  1. Great thought provoking presentation ❤
I am going to research this with my local custom fitter .
    Much appreciated.

  2. I kind of rolled my eyes at these newfangled putter shafts… Until I spent some time with the Odyssey Stroke Lab shaft. Everyone talks about the stiffness and torque but not many talk about the weight distribution. The back weighting and reduction in weight with the graphite means your putter is a "normal" overall weight but the swing weight is actually closer to an old school putter. Feels fantastic.

  3. I've done this with various weights. It works for a few rounds but then I seem to lose the feel for the head. That's why I like the super stroke grips where you can swap out weights. Wonder if I added weight to the head and grip if it would still work

  4. Could you tell me what gram weight the numbered weights represent in your video? I have some old tour lock counter balancing weights but they are distinguished by grams. Thanks 🙏, great topic.👍👍👍

  5. It’s my understanding Jack Nicklaus back weighted his clubs. I don’t know if he did the same to his putter.

  6. Jim … did you get attacked by the dermatologist? They have a nasty habit of doing that to people … Hope it turns out well for you.

  7. Good Stuff Jim, I have had great success with the Storke Lab, I currently use a Scotty Cameron with the large Matador Grip, I'm not sure if it's back weighted or not. But I can't imagine a more comfortable putter.

  8. lead tape?? I have added some to the bottom of the putter thinking I should put on the back of the putter to see how it works

  9. Interesting. What if one were to put weighted extensions off the top of the shaft, like the pole a tight rope walker would use? I know it sounds preposterous and may even look funny, but that definitely balances them out as they try and maintain a straight line. You love to tinker so there's an out of the box idea for you to noodle on.

  10. Crappy comparison. Look at your video, your ball was hardly ever in the same position. Strokes were a lot harder. You're just trying to sell a stupid service.

  11. My guess before watching… Smaller grip. Golf has preached big grips to take the hands out of the stroke and that’s killed feel

  12. I always head to the putter section in most golf shops. test numerous putters and such. Two years ago I grabbed an Oddessy #7 mallet with the stroke lab shaft. I was making everything. I spoke with the salesman, looked it up on the internet and needless to say it came home with me. Life changing for my game, was hovering around a 8 hdcp playing to a solid 4-5 now with confidence comes more made putts. Prior to that I had a Monte Carlo mallet with a super stroke grip that had interchangable weights in it, that is what got me thinking.

  13. The counter balanced shafts out there have changed my driver 3 wood game, seems like effortless distance.

  14. So counter balancing irons would do the same thing? If so, what is the most common weight you use to counterweight an iron (a starting point for me)

  15. A bit off topic or possibly a future conversation / content. I play a well-used set of Muira 001 blades with Nippon shafts I bought used three years ago, and i love them. With that said, they are a bit beat up, especially on the leading edge from stones, cart paths, and bag dings ( nothing on the groves ). I can't afford to buy new clubs from any manufacturer, let alone Muira. QUESTION/s: Is it worth getting clubs reconditioned? Will it change any noticeable characteristics? Have you ever had it done or know anyone that has, and what are your thoughts? Love your content and live shows, thanks, and happy holidays!!!

  16. i bought a stroke lab at a pawn shop. sold my scotty cameron. just smooth and accurate. something to it for sure

  17. Jim, you intentionally used the phase, "get the weight underneath the hands." It's my understanding that you are counter balancing the top of the putter shaft. What do you mean when you use the word "underneath"? In my mind, with the counter weight at the top of the shaft, it would put the weight above your hands and not underneath or below your hands. Of course I'm being very literal. Do you mean get the weight in our hands? Any additional insite you can share with me on this is greatly appreciated. And thank you! Another great video. You've become a fantastic source of golf information and anyone that's serious about their golf game can benefit from most of the content you share.
