Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.

I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!

On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.

If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

  1. I'm currently learning the pendulum swing with a 58/50/7 Iron in coaching, it's so unatural to me but when you hit it right it removes all the instabilities like wrist movement and flicking

  2. Rick, a local pro in Pinehurst showed me a drill that greatly improved my short game and putting. Practice chipping with your right hand in your back pocket. It takes the right hand flip out of your stroke.

  3. Further proof that weekend golfers would rather buy a new product than practice.

  4. Rick I currently have a chipper in the bag. I might use it a couple of times during a 9 hole round. I took my 60° wedge our of my bag. I haven't really missed the wedge. To be honest, I would rather spend the cost of the Ping Chipr on some lessons to improve my iron approach shots

  5. I have 1 club that’s stayed in my bag from the time I started golfing. It was a chipper and it is far and away my best club! I rarely hit putts from 20ft+ but with my chipper I’ve hit a ton of 10yd+ shots. And the funny thing is I’ve grown so comfortable using it that in green side bunkers I will sometimes use it to get myself out

  6. Rick. I recently bought a chipper and it has been an absolute Godsend. But there again, I do own a rather large Fish and Chip shop that sells a lot of chips. Mate, be honest. That is not golf. Salt and vinegar?

  7. OMG, you had no shame. Guess you've been watching Mark Crossfield again. Maybe you should give him a call to get some tips on how good a chopper can be, from anywhere! 🤦

  8. Chippers don’t have to be “one dimensional.” I’m using a 55 degree chipper wedge so that I get all the benefits of the chipper (shorter shaft, weighted head, thick sole, etc), AND I have the ability to fly it over bunkers or what have you if I need to. This club immediately cut 10 strokes off my game. It’s my favorite club in the bag. You need to try a high-lofted chipper!!

  9. Whether it's the iBlade, i525, or ChipR… Ping is guaranteed to pick a font that completely ruins the look of the club. You could use Microsoft Word Art that would look better. Ping are so edgy too with the capital R in ChipR.
