Andy, how does Ping crossover compare to #3 and Cally U wood to #2? (need to avoid left leaning heads and need height) . As with your chipper, I put in a HiToe Big Foot and never took it out, Cheers f 72* AZ!
I'll be putting the cleveland smart sole chipper in my bag next spring when i start playing again ⛳
Andy,
As per usual your non brand bias reporting is spot on for Average Golfers. I personally appteciate the fact that you always seem to be trying to focus on making the game not only easier, but also more enjoyable for the masses since after all for 99.9% of the golfing public it is just that…a game!
Knew before you started what would be your fav!!😆
Thanks Andy. Great stuff.
love the "walk off" with the Mezz LOL… no need to even get the ball lol
I found the ping ChipR to be a little "too hot" off the face for me. If I was Ping, I would make it 45* of loft and I would call it the iWedge or something to that effect, in order to get rid of the Chipper stigma completely.
I love seeing your chipr reviews. Had mine 3 week now and it’s my fav club. Up and down 5 times with it last week including lipping out from 20 yards and hitting the pin from 40. Getting better with it all the time. My fav club now easily. It’s incredible
Reasonable choices. I would only note that there is a fine line between being "innovative" and just being different. Of course, "innovative" sells for a lot more than "different". As such, it is up to us as potential buyers/users of this equipment to test these clubs and decide for ourselves.
Good one Andy. Fully agree, some are great club innovations to make the game easy(er) for us normal golfers. Ordered the ChipR but got to wait a few months, the LAB putter will arrive soon. Golf is no cheap hobby 🙂
I think you have said before that the Stealth range as a whole wins as the woods and hybrids are also so good 💪
Andy, totally onboard with your choices. I’m a 69 year old PGA member who is still a golf tragic, and with age and multiple injuries/surgeries have been adjusting my bag over time to address my shortcomings. My bag currently consists of Stealth driver, Ping G425 5/7/9 woods, the 9 wood the most current replacing a G425 4 hybrid to gain more height, Ping G425 5 hybrid, JPX 923HL 6-P irons, Cleveland smartsole G 50o gap wedge and 58o sand/lob wedge, Ping ChipR and LAB Mezz.1 Max putter. For me, it’s about playability and enjoyment and this setup is working very nicely, the only club with an uncertain future being the smartsole 58o as I feel I need a bit more versatility with some bunker shots. All I can say to everyone is leave your ego at home and build a bag that allows you to enjoy your game, and one last addition to aid that enjoyment, play from the forward tees!
id argue that a $600 putter isnt a top option for the average golfer
No joke. Can you do a ChipR tutorial? I can’t hit it quite like I could a putter. I’d like to learn what makes you love it so much because mine lacks consistent flight off the face. What’s the best way to get a consistent strike and distance control?
TM Stealth 5 wood has been a very popular club in my bag this season. Have actually removed the 3 wood as the 5 wood is long and the extra loft just gives great confidence off the tee on par 4’s and fairway/light rough on the par 5’s. Wouldn’t be without it at the moment. Maybe it’s time to drop the 4 iron and try a DHY!
I prefer to just grab my mizuno mp64 and play the whole round with it. Paid 24 bucks used and put a 37.25 shaft in it and it does great. It's a great putter also.
Good video! I’d love to see a video about the best budget clubs for 2022.
I am rapt with my ChipR. I hardly use my wedges now and it saves me around 5 shots a round.
Enjoy your videos very much but just wondered why you never mentioned it was a “Ping” chipper?
Great list Andy. I am awaiting my ChipR and loving my Hywood.
Another informative video Andy and having followed you this year I picked all the top 5 except the driver. After your review I was keen to buy the Hy wood but they never brought it over here to the Australian market so I bought a used Callaway Mavrik 5 wood Max which I love. My question is this. Is there enough difference between my 5 wood and the Hy wood , both at 18 degrees, to make it worth importing the Cleveland?
Andy, these 5 clubs all seem really exciting. Any chance you could do an 18 hole vlog with them. I’m 9.7 HC and you seem twice as good as I am – I’m sure you would surprise yourself with your HC now 👍🏼🙌
Great video. Some great products on your list
Love my DHY's the 3 and 5…… also have the HYWOOD…..cheers from Canada
My chipping is pretty solid, but the ChipR intrigues me and I reckon I'll be getting one soon. Loving the content Andy – you're content really resonates with us mid-handicappers.
Great video Andy! I’m in America and love all your work!
Watching your club reviews and course vlogs I'd agree with your choice of clubs and the order. I particularly like the look of the Cleveland Hywood. Having a gap between my 5 iron and 3 wood means I have room for a forgiving club or two. Great review as always, Andy.
Thanks. Great video
have three of your top 5 and love them. thank you
