired DoD civilians, and their respective dependents. Base access is required. They do also serve food. Habanero Mexican Grill serves breakfast (breakfast menu offers traditional American-style favorites and breakfast burritos.) as well as lunch items. Mexican Specialties that are south of the border favorites, including burritos, tacos, quesadillas, salads and vegetarian options.
