Am I good at disc golf? How can I tell if I’m good at disc golf? Have I gotten any better or am I just wasting my time out there? If you care about progression at all, these are questions most any disc golfer has asked themselves at some point during their disc golf career. It can be incredibly difficult to nail down what improvement looks like because a different score doesn’t always mean what we think it does.
As beginners, there is a multitude of discs you are told not to throw, and certain courses are labeled as “advanced level” courses. Today we want to talk about how you should and could interact with those parts of the course. When should you go back and revisit those pieces and what should you do when you revisit that disc or course? In today’s video I go back to a course where I filmed one of my first videos for the channel, Alexander Park in Lawrenceville, GA. How does the round turn out compared to two years ago? You’ll have to watch to find out!!
Have you heard of the Birdie Fam? It’s a community of disc golfers who are striving to excel and improve together. We are going to talk about your struggles and plateaus in a safe and healthy environment. When we come together as a family, we’ll grow together as people. 0:56 That's so weird knowing that is one of your first videos on your channel from just 2 years ago and you now you are where you are today, seems like I watched that video just a little while ago. Its clear just how much time and effort you have put into this channel and the results speak for themselves. Congratulations on all your growth and success and thanks for all the help to my game along the way. I hope you continue to reach more and more people.
My first ace was with an MVP Wave.
I aced last month with a Westside warship, almost exactly 1 year since I started playing. 🤓
1st ace was with a crave first day I put it in my bag. still my favorite disc
That was fun Robbie. I like the format of talking through your thought process.
First Ace Blue DX Leopard from starter set as 3rd day newb on 07/11/11 – Just hit no. 22 – 11 years later with Star Leopard3 06/11/22
First ace was with a dynamic discs maverick. It was the staightest shot I've probably ever thrown on the shortest hole within many miles of where I live in Florida's panhandle but hey.. Hopefully I'll get to see you out on one of the courses over here some day, it would make my week
Such I good video. I would be interested to know how add more distance to your putts. Is it just that practice will get you to add more distance as you slowly try to add more distance for each putt you practice?
First ace was an Innova Nexus Glow Firefly!
Absolutely a good video and very authentic. I have done the same thing playing Dexter in Oregon. One of those courses that seemed so hard to me at first, now two years later it's all very much less intimidating. Thanks for letting us all follow along. Thanks for being real, honest and fun.
I got my first Ace yesterday with a Discraft Archer! Didn't expect it at all and sadly nobody was around to witness the explosion of excitement. Midrange is the new driver!
i was there yesterday! Didnt see you tho 🙁
First (and only Ace…so far) was with a Star TL
I have never hit an ace, metal a few times. And that's since 2008…
Dude what kicks are those?!
Come to Hawaii!!!!!
My first Ace was with a Discraft Hornet. The 2010 ace race run.
I have been liking my Tee bird lately. Last year I hated that disc. It burned way to quick last year. Now I can actually get a good flight out of it.
innova teebird3 was my first ace 🙂 a metal flake one. its too straight to understable now, so its on my wall 🙂
Got my first ace with a Full Turn Navigator.
Hit my first ace with Calvin star destroyer (pink and white) first day using it called it when my friends showed up late on the 14th hole lol
Only ace – Discmania D-Line MD (original)… it's my "precious child" disc… LOVED this video, really needed to hear this and tackle this topic (in my life, at least) this last month! Thank you Robbie!
Love that content son!
Neo Origin. Downhill through some branches. A beauty
I need to get better at putting
First ace was with a jawbreaker fierce
